Pardon me if this reply comes off a bit naive, but I’m thinking of my last professional massage when I answer this.

It was the second time I had been massaged by this guy, Tim. First time was impressive, he really worked out some knots and almost-frozen joints. Not speaking good English. Relying on google translate to communicate. Really?  What if that person is impeccably hot, reasonably priced, and checks all your boxes except for English fluency?  I agree that if he can't even carry out basic dialogues and has to rely on translation apps, then it will be a major turnoff for me too.  But what if the English is comprehensible with basic vocabulary and perhaps just some broken grammatical structures here and there?  Is that still unacceptable to you?

For me, the “fatal flaws’ are

• Poor hygiene - I don’t mind if it’s a hot day and a guy needs a quick shower, but anything more…
• Drug use - I threw out a man who once arrived with recreational drugs
• Not kissing - an essential part of foreplay that I always check straightaway

Have you learned the language of every country you've visited? Or even an "acceptable level" beyond basic greetings? Most people who feel this way definitely don't do that, they expect tourist areas/attractions to be in English for them or they use a translator for convenience. Very interesting double standard.

you keep citing non sequiturs, mainly out of some negative desire to "scope" me. I wasn't raised in your cutlure, so I'm not party to that. I stand by my views, and experiences. I only speak English, but I'm learning Spanish, which is slow going. But my husband and I travel abroad a decent amount, and we've met providers who are not fluent English speakers. In Spain, the only way to find good providers is to use a local website; the same goes for Mexico. For every guy on Rentmen, there are 25 who aren't. The translation apps are great for texting, booking appointments, and making sure everyone is on the same page. Once they arrive, the translation is rarely necessary unless something becomes unclear. 

I find it silly to deny yourself incredibly hot men because you're unilingual.
