I think big events actually might keep providers away because the cost of hotel rooms sky rocket.

Im in the SF / Bay Area and wouldn't say any increase at all.  Not many new or good escorts either.  LOL

I doubt the fans going to the games are going to be looking to do much hiring.  It's such an all-day/night fan frenzy outing and non-stop party (even if their team loses).  Cheering, drinking, screaming, drinking, clapping, drinking, repeat.  Won't leave much left in the tank to get it up for any personal play time.

I world think that some of these "straight" guys would rent themselves out to cover the cost of the trip and event.

They are moving and doing things in groups/packs, it doesn't lend itself to solo side meets.

Lots of rooms have way more than 2 people in them to share the cost of the rooms.  Was walking down the hall and could pick out multiple different voices in the rooms I walked past.  Remined me what people do on Vegas trips now bring the costs down.

Hotels rates this weekend jumped about 40% in SF.  I suspect even more closer to the stadium where the games took place (Santa Clara @ Levi's Stadium).

I had my regular provider visit me this weekend in my town 4 hours from Toronto, a FIFA host city. He told me hotel rates have skyrocketed and the hotel I usually stay at had increased their rates by double. I had stayed there for 3 days in May and my total bill was $1100 including parking at $45 per night. So this time it would have cost me over $2000.

Hard to say what the business is like for all the escorts in Toronto but he wasn’t reluctant to leave on a weekend when business usually picks up.
