viewing ownly Posted October 7 Posted October 7 I visit rent men each and every day, and visit profiles of most of the guys I'm interested in just as often. I'm now noticing a few guys putting a block on my ability to view their profile. The reason I look at their profile is to see if they have a travel schedule up, and may be near me. If they ask me why I'm visiting their page so often, and occasionally they will, I'll reply as to why. I've no idea what's gained on their end for putting a stop on a frequent visitor to their profile. If I made an offensive comment that would warrant this action, I get it. Just looking, I don't. Then you have cases - and this to me is a major head-scratcher - of guys who don't have a number contact AND don't have rent men messenger as a way to be reached. How in the Hell is anyone going to get in touch? By contacting a fellow porn star who also advertises that they've done a scene with?
BuffaloKyle Posted October 7 Posted October 7 You need to adjust your settings so they don't get an alert you are visiting their profile. Go to my settings, then under account settings, click privacy. Then make sure the "Do not track me" option is enabled. Whoisyourdaddy, DMonDude, MikeBiDude and 9 others 2 10

Because some feel that you aren’t window shopping but are getting off from their pics with no intention to hire. So they’ll block. I don’t think it’s personal. I think they get a lot of flakes contacting them, so they become rather jaded to anyone they don’t think is serious. @BuffaloKyle offered a good solution to avoid them knowing you are checking them out regularly. As for the contact info, they usually have a number or messenger through the site, but it usually only can be seen once you log in. I have never encounter a providers ad that never had a way of contacting them (particularly after you logged in). Also because they are trying to force people to use rent.men over rentmen.eu… rentmen.eu’s features are disabled and it doesn’t function like rent.men. The provider’s info may not be show up on the older version. Edited October 7 by big-n-tall mike carey and + Pensant 2
+ jimbosf Posted October 7 Posted October 7 I am like you in that I will check someone's ad to see if a travel schedule is posted with any plans to be in the Denver area. However, to prevent any issues, I usually log out before making multiple visits to their ad. Even I have my settings as @BuffaloKyle has suggested, as an extra layer of precaution I simply log out. Another strategy is to put the providers you're following on your buddies list. Then, you can go to your buddies list and click on the "Buddy Activity" button. It shows changes to travel plans as well as availability and the posting of new pictures and new reviews. That way, you don't have to "lurk" on their profiles. Thanks for the reminder to turn my “track me..” back off 🤣 Sometimes I turn it on to see if anyone notices, that’s worked when both provider and myself are “available now”. But my default is “don’t track me…”. + PhileasFogg 1

I do the same thing particularly for guys who travel a lot but don't live in my city. So i don't want to miss it if they are coming, but like others have said, i turned off the profile tracking. So they don't get a notification that tells them i visited their page. 11 hours ago, viewing ownly said: Then you have cases - and this to me is a major head-scratcher - of guys who don't have a number contact AND don't have rent men messenger as a way to be reached. They may be on a break or not taking new clients at the moment but don't want to delete their profile. Or it also just may be that their RM subscription lapsed and they haven't gotten back online to re-up it yet. Edited October 7 by DMonDude + PhileasFogg 1

Gilfson Posted October 7 Posted October 7 I’ve blocked guys that constantly view my profile. I had a few guys that would check it every day so I reached out to them and no response. Just kind of creepy having someone constantly viewing your add who isn’t interested in meeting. + KensingtonHomo 1
+ Jamie21 Posted October 7 Posted October 7 I see guys regularly checking out my profile, not daily but very often, and they never make contact to book or ask questions. It is strange but I don’t mind. There’s pictures of me all over the web so I guess some people look at those too so why should I be bothered by regular visits to my advertising? I think it’s probably guys who are building up to booking. If hiring a guy is new to you, and if you’re also new to being with a guy, maybe you’re exploring your sexuality then it can take a lot of courage to build up to making contact. I like helping those kind of clients so I’ll not do anything to discourage them. Midtownm4m, + KensingtonHomo and + Drew Collins 2 1
+ DrownedBoy Posted October 11 Posted October 11 I hired a guy once and was rechecking his ad. While looking at it, he must have somehow seen my presence, and sent me a sarcastic remark about sitting on his ad all day. I responded to his RM Messenger text with a phone text to the number I hired him at. Epic fail - rudeness and disrespect are the ultimate turnoffs, and that stupid little narcissist cost himself a customer. MikeBiDude, Whoisyourdaddy, + JamesB and 2 others 2 3

jeezifonly Posted October 12 Posted October 12 Anonymous window shopping is not against the law, whether online or at a brick & mortar establishment. At one time, it was encouraged. But both forms of vendors now want an email, phone number or social media handle before you're welcome to see all the goods. In a face to face shopping encounter, if an employee approaches me with a tablet to take my info before answering my questions, I don't take it personally, I just turn and leave. Online, if they don't want me to anonymously get a general sense of the merchandise, I don't take it personally, I just open a new tab for a competitor. la_connor and ThicckyNiccky 1 1
ThicckyNiccky Posted October 12 Posted October 12 I give 4 >5 interactions before I block. If you can't communicate a will to meet by then, we are likely not a match. Gilfson 1

As is your right, but i see this sentiment a lot here and this isn't the threat or scare tactic for providers that you think it is. There's vastly more of us clients than there are providers. They do not miss you if you decide to take your business elsewhere because they've got dozens of other people visiting their profiles and actually making a move to book. Any business operating in person is going to prioritize the people who may actually buy something over someone who walks by and window shops every day for a month straight but never comes into the store, and they don't notice if finally one day you go walk by some other store. Just looking, I don't. you are using their content for free. we get notifications when people view our profiles. if you are looking EVERY DAY, you are unlikely to book and you are satisfying your desires by simply looking - therefore you are not a customer. If you are wanting to know if they will be near your town, 'buddylist' them and you will get a notification. Or perhaps look once a week. Daily looking is a bit much. How would you feel if you knew someone was looking at your photos every single day. it's a bit creepy.
