When I was a very young man, I made inquiry of my great uncle, a financier of some note, as to whether or not I should take accounting courses in my studies. That has helped me immeasurably in all sorts of situations including serving on a board of a non profit organization and handling the annual audit performed by an outside accounting firm.

There is a difference between bookkeeping and accounting -- and I agree with both of you, @robberbaron4u 's great uncle, and @Luv2play 's law school.  😉
