They don't even open a case for anything unless the loss is over $250,000 these days. Just no resources. Sounds like your day job is legal or law enforcement related. Would you need to be charged with something serious, or is the whiff of something sufficient for your employer to have some concerns? Remember Matt Gaetz was never charged but his reputation was impacted.

I don’t know much about Dawson County GA. I suppose men in rural/conservative regions have a greater need for precaution. The PD and DA in SF would never do that. I knew a case in Austin, Tex. The provider was sentenced to a few years of probation. There was also a case in Maryland. The dispute between a provider and a client ended up as a charge of grand larceny for the provider and probation.

As you say in the 2nd case, it was a dispute between the provider and the client. One of the two parties brought the messages to law enforcement, so an encrypted messaging app would have been pointless. rvwnsd 1

DznNYC Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I think this is a struggle that goes both ways too. Telegram has always been my preferred platform for the nitty gritty client chats. (Maybe I should be using Signal?) But getting clients to chat there is often like pulling teeth. Very few seem willing to use it. WhatsApp is an acceptable alternative, but it requires sharing my phone number. Which I’m certainly not squeamish about. Until guys instead invite themselves to use iMessage instead… 🤦🏼♂️ It would seem that if you’re a sex work enthusiast on either side of it, you’d value the discretion. I’m not sure if the issue is a convenience issue? Or not understanding the value of encrypted chat? Shawn Monroe, moonlight and + KensingtonHomo 3

+ Alabastrine Posted May 26 Posted May 26 (edited) I'm having some trouble getting providers to communicate with me over Signal. I'm certainly not a flake or a time waster, but at the same time I understand because juggling multiple communication apps on a phone is a fucking pain in the ass. While I don't want to dox myself here, it suffices to say I have experience with privacy issues in the digital realm. I am also a privacy "enthusiast" of sorts since I'm well aware of what kind of data is collected day-in-day out. This makes my personal vigilance when it comes to keeping private conversations private much more heightened than others. Signal is the most secure app I've run across to take the place of phone texting (phone or computer), video or voice calls; you can create a username on there if preferred to guard your phone number. For email communication I use Proton mail (I pay for the full suite of features and find it's worth it for the peace of mind:, proton calendar, proton drive) and I use OnePass - although Proton just came out with a password manager as part of their suite so I'm in the process of moving the thousands of passwords over (not fun but worth getting everything unified under one app). I'm not sure why there aren't more people on board with guarding privacy, and it's not a lot of effort to use these apps so difficult of adoption isn't the issue. moonlight Posted May 27 Author Posted May 27 Yeah, I still don't understand why Signal isn't more popular. Like you @Alabastrine I like that it keeps my real number private. I haven't figured out a way to use WhatsApp with a burner number so that's off the table for now. It's incredibly easy to obtain someone's real name if you have their actual phone number. And many of us have legitimate needs to protect our identity and privacy. Hey, if Signal's good enough for... err, nevermind, no politics... nate_sf, + ApexNomad, + Alabastrine and 1 other 4
+ Alabastrine Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Another item to note, while you can't have two numbers on Signal, you can install the beta version of the app and link that to a secondary number in the case you have a burner or if for some reason you don't want to use the Signal usernames. If memory serves they added a feature for the windows version of the app that prevents screen shots from being taken while a video call is running.

Well that’s unfortunate, I don’t remember any trick/hack to make it work? It is a premium Burner app number, I set it up on WhatsApp over 3 years ago and still working great. Maybe WhatsApp changed up vetting VoIP?

Your best bet is to grab a cheap prepaid SIM card just to register the account. liubit 1
+ Alabastrine Posted May 28 Posted May 28 (edited) I was having a nice little occasional exchange of texts with a provider I'm trying to schedule with, which I have been keeping polite and also attempting to keep "clean" (rather painfully)... until the conversation could move over to signal where I'd feel more comfortable discussing certain private items. Sadly it seems like that provider isn't very motivated to communicate with me over a secure app and things have gone silent. I wonder if it's just the busy holday weekend or I've been flagged as a time waster 🥲 Edited May 28 by Alabastrine
+ Jamie21 Posted May 28 Posted May 28 I use signal, but no clients ever request to communicate via it. Most simply text, or WhatsApp or contact via RentMasseur or the other platforms I advertise on. I have a separate number and phone for my sex work. It’s much safer that way otherwise you risk sending the edit of your latest porn film to your mum or booking a client into the office google calendar ‘John, wants me to cum on his face’ Thursday 3pm 1.5 hours. italianboyph, moonlight and liubit 1 2
