Why Do Some Providers Avoid RM Messages?

I've encountered this several times now where I've sent an RM message and received an auto-response to the effect that I should call or text at the number given.

My preference is to establish communication via RM messages, and once I feel comfortable, then switch to texts. In other words, I'd rather not give out my phone number until the provider has given me some evidence that he's not a flake or worse.

So I'm just curious why some people are so allergic to using the RM message system. FWIW, I've never had any serious problems using it.

I am with you, but I think the boys feel:

1. that they are too lazy to log in to RM to reply

2.that they do not want a record of their activities on RM in case......

I sympathize with the second concern, but think it unavoidable. The first, well I just go on to the next guy.

And I guess that's what I don't understand. RM's servers are in a different country (I'm being US centric here) whereas their phones will have a record of their texts that potentially are subject to subpoenas--assuming they are worried about law enforcement.

RM requires a record of some back-and-forth chat via their messenger system in order for a client to leave a review.....some providers who fear a bad review may, therefore, try to avoid communication via the RM messenger.......but not saying this is the only possible reason......

I'm sure some guys just like to chat via more-direct text......

Texts are a lot easier for people on the go. I'm regards to privacy, it's also safer because it's very easy to have a burner phone on hand.

There's often a delay in receiving RM notifications on a phone compared to a direct text. Although I have run into situations where they reply to the RM message and not the text despite their profile stating otherwise.

They might also not be using their own personal number. There’s plenty of texting apps you can use for free that work just fine. I use them myself when talking to a new provider on the site.

And I don't want to trade countless rentmen messages with you until I know you're not just fantasizing.  A phone number means you have some skin in the game, not just getting the keyboard sticky.

And I'll have my communications on a platform I control (text or preferably iMessage), not one controlled by some outside party.

I prefer text because then I can look up their number to see if they have bad reviews. If they have two or more bad reviews I block the client and don't bother..

Understood. But I'm not talking about endless messages. My initial communication might be something along the lines of complimenting their pics, followed by a brief description of the sort of session I'm looking for, the general vicinity where I'm located, and a question as to rates and if he does in or out calls. And I send a face pic.

Based on the response, I generally know whether I want to send him my number. If his rate is too high or if he only does in calls and he's too far away, I generally won't. If he's arrogant or flakey, the same. I'm just trying to find out if he is someone I might want to hire.

I like providers that have their rates on their RM auto reply. I wish they all did that.

I find it’s easier to schedule with clients on a messenger app like WhatsApp or Telegram, or Signal. I’m generally not checking my RentMasseur profile although I have a notification set for any messages so that I don’t miss them. It’s just easier and more instant to deal with the booking arrangements via a messenger app rather than a website.

Many of the hits I get on the messenger are private gallery requests or just commentary stuff.

For me as a traveling advertiser, it’s inefficient to communicate by messenger because many times I may not even notice it until hours later. Maybe I have to put my phone to recognize notifications from it. But I have sound notifications on.

And like @Kevin Slater mentioned, that could equate to spending a lot of time on back and forth messages. For now I leave the auto reply on, but everything is detailed with all info. Sometimes I’ll spend 15-20 minutes crafting the most informative Auto-Reply. If I’m not busy or the person seems to have responded thoroughly, then I’ll sometimes shoot back a reply.

Issue is: many of the ones on there don’t respond back, which is partly why many providers have become adverse to it.

Simple.  Some of us contact multiple providers before making a decision: to make sure they are interested, to check a few requirements, to see how they respond.  Doing it by text puts a lot of strange numbers in my phone and increases the risk of an inappropriate message ("hey stud, wanna....") popping up at an inappropriate time (it happens).  Of course, once the date is firm I have no problem switching to text.

I heard that RM messenger doesn't have enough cybersecurity. That's why I'd never set anything up via it.

The thing is: we’re not getting paid for doing that though. If I were to answer all the messages on RentMen 1 by 1, and sit and wait/respond for replies: that would equate to a 16 hour work shift. I’d might as well get a job at a call center and at least earn something 🤦🏾‍♂️ 

I advertise on Adam4Adam which has this feature standard: but even then I just send out Pre-written copy paste messages to inquires. Matter of fact, I always have tons of messages in queue:

I may send 1 or 2 messages out of courtesy to acknowledge the client, but that’s if they’ve written something that sounds thought out and relevant to answer.
 

The RentMen chat feature is innovative, but we’re not getting paid. That’s the problem. Just like the private picture requests which I never respond to anymore. If clients want more interaction, we need to get paid more. Not just on a possibility.

I was shocked when a “client” told me he clicked my website link and there was a message that popped up “warning, this site may be trying to steal your information”  It’s a default message because I guess people were falling for scams. But, after that I had to again modify my auto reply.

So, here's my tire-kicking:

-- are you interested in meeting me? Not every provider is. I'm 70.

-- kissing?  It's important so I ask even if it is mentioned in the ad.

-- safe or bare? Not often specified in an ad.

-- compensation? I have my limits too.

Only the last one gets answered in every case. I prefer to get past these before going to a telephone number.  If some of you guys don't like that, there are others in the business. I find providers to have fun with, and if I don't, well, I get to keep the money.  Wheeeeeeee!

And I forgot:  location of the date? Sometimes I need a provider offering in calls (not everyone does) and sometimes I am not up for greasy sheets in the No-tell-motel.

Step 2: After you’ve had a fantastic session with an RM escort, remind him that you can’t give him his well-earned 5 star review unless you’ve communicated with him thru RM messaging. Send your escort a message thru RM and say you look forward to hearing from him. After he responds, you’re ready to create an RM review. 

Step 3: Repeat often with many RM escorts. 👍😃😘

Rather a lot of trouble to contact someone who expects to take money from me.  I wouldn't do it for a plumber or dentist or lawyer.
