It’s appalling to me that people are still hooking up with such frequency, but my friends and I are seeing it happen every day in both the straight and gay communities. People are off work or working from home and have the free time to do it. They rationalize it by saying I don’t have the virus, you don’t have the virus, so it’s okay for us to get together. Sadly I think a lot of people feel they are invincible. And while some of them may be able to handle this virus, most of us know its about more than how we ourselves react to the virus - it's about how it can affect those we pass it on to. Im afraid some people will never take this seriously - either because they are in denial, selfish, or too prideful to take direction and advice from the experts.

Even though I understand they need to make a living and we are all human, I’ve been keeping record of escorts in my area actively promoting their services and they are now blacklisted for life. Those who didn’t are whitelisted. If those irresponsible are doing this with a disease that is killing thousands right now I don’t even want to think what they are doing re’ other STIs.

This is exactly why RM should adopt more of what Backpage used to do. You would pay for your ad to be visible per city. I have thought of doing just what you stated above, but fearful some would blacklist me for posting travel dates as @lonely_john mentioned. Designating myself as available while in safe mode and posting a travel date related to my home city on here I feel is an already big risk of misconception about currently taking appointments.

Having an ad on is bad, announcing travel dates, as @MrMattBig smartly preempts, feels especially insulting considering a big chunk of the typical clients are in the age range where most people are dying from Covid19. SMH.

I enjoy looking at the ads. I see no problem with putting up an ad which might generate future income. However, I am not hiring right now and if the escort is not planning on working now, that should be made clear in the ad.

To those who are hooking up, going to parties, attending religious services, attending celebrations, you may not believe you are going to get sick and if you are lucky you will not. However, someone will get sick and as shown in New Rochelle NY where more than 300 cases were linked to a single exposure, one person can cascade into dozens. I blacklisted those with their rentmen ads on, not using the freeze or covid19 options. There are some who are even traveling. It’s frankly irresponsible and insulting to clients.

Sorry, what is your thinking process here? If they go with their ad live and they clearly set their status as AVAILABLE NOW FOR THE NEXT X HOURS. Sorry but I do not need to ask ANYTHING. TOP OF MIND MARKETING MY ASS. Everyone is free to do as they wish, so do I. Some people will care, others clearly won’t. They don’t give a fuck about human lives? Neither do I about theirs. And if by chance someone asks me I will tell what I saw and I will NOT recommend them.

Maybe this doesn't belong on this thread, but has any escort tried applying for unemployment in their state? In theory, "gig workers" should be eligible, subject to having some kind of documentation of income. I assume most escorts are like me, and filed taxes for years as a self-employed whatever. That solves the short-term income problem, in theory.
