Have you found that escorts will usually offer a lower rate for multiple hours (ie 300 first hour, 500 for two hours). I inquired to an escort who answered his rate was $300/hr times the number of hours.

I’m a 2-hour session guy. 90% of the time, providers who quote $300 are fine with $500 for two hours.

In his defense, when I objected to 350 he quickly quoted me 300 for the hour. But I feel bad about that. What if I accepted 300? It gets the 'meeting' off to an awkward start. Or am I just too sensitive?

I agree. I've always accepted the rate quoted. Never haggled.

 

Surprisingly though, a stellar man has the most reasonable rate, while those who have charged more, have been, to varying degrees, less so.

the only time I haggled was with well-known porn actor Chad Connors a few years ago......he quoted a bit of a "I'm a famous porn star" rate and I balked at it, especially after he added that his hand and lower arm were in a cast....he agreed to lower the rate and all went perfectly at the meet......

Regarding multi-hour rates: if someone requests $300 an hour then I will go $500 but no more.

I hear “I request $300/hr; 2 hours is $600” (and occasionally 3 hours is $900). I politely decline. The notion that a second or third hour, which is likely to be spent in polite conversation, would be double/triple creates a disconnect for me.

The only argument I can see for this is that the second or third hour would otherwise be spent with another client at the first hour rate. Fair enough.

 

I heard a rule of thumb some time ago that the second and third hours be 50% of the first hour. I think that’s a good starting point.

I hadn't thought of it before @down to business mentioned it, but it makes sense that since rates are no longer posted on RM, providers can't easier see what their competition is charging. So some "testing" the market might be what they do.

 

The inability to post rates on RM as a result of FOSTA/SUSTA is probably why you're seeing the spike in prices. As you pointed out, providers can't see what their competition is charging, and probably don't have a great handle on what the local market is willing to pay. Unless you're a well-known provider and/or industry actor, I can't imagine most guys are actually getting $300/hour. But maybe I'm wrong...

Canadian escorts do not suffer the same handicap and it appears pricing of hourly rates has remained reasonably stable. Some escorts even agree to accepting prices they charged when a client made his initial appointment even though hourly rates have increased slightly. I suspect this grandfathering principle applies only to regulars.

I would respectfully disagree with that. It is not that hard to search for 10-15 guys in your area, in the same age bracket, body type, review/no review etc. and ask them what their rates are. If you are going to be a professional, put in an effort, do your homework and understand your market.

I agree that a professional can do these things.

 

Nonetheless, when I message a cute, young guy who lacks any business savvy he’ll not have thought about this. He simply picks a number that seems right and sticks with it. So, I hear things like “yes, the second and third hours are also $300 each”.

I’m not going to presume to give anyone a microeconomics lesson via text so it becomes a lose-lose. (Assuming he is savvy, has thought about it and still stuck to his above-the-norm rate.)

Besides in Canada is legal while here cops occasionally get involved.

You can always cut a deal with someone local you see twice a month or more often.

 

300 a month unsustainable? I'm aware most Americans don't have $400 in savings in case something happens. Are we clients 9.9% (folks who own 1,2 to 3 millions)?

 

I know some local escorts who in order to book a flight to a small market city they require one or two regulars to prepay them. They do it just to make sure the trip will make financial sense and after arriving they won't start receiving all the texts cancelling because of sickness, death in the family, business trip out of town, etc.

 

@Mocha Would you consider doing that instead of booking fees? Just have a regular prepaying you for a couple of hours in X city before you book the hotel. That way even if nobody else shows up you're out of red numbers before going there.

You definitely see some price changes with some of these newer escorts as they get into a market. A new guy came into Denver recently and I inquired and he quoted me $300 so I politely declined knowing that I have a regular who I can see and enjoy for $220.

 

Then after maybe a month or so I looked at his profile again and noticed that he still didn't have any reviews so curious I contacted him through the text(previously it was through Rent.men) and he quoted me $200 so I went ahead and booked it. Unfortunately something on his end came up and he had to cancel, but I thought the price change was interesting.
