There are a few important changes that are in the works that I wanted to let the community know about so that there are no surprises and that you can properly plan for them.
Sometime before the end of the year (most likely in November), there is going to be an update to the Invision Power Board (IPB) software which will require users to login with their email address instead of their display name.  This means if you have to login to the site, you would type in your email address to access the site once that update is applied.  Once logged in, your email address will not be shown anywhere.  You current username will continue to be used once logged into the site to view and post.
With the October release of IPB, it will introduce a new feature that allows admins to prune older private messages that have not had any replies within a certain amount of time.  We currently have over 1M private messages exchanged by users going back for 20 years.  This takes up over 1000MB of space within the site's database.  I plan to use the new feature to prune messages that have not been replied to within 5 years.  If you have older private messages that are important for you (for sentimental purposes or contain helpful information), please be sure to save an offline copy for yourself.  You could also simply just reply to the message again so that it has recent activity.  That would automatically exclude it from being pruned.
As part of my resiliency planning, I've been trying to figure out how the site would continue to operate if something happened to me.  We've seen what happened when Daddy died...  if we don't have someone who understands how to run a website and how to maintain the IPB software, we could find ourselves in a bad place.  Finding people that understand all of this is difficult if not impossible.  As a result, I've been focused on how to remove this dependancy.  My plan is to have the site moved to being hosted by Invision itself.  They would take care of all of the underlying server technology and ensure the platform is compatible with the software.  Any updates could be applied from the Admin area of the site without needing to understand about the rest of the stuff under the hood.  Sometime before the end of the year (most likely in November), I will need to schedule a day or two to take the site offline for the migration to ensure we don't lose any data from the time I start the export until the time it's migrated and restored.  Having Invision host the site is somewhat more expensive than what we're doing today, but I think it's a critical step to ensure the site's continued operations should I get hit by a bus or something similar.   I don't have specific dates yet for the above changes.  The first two changes are dependent on the IPB software being released and me being able to test them successfully before applying.  The last change will need to be coordinated with the Invision hosting team to make sure they have someone available on their side to handle the import after I finish exporting our data.

Exactly. Immunity wanes over time. From what I have read we don't know how long the immunity from the small pox vaccine lasts. Though all of us who were vaccinated probably carry some immunity, it may not be strong enough to afford what is called "sterilizing immunity", which is prevention of infection from the smallpox virus, which is considered effectively extinct. It's the same concept why people over 50 are recommended to get the shingles vaccine even though we all had chicken pox as children.
Also, articles I have read say that the smallpox vaccine is 85% effective at preventing infection with monkey pox. So with only ~85% protection under optimal ("fresh") immunity conditions multiplied by the factor of waning immunity over the decades since receiving the smallpox vaccine, our protection from monkey pox infection probably isn't great.
As of July 15, there are 461 cases in NYC, up from around 336 a week on July 13 (this ramp up surprises even pessimist me), and none of the 336 individuals identify as women. So odds are that it's still spreading in the population in NYC (and other cities that have recently had events that promote/lead to lots of body-to-body contact, such as Pride in San Francisco).

Chances are that we are only at the beginning of the outbreak. The New Yorker had a good article on the situation a couple of days ago.

For me (and acknowledging that everybody has their risk acceptance levels), these are scary numbers. So now, after well over a year off massage tables because of COVID, I am again abstaining, at least until I can get the monkey pox vaccine.

Even if you got the vaccine in 1972, that was a looong time ago.  50 years.   Immunity doesn’t last that long.  My gay doctor in nyc who sees all kinds of stuff pop up and is super preventative  just gave me shots a few years back for all the stuff I got as a kid, like measles mumps rubella. When I told him, “but I got these already” he laughed and said, “yes. But they don’t last forever”.   Haha.    Bitch.

Although this is a viewpoint promulgated by social justice "warriors"..I beg to differ. When it comes to physical attraction you can't tell someone they should like women without a vagina or who recently installed a vagina just because they want to be viewed publicly as a woman. That isn't gonna fly. Same way if I tell you I don't eat pork you can't get me to like it just because you shaped it into a roast beef ! Sexual attraction and personal rights aren't always going to agree on perspective.

Just because one is in the closet they should not suppress their feelings and the things that were done to them. If you were SA you need to seek out both the law and therapy. You are not a victim you are a survivor. I won't let you use the bipoc thing when it comes sexual assult. All u have to do is show up to the police station and then your taken to a hospital room that is completely private with you and one nurse, since you've been through this before you know how intimate and personal this is. Stop using your internalized homophobia to justify someone else attacking you. I love you. I see you and you're important. I'm completely challenging your thinking here and moving forward.

Therein lies the axe you wish to grind with me, and that is Rentmasseur as an escort site.  That argument is asinine.  The very nature of the site is for massage.  The very nature of Rent.men is for escorting.  This is my point!

Apparently this isn’t coming through clear enough.  The very definition of masseur is the operative action of providing a massage.  The sexual actions then bisects escorting as the main attraction and what has made Rentmasseur a primary escort site versus legitimate massage.

I warned this was a rant, however your argument in favor of escorting on a ‘massage’ site seems to be lost in translation here.

Just had the best massage experience I have ever had w Rob.  Wow.   Super deep massage.  His body is killer.  Friendly guy.   And every extra anyone could imagine was there.   90 minutes of heaven.

For comparisons, my very subjective opinions are below:
Ian from Hawaii may be more technically gifted and is visually and personality wise perfect but he has his limits (much to my chagrin).
Steve, who left NYC recently for S America, definitely had better massage skills but he could also be a little dispassionate.
Jorge M is pretty much everything everyone  says he is, and even though his extras are equally generous as Rob, I had more fun today which is saying something.  Rob was really in the moment more
I definitely enjoyed this massage much more than Leo, easily twice as much.  Leos’s extras were way more limited also.
I saw Anton recently as well, and it was okay, but the extras were again more limited.  I need to go back and see if the massage could be better    My fault for not asking for deeper as I know he is trained
No slam on any guys above but I thought comps might help people here.

I think I also read one comment somewhere where they wrote Rob didn’t fulfill the sensual requirements, but he did say he always fulfilled the sensual part  of his massages when I asked him about that comment.   I’ll assume that comment was some troll?
Rob didn’t seem like he was going to be permanently here anymore so def think about that when you see his ad.

That is just pure bullshit. No doubt the guys there picked up on your superior attitude, and decided they didn't want to deal with it. It's been suggested, or outright said, in another forum that Asians are just golddiggers. but I think that is the result of a few bruised egos among white guys who didn't get their pick of Asian dick.

Jdy718 reacted to Jarrod_Uncut in Providers - problems with racism?
I concurrently agree with you. Your point is valid.
However, I can’t help but feel you may be slightly erring on a side of “privilege” rather than “fact” in some things you say. You feel “it’s never happened to me, thus it shouldn’t exist”. Even if you may not have experienced something personally, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t happen to anyone.
I also don’t look at just the “dangerous” side of racism, but the “subtle and condescending” racism still exists. I can give examples even: There’s a client https://rent.men/Shanestur who contacted me, who had several great reviews from other providers on his profile. However, upon closer inspection of me clicking each escort who reviewed him: they were all White guys who reviewed him positively. 1 was a negative review, but the rest were fine.
However, his communication with me was far less than stellar. Not only did he text me a gif of a “stereotypical” Black woman as a “funny” excuse for taking hours to respond to an important message I sent him, but he flaked on the session and ignored messages to confirm the booking that he claimed he would attend in the morning. Which subsequently caused me to be inconvenienced in the process. And if all that wasn’t bad enough, when I tried to get him to take responsibility for his bullshit and flakiness, he had the nerve to blame me for his flaking out.

THAT: is what I called racism. It’s not always the KKK, hanging on a tree racism that we read in history books. I view racism as things like clients being flaky, making like I don’t mean anything (superiority) and don’t deserve anything for my spent time. And from talks on the forum, it seems White providers deal with this less than those of other backgrounds, specifically Black.

It’s the disrespect and lack of consideration, that fuels racism towards certain sex workers.
