I know this sounds like a moot point: but I been letting myself fall into this habit, and lately the past 2-3 times I’ve felt worse after. Not in the sense of didn’t enjoy it, but the fact that I’m doing the same thing I’d technically be getting paid for. And the reason I feel worse isn’t just because not getting paid: but it just seems the lack of appreciation and return from the guys. They see it as just a hookup, but they don’t see the behind the scenes shit I do to make that happen. I’m usually traveling, or booking hotels, coordinating my body and mind to ensure I’m horny enough to give them a good time. I guess sex work spoils me to an extent because of the gratitude and giving of the client, which in turn covers hotels (which lately, is my main means of hosting), travel, bills, etc. I feel lot of these non client hookups are so meaningless. They aren’t trying to establish a relationship, or contribute to any of the expenses I have to make the arrangement happen, etc. I know technically, casual hookups and dating shouldn’t be based on “Money”, but many of these guys are wanting the same thing a paying client wants: no strings, getting fucked, leave after it’s over. The past few times I’ve had free sex, it’s felt almost the same as meeting a client. I usually “allow” myself up to one freebie encounter per week or 2. But sometimes even that isn’t worth it. Lot of these guys aren’t bringing anything differently to the table. It’s the same 30 minutes to an hour of fun, and then they go about their usual and I don’t even get paid. That’s why I’m considering deleting my hookup/phone apps because it’s just a waste of energy sometimes. But I like being able to meet someone I’m attracted to, who’s closer to or under my age every so often. However, some clients including the older guys, are fairly attractive. Which fixes that urge. So in some ways, it’s almost pointless to even be looking for anything else. I wouldn’t mind having a relationship with someone, but the cards for it haven’t been lining up at all lately. It’s either a distance issue, or circumstances issue. I think I’m going to start only using hookup apps as a low cost alternative to my other ads. So even if I can’t get the amount I normally do, it’ll be something. Like the other month, I hooked up with a couple fairly decent guys for 1/4 of what I normally charge. I know that’s probably frowned upon by many professionals, but: when you’re in a hotel room or visiting a new city and hours go by without a booking, I feel I get restless. Like I almost have to “make use” of the room, even if one client might have shown up earlier in the day. When in reality, they can be helping me out by like.. creating some content or video for my website 🤷🏾♂️ But like I say, the past 3 hookups I had were great: but afterwards I just felt I wasted my time because non of the guys were really serious. They fuck and then go back to their own life and agenda, and act like they’re too busy to meet again unless it’s on THEIR limited schedule. So, I think going forward I’m only going to use hookup apps as “discount booking sites” if and when I have spare time. I’ll probably have to stick with going to nightclubs if I’m wanting to socialize outside of clients.

Why I rather go to cities mainly for pre-booked visits…

I have before, and I do not. Besides, that has to do with traveling how? -
Why I rather go to cities mainly for pre-booked visits…
JB_Studio38 replied to JB_Studio38's topic in Questions About Hiring
I started to title this: “how often do you see an escort’s ad (one who’s not normally posted in the area) and (correctly) assume they’re already there and ready to meet now?” But not enough space in the title 🙃 -
I reserved a room for 2 days (and usually even that’s rare, as I often book rooms only one day at a time). I had one person pre-booked, but then another who was contacting before I arrived, but he was reaching as if I was available and in town right then. Overly eager to come over to me, before even asking if I was actually hosting much less: in town. Like umm, why am I supposed to show up to a city, before I even have anyone confirmed? Do clients all think we just pack bags, book hotels and travel out of our own pocket before we even get a client? It may make sense for some, but doesn’t make sense to me. And as I have to explain all the time: “seeing my ad in a city does not necessarily mean I’m in town and available now”. But then, lot of times when that is the case, some still bullshit and flake. Another guy act like he was going to come to my hotel yesterday afternoon: flaked. Him and the other guy. Only the 1 pre-booked client showed up. It’s annoying, because usually I would have just booked the room 1 night….and either went home, or on to the next destination. But: as previously discussed, one night in a hotel room often doesn’t feel long enough. It’s like there’s a caveat to both methods: if I try to plan a trip for pre-booked clients only, the ones who think I’m there now won’t be available when I get there. If I show up unannounced, then I’m relying too heavily on the possibility of a client, or enough clients will book during the time I’m there. But I wish there was a universal way to convey, not everyone wants to gamble going to a city, booking a hotel and waiting around for clients: knowing that most of the inquiries out here are often flakes anyway. That’s why sometimes people ask me to meet in a city listed in my ad: “hey are you in XXX city today/tomorrow?” And I have to be like yes, I’m available to come for 2 hour minimum. Then they’re shocked. I never implied that I’m in a city at that moment. Most cities I only go for special request only, because I hate sitting around all day waiting on people to show up. Same thing when I’m at home, I never book a hotel unless a client has booked and confirmed. Most every time I’ve tried to do it otherwise, it’s been a waste. Only way not to, is if you have a standing incall place to host regularly. Also the reason it often gets mixed up and something to note: With RentMen if we don’t set our “home location” to a city, it will not show up in the main listings. Idk if clients realize that. So, lot of times I move my ad to a city before going, so I make sure clients notice and can the ad before I arrive. But they wrongly assume I’m already there. Also my home area sucks for bookings, and I don’t like to waste my RentMen days advertising in a city where I’m getting hardly 0 bookings Day after day after day. I rather advertise in different cities.

Are some potential clients sometimes too sensitive?
JB_Studio38 replied to marylander1940's topic in Questions About Hiring
I say +1 on that, but not all guys who hire behave that way. However, even if they aren’t off their rocker normally… the reasons people come to us might make them turn into undesirables. Though it’s no excuse. I don’t want someone being rude and disrespectful towards me just because they can’t be transparent in their marriage/relationship situation, or tried to to hookup with other guys and it didn’t work out. Those are all valid reasons, but not reasons to take it out on me. Ha, funny you mention. He actually reached out to me again the other night 🤦🏾♂️ That’s why sometimes I don’t block people, because I just want to see how far their stupidity goes…for future reference. Another example of a client who “blocked me”, contacts me again, then forgets I’m blocked: I’m convinced the guy is either off his rocker, or he’s just intentionally trolling. It’s just sad that he’s actually someone I MET (once and only once). Then again, that’s just how it is. In my case, the area wasn’t a traveling city…it’s the nearest major city to the area I reside. I addressed this extensively in a now closed thread, but some cities in this country (America) just simply hold animosity towards sex workers/Escorts/RentMen whatever. My area is one of them. Even some of the clients who pay…will do so grudgingly. And a lot of disrespect, unreliability, attitudes, etc. That’s why I’m often traveling, but I’ve been starting to enjoy it less lately. Probably because I haven’t been hitting places I really want to go lately: Like somewhere tropical but, that’ll be changing soon. I don’t know if I deal with more Jackwads than others, but I definitely don’t have an issue bringing it up more than others. Lot of these guys who pull the crap behavior, they have reports from other guys saying the same thing. So I know it’s not just me. However I know I’m dealing with it more just because the area I reside in isn’t escort friendly. I know “relocation” is the ultimate solution however, In the meantime I try to travel as often as I can: and stay with deposits and keep my phone number off my ads except for registered clients who can READ. -

Rate question (no its not what you think)
JB_Studio38 replied to BeefyDude's topic in Questions About Hiring
When it comes down to it: if someone asked the average basketballer, movie actor, or “hot executive” for a paid fling, their prices would be something astronomical 🌙 ☀️ Granted $1,000 isn’t the typical price for an hour with an escort, however: it’s not unheard of throughout the overall industry with women and especially NYC. I have never worked the NYC market so I simply can’t comment on what’s usual or expected. But from just overall hearsay over time: any price would likely go. I’ll also add: if you’re visiting someone, whether escort or client, it’s hardly ever necessary to use hotel parking downtown. However, I know the annoyances of trying to find parking in places like DC (your hotel actually had very easy parking that night…But my friend’s hotel closer to downtown, I was parking around the block, and paying something like $20 a day on the stupid parking app lol). Also Orlando hotel resorts often have no other options to park: except for their garages. There’s been times I’ve left with $40 subtracted from my rate, after a few hours or overnight. Denver street parking is super manipulative: you have to read 3 signs just to figure out whether it’s okay to park. By then, you’ve already gotten a ticket, maybe even a boot 🔐 lol. The massage table debate often comes up but: it’s all down to Preference. I personally don’t feel a massage table is any easier than a well structured bed (there’s also ways to simulate a massage table but, I won’t reveal all my knowledge). Plus the phobia of a table collapsing, was always on my mind. And like you said: I’m not carrying a table around, hotel to hotel, City to city. It’s too much. I already have lots of luggage, a table would be the equivalent to a pet crate. Not to mention the potential of being seen doing “business” out of a hotel, is not desired to be obvious. But again, to each is own. That’s just my preference. Like I say, it sucks that sites like Adam 4 Adam have essentially gotten rid of “escort” and changed for massage. Also some people are so afraid of repercussions, that they’ll reach out to Masseur ads first, or say they’re looking for a massage, but have their Dick and ass included. Escort seems to be a term being phased out, thanks to politics 🤫 -
Rate question (no its not what you think)
JB_Studio38 replied to BeefyDude's topic in Questions About Hiring
Just curious: what was it that you thought, we were supposed to think 🤔 That said, it’s good that you mentioned “masseur”, but it didn’t quite seem that way initially. Because $200 for an escort certainly isn’t “too high”. As for the $160/$180, as someone who’s done those prices before, I can tell you why it’s harder to find: ESPECIALLY if you’re talking about a traveling provider (which once again, $200 is just a straight forward number). Hotels are more expensive. Most clients are leery of “budget friendly” hotels. I don’t mind budget friendly hotels, however not all are equal. In Seattle couple years ago, most anything budget-brand was nothing nice. I had to stay outside of the city, just to find something suitable. And in regards to: “I mean some money is better than no money, they are getting 100% of the fee”. But is it? I know for me: part of why I have gotten away from such rates is because, $150 is a good price only in numbers. Meaning, if I need $500, I need to see 3-4 clients at $150 minimum. That assumes non of the clients flake, AND they are all able to meet on the same window of days, the 3 other clients can meet. I’m here to tell you: that rarely happens. When it does happen, it may be 1 week, but not every week. Or it may be in one city, but not every city. If someone were to book a $160/180 right now: I’d be grateful, but it would just be enough for immediate expenses. When I was young and starting out, $80 sounded good to me. But then I realize just how fast that goes, and how many people I have to see for it to add up. And lot of times, it’s spinning tires trying to get $100/$150 bookings to add up. It can be hard to save, because it likely goes into hotels or other daily expenses. That’s why for me personally: I now have a $250 starting session, with $200 being the base. $250-$500 is the range I desire. Also like a previous topic I posted: a longer session which earns $1,000-$2,000 is going to really make a difference. I know Masseur rates tend to be a different ball game, but not everyone runs it the same. That’s why I’ve moved away from the masseur title, and consider myself more of an overall experience. However in the Midwest and much of America: Masseur has become a safer way of saying “Escort”. I can understand, but there has to be an understanding that “$200 without a table” Is not “overpriced” because, massage may just be the title. Perhaps they charge $200 for the cost of the overall experience, and massage is just part of it. Now: where lower rates do come in handy, is if I’ve already made enough, or I’m in a city where business is steady throughout the week. In that case; it can stretch and accentuate, what has already been earned. -
Good screening is always a good thing. However, I’ll still ask for deposits even from non-first time clients as needed. Reason being: some clients have shown up the first time, but may still have something come up/not show up the 2nd or subsequent time. So in case it ever comes up, one should not feel “offended” if a deposit is asked for after the first time. Like I said before, if said advertiser is spending their own money upfront before getting paid (whether that be hotel, travel/commute, etc): a deposit may still be asked, whether it’s the first or 5th time.

Messaging and Blocking on rentmen.com question?
JB_Studio38 replied to scam buster's topic in Questions About Hiring
As far as I know yes, the person will still get the message. But that doesn’t stop the recipient from being able to report the message/profile to RM…If it’s any seedy nature to it. They’ll simply just not be able to see the full profile. -
Longer session clients are golden…wish there was more
JB_Studio38 replied to JB_Studio38's topic in Questions About Hiring
I think you’re putting the 🛒 before the…dick lol. You’re making like the escort comes to you, and then initiates contact because a client is ugly…that’s not how it works. We are not a “we buy ugly homes” model. What actually happens is: people hit us up and most times we have no idea what they look like besides perhaps a bit of screening on age, top/Btm preference, etc. The attraction part is icing on the cake. You think if someone who looks like Beiber opened the door, I would say: “don’t worry about paying me, you’re attractive to me!” No, Beiber would be paying just like anyone else. And sometimes those types pay even more lol. For me, it’s not even about looks. The attraction for me comes in the form of how attentive and desirable they are to turning me and each other on. If they seem pleased and eager to please, that’s attractive to me. However, it’s not uncommon to come across clients who are truly just hot and I enjoy myself with them. But I’m not sleeping with them because they are ugly and I’m hot: I just know they have a need to fulfill, and discretion. Rather than do the same thing with one random guy after the next on hookup apps, I find it more purposeful in what we do. Works for me because I avoid the drama and reputation of “sleeping around” on the small world 🌎, which are hookup apps. That’s just by default, whether the client is hot or not. -
Which massage sites do you refer to? Because I know on RentMasseur, one can disable email messages accordingly. And of course it’s definitely not 1999 lol, however email is still the shit: in the form of instant messaging. Now THAT was the shit I remember lol. I can do RentMasseur emails, but not so much RentM instant messages. I always try to send at least 1 reply even after my auto message goes out: just to let them know I’m real. But not many seem to transition to phone. I won’t use messenger solely to book an appointment. I rarely ever take unexpected phone calls from my ads anymore. Too many times, I’ve been sucked into chatting with someone or asked explicit questions when it was off timing. So even though people may have preference to call, it doesn’t suit everyone.

Longer session clients are golden…wish there was more
JB_Studio38 replied to JB_Studio38's topic in Questions About Hiring
I’m just speaking from a general standpoint. In my case, I already know “financial goals unmet”, is moreso due to the fact that the region I’m in, isn’t very working guy supportive. There’s some decent clients here and there, but most times: it’s usually last minute bookings or guys who only book once in a blue. Or they book and then flake. Hence why I try to keep regular travel every 2 to 3 weeks as much as possible 🤦🏾♂️ I feel pricing for this biz is unpredictable across the board and doesn’t necessarily follow the same patterns. I could be charging $150 and have the same number of clients as charging $500. Only difference would be, I would be making $150 instead of $500. If someone is going to pay, they will. I have occasionally met with guys for rates lower than I normally would, and they may only come around a time or 2. Their perceived value of sex, says less than what I am capable of asking and getting. -
Longer session clients are golden…wish there was more
JB_Studio38 replied to JB_Studio38's topic in Questions About Hiring
Well the whole gist of this thread isn’t necessarily about comparing different prices that escorts offer: moreso about any longer arrangement booking that is goes into the $1,000+ range. Even with the amount I did get, I had to distribute it carefully because I’ve been in such a drought these past couple months. And going a week or 2 without a client and getting a 1 hour session helps, but it goes so fast and then, I’m right back to square one. I don’t think any of us started with: “I only want to make just enough to pay bills/groceries, and barely get by”. And lot of people try to make like you have to have a 2nd everyday regular job to make it in the biz. Which is not true because, traveling guys like myself that wouldn’t work. Like this longer booking I took, I had to commute 2 states away just to get it. And while I was there, I even booked in another client so…having one successful venture can often lead to the next. But 5 days is a long time though, and it sounds like maybe it was a couple who knew each other? In that case I could see it being a vacation definitely. The other thing too, I often hear about clients here and elsewhere doing longer sessions with White and Latin/Asian/Etc. I know that’s a touchy topic but, it plays a part. However most of my longer sessions tend to be White guys, I know that’s just how it goes. Also in my case, @pubic_assistance he was not “lonely” but had time alone for a few days…won’t go into the details but, let’s say he wasn’t single or bad looking lol. -
…and not to seem unappreciative of the hourly/under $500 bookings. But: I had a booking over the weekend that was a longer visit over 1,000. I only had 1 other visit like that all year, and it makes a big difference. I know $250+ is a lot for most dudes to give for an “experience” anyway, but I had to run it by someone who sees me occasionally the other day: Higher amount bookings tend to be the most important thing to biz, next to regulars of course. Some of these guys only want to throw a couple hundred bucks, but they’ll talk all about how they spent $1,000 on this, or $2,000 on that luxury like it’s nothing. Which is fine, it’s their money and prerogative… But at the same time, I can’t always multiply 200 or 300 by 5 clients in a week. Especially in markets that already have plenty of new and local escorts and masseurs, but not really enough clients to go around. So as I explained to someone the other day, “I feel like you expect me to feel asking $250/$300 is too expensive”. What if that is the only booking I have that weekend, or in some cases the whole week? Figure out how to make that last. It really doesn’t. I know some clients probably don’t wish to spend an overnight or two days with someone. But it’s looking really attractive to go the longer session only route when doing certain bookings/locations. Like lately, I’m cutting back on the “go to a city and see 5 clients” because that’s not really always the turn out. Even after sifting thru 1,000 messages. If they haven’t texted and done what’s needed to confirm, most times it’s just inquiries and guys bullshitting around… So 5 “clients” could end up only being 1 actually booking (true story last month in one city, but fortunately it was an extended time booking).

Pushiness about Estimated Time Arrival (E.T.A.) ?
JB_Studio38 replied to marylander1940's topic in Questions About Hiring
I get where you are coming from with that. In my case, I wasn’t coming for you for simply not planning a precise eta, but moreso not coordinating one. And regarding those who would say “consider the appointment cancelled if 15 minutes late”, I’ll be like: and I’m keeping the deposit and/or you owe me the half amount 🤷🏾♂️ However in your case, you cancelled on him and that’s the error: He replied at 11:05 PM: "Are you here?" I said "NO" and he asked "Are you on Uber?', I once again told him I was walking 7 blocks to get to him. "What's your ETA?". I replied: "Are you high?". I had to cancelled, I can't handle this goldfish / microwave mindset they have when it comes to others. I might have overreacted but I had enough. You cancelled because he asked what’s your ETA? I don’t see anything wrong with that, that wasn’t aggressive, just trying to figure out when you’re arriving. Maybe you 2 discussed a time frame somewhere in there. But you didn’t allude to that being the case. Exactly how much notice did you give? Regardless, not trying to beat you up as it happens and people get mixed up trying to plan dick appointments all the time. But all this is why I don’t do biz anymore without deposits because, I would be hard pressed dealing with a situation that gets cancelled just for whatever bullshit reason comes to mind. I also avoid short notice. Available now is merely, “text now to make appointment” Especially considering my commute is never 7 blocks walking distance away, most times my commute is rarely less than 50 miles, to get to appointments. And some clients can be impatient yet don’t always convey how busy they are. “I’m free all day” should be dropped from all vocabulary because many of them never are. Just like the guy is just “sitting at home” waiting for you, many clients do the same. -
Pushiness about Estimated Time Arrival (E.T.A.) ?
JB_Studio38 replied to marylander1940's topic in Questions About Hiring
Okay, you know I’m going to have to go in on you..so, just put your seat 💺 belt on because I’m about to give it to you straight 😂 First of all, idk what the conversation was like prior to what you started with. I don’t imagine that it went from getting dressed to “on your way” in such short notice, how much notice did you actually give him? And even if you did get dressed in 2 minutes, that’s not a time frame. Y’all should have set a time frame, and if it was less than 1 hours notice, it’s no wonder it didn’t work out. Clients and escorts need to discard this idea that we can meet at fast as an Uber can arrive: plan ahead and avoid miscommunication. It doesn’t have to be days ahead…just 2 to 4 hours can make a difference. This is why I stress clearly I require at least 2 hours notice for all bookings. I don’t care if you’re at the hotel room next door to me…or should I say, UNLESS you’re at the hotel room next door to me lol. Even yesterday I had to tell a client: The earliest I can get to you is, two hours from now (would have been 9:30 p.m.). Reason why I ask two hours notice is because: it gives time for both people to figure out location and time of arrival. It also limits rushing and leaves time for unexpected time delays. The other day, a client of mine went to the wrong hotel which had a similar room number as mine. Since it was less than two hours notice, he forgot to get the actual name of the hotel 😂 You seemed spur of moment, he seemed unexpected…It was just an unnecessary dumpster fire that could have been avoided. I don’t think it’s just the young generation. I have seen older guys blow up my phones texting…asking ETA, here yet, etc etc. almost like they’re clutching their phones in anxiety. It doesn’t need to be that way. When I’m doing non-business hookups, I don’t rush the guy. I just make sure everything is okay and chill if they coming to me. Worked just fine the other night. Sex is a privilege, not a right. Patience is key. It’s funny how people always want it fast when THEY want it, but when I want it: they want to drag it out and take days, weeks, YEARS to return a text. I often see a common issue where clients try to plan too much other stuff around booking a date, non of which involves the escort: but expects the escort to drop their whole life and rush to their beck. Ah, no. If they can plan this and that and everything else, they can plan time with us too. Not some last minute, spur of the moment, now or never type of interaction.. -

Providers not responding? Am I blacklisted?
JB_Studio38 replied to afterfallhours1's topic in Questions About Hiring
This is perfect, long as you’re not sending it to multiple guys in a day/weekend (obviously it would suck for the other guys to not get booked if you did). It shows you’ve read the ad, you offer more than one time option, it’s not last minute (which could be ignored if not available), and you include stats and picture. I would consider you a serious booking and respond right away. I always say if someone does have to contact multiple ads, at least wait 1 to 2 hours in between (and that’s fast compared to the times I’ve had to wait for guys to reply back to me lol). I had someone contact me the other weekend, while I was at brunch. I call back in 20 minutes and claims he booked someone else. But then texted back after saying how he’s very interested and will reach back out in a couple weeks. Well thanks but, he couldn’t even wait 30 minutes though. And when I asked for a few details about him so I could have an idea who he is: no response 🤔 -
And another thing: I am just noticing a lot of weird shit happening from the RentMen messenger area. Guys contact and then don’t respond back, only to come around months later and not respond again: Never replied back, even when I left my contact info and details. Now the same guy: And then he doesn’t respond back again 🤷🏾♂️ Granted I’ve not wrote him off yet, but it’s this type of stuff that’s about to compel me to cut all access to communication on RentMen and RentMasseur and only be contacted thru my website. This is why I’ve once again wrote to RentMen asking for changes. And if the person had any issue with my policy, why come back around again and reach out? If he can remember from 2017-18 then he certainly can remember from September. It’s just way too many games out here. I’m trying hard not to close my RentMen messenger access, but each week I’m feeling pressed to. It’s become too much of a “Grindr”, where guys expect us to stay on there and small talk with them round the clock, and we don’t even get paid for that. RentMen needs to convert that to a paid function for US, if potential clients expect us to keep engaging.
-
That is a reasonable approach. That’s why I have included the time and date plus reference to my rates (starting at 200). But of course, all the time I get, “how much is your rate?” when I have the details for it listed in my ad. Which shows they didn’t read the ad. I don’t know how they find my number, before reading the ad. Like I say, I have mentioned to the sites about how they NEED to bring back transparency on rates (even RentMasseur who allows rates, people either don’t read it or see the one rate and expect it to cover everything). With this tik tok nonsense though, idk if things are going to get any simpler. Hence why I’m staying ahead of the game with my website and contact card. And I need to start putting my rates on it too and just sending that before I respond to anything.
-
Before RM, nobody had access to an instant messenger option. They’d have to call, text or email. Most providers would not answer a blocked number. There’s various phone options available if someone wishes to be discreet. Plus I find most people who don’t want to exchange numbers aren’t doing so because they’re so discreet. Just paranoid. That’s about as similar as the ones who would call private, and usually never show up. I’m already meeting you with likely no face or idea what you look like. Something that they probably wouldn’t dream of doing themselves. Damn sure not going to have me meeting with no phone number.
-
In the case I refer to, I am more implying like a very nominal amount to schedule. Like a $10/20 booking fee to reach the provider. That would cover the initial setup and access to the provider. And like the ads we pay for, it would likely be non refundable. From there, the client and provider could discuss whether additional deposit for travel or hosting is needed. The point is, to not be a sitting duck 🦆 for millions of texts and messengers that go nowhere day in, day out. But of course, leave it to some sites: they rather earn money from us than the “buyer”. I feel not setting a precedent for clients to pay us from the get go, is the reason why the deposit discussion keeps coming up in the first place. RentMen and A4A doesn’t allow rates posting. Lot of these guys talk to us about everything else, except the money. They want to know where we are at, if we’re in town, are we available…but nothing at all payment. Can’t put the 🛒 before the 🐎 Someone here mentioned I bring up the business part too quickly: I say it’s not brung up quick enough. No point in going over a bunch of details, only to get to the rate and/or deposit and they aren’t able to do it. And some here have said they get annoyed if the escort waits until the day of the booking to ask for a deposit. After dealing with someone last month who messaged me twice on messenger, had contacted my profile in the past, and then texted me only to say, “Sorry I only do cash”: I made sure for now on, to include it right next to my number in my auto reply. So now there’s 0 excuse going forward.

Part of the reason may be because, when I leave my phone number up…I get bombarded by spam messages like this: and and Not to mention the ones who call out the blue when I mainly prefer just text. HOWEVER, even though I let messenger be the initial contact, I have explicit instructions to text me. However, if they respond to the auto reply or say nothing at all…then I’m not going to take time out of my day to engage, because they probably just playing.

I’m still propositioning to websites: We need to move towards a Uber/Lyft model where clients are expected to pay SOMETHING upfront to book us. Mind you, when you book an Uber or Lyft, it’s no “I only do cash”. The entire amount is charged upfront. I only ask for $50/$100 deposit and some guys scared to even do that…but they expect me to pull out my credit card and book a hotel because they don’t want to book a room to host either. It’s like come on, it can’t be one sided. After awhile, you don’t want to keep playing the fool for a “potential” to earn money. I would do better gambling $100 on lottery tickets, than on a hotel where I have no appointments pre-booked that day. If we can pay for ads with our card, clients can book an appointment with theirs. You can go to dollar general, or dollar tree and buy a prepaid visa/master card. It doesn’t have to be tied to your main account. And I wouldn’t mind deposits to go towards ad costs and platinum boosts. Or some other way of outsourcing the funds to make it accessible to us. I know it can be done, the pressure just needs to happen. I know it probably can’t be as refined and play by play like Uber is (obviously when you contact Uber, you have multiple people ready at that moment and the point of contact requires less time than an actual client/escort encounter). But having dozens of RentMen messenger replies that don’t lead to an appointment? This isn’t Grindr. We pay to advertise and sometimes pay just to provide accommodations. Guys on Grindr don’t go book a hotel to host. I see it all the time around town, “I CAN’T HOST” even though there’s dozens of hotels in the area. Clients should be putting down nominal fees to request a booking with us. This culture of expecting the escort to spend, spend, spend their own money before making a dime, and the client being stubborn and unwilling to provide a deposit, let alone a picture of themselves…needs to stop. One can only be played for a fool for so long. The only way that model can work, is if you’re a single gay guy in the city with your own place. And majority of your clients are only within a few miles away. In San Francisco and New York perhaps. But not every escort lives alone in the Big city. Some can’t host or need notice to host, others like myself travel to different cities for business because their home market is dead or dried up. I can’t afford to work without deposits because that would be too much gambling. I stopped booking in-calls without a deposit, because many will cancel last minute on hosting escorts (I got called into work is a favorite line).
