There’s low barrier to entry into this business and low to zero fixed costs. If the market rate is say $300 and the minimum I want is $400 then I will turn away the $300 guys, I don’t drop my rate to $300. If I get no buyers well then I’m not in the business am I? If the market rate rises to $400 perhaps because there’s higher demand or lower supply then I’ll enter the market and get $400. I think there’s an even more egregious example than Amazon. It’s Twitter (x).
