I carry my lube (and other accessories)  in Ziploc bags when I travel. Sometimes doubled, i.e. lube in small bag, massage lotions in small bag, both into a big 1 gallon Ziploc.
Still messy *inside* the bag if an accident happens but my luggage/stuff stays out of it.

Once again Jarrod shows his true colors.   He has such great contempt for clients it's hard to believe anyone would want to hire him.    I have to believe that his reputation on this board as a complaining crank follows him on RM and any socials he might be active on these days.   If I ever contacted a provider and got the replies he seems to send (send me $$ for a conversation, I'm not in your city yet - chill out, do you actually want to meet or just bugging me, etc.,etc.,) I would run for the hills and tell any potential clients to not waste their money.

He doesn't know any single thing about that person, and seems like you did not inform him about having a roommate when making arrangements. To me that looks like a personal safety thing.
Yes, you should have told him. He's coming to a home of a stranger, that alone has a degree of risk, then he's surprised by seeing another stranger hanging out in the house, without knowing who that person is or what the intentions are.
I don't find the actions of the provider unreasonable.
I've had unpleasant experiences with opposite roles. I've been to the place where the provider is set, and I have found people there hanging around, and it does not feel comfortable and pleasant. In fact, one of them had the roommates passing back and forth in front of me while I was getting the massage.
IMO, both the client and the provider should be aware of other people present in the place where the event will take place, regardless of how "open minded" the people around are. The "I'm ok with it" thing or "I'll be a fly on the wall" thing is not the issue; it's a comfort and personal safety issue.

I agree. I don't believe RM messenger is as encrypted as it should be.
I think it's just an unwritten rule - RM for basic info, and texting for actual hiring.

peter831 reacted to Monarchy79 in Is there recourse for getting back a deposit from a provider?
Consider this a nominal fee you paid to learn two valuable lessons:
    1.) Don’t give deposits
2.) When people have long stories, explanations or exchanges, filled with “complex” matters and circumstances… it’s usually bullshit.

    The “gut” is usually right.

I go days without looking at the RM app/page.  I do not go days w/o looking at text.  If the convo stays on RM Chat, I won't keep up.  That may be part of their motivation to move it to text, to not seem as if they are ignoring you.  Also, it's a good way to monetize the relationship,  you'll likely feel compelled to make an actual appointment if the convo is via Text.

    It's annoying.
No way to send a long email just a short phrases.
Most guys who contact providers this way are a waste of time:
    Hi
    what's up?
    how are you?
They should go back to email with several sentences
This subject has been talked so many times on here...

Don't forget that we also "get a real sense" of a provider's attitude, personality, and behavior -- including politeness or rudeness.

Scammers like those from the OP’s experience are emboldened because they know clients will send deposits.  Every client in this forum should be advised and warned NEVER to send deposits.

I’ve NEVER paid a deposit and 99% of providers don’t ask for them. Even the high end ones who are models and reality stars and Instagram influencers who won’t show their faces in rentmen. Of whom I’ve seen many.  You’re quite delusional.

Damn sorry this happened to you. I met with him a few weeks ago in LA and had a bad experience as well (we did end up doing the deed but the road to get there was very rocky... at one point, I thought he was going to beat my ass. Can share more details if people want).
He's also on hella steroids (I saw them in his hotel bathroom) so that's probably affecting his mood and decision making.

We’re talking about supply and demand.
If clients stop supplying deposits then the demand for escorts asking for deposits will be gone. 😂

In my opinion, the issue with deposits is that they only benefit the provider, offering no protection to the client. Deposits place all the risk on the client, creating an undesirable unilateral condition.

I had a situation with another well reviewed provider on RM and on here. We had arranged an outcall a couple of days in advance and re-confirmed the day of. Then a couple of hours before the agreed time, he texts that he wants a deposit. I told him no and if he wanted a deposit he should have told me upfront so I could contact a different provider. That is total BS.

The game is the disappearing act lol. After making you traveling all the way to the hotel, the scammer thinks that he has the leverage to extract a deposit and then ghost.

This may be a new popular scam. I experienced a similar situation. The provider asked for a deposit before providing the room number when I was in the hotel lobby. I promptly left.

for you maybe - and fine - clients and the market can respond
but you can’t speak for the entire industry
the market doesn’t agree with you and the market usually doesn’t lie
have lost count of how many providers have asked for a deposit, I’ve said no, and they’ve removed that “non negotiable” position either instantly or over time sometimes after a harsh exchange (by when I’m not going to hire them)
