The market sets the price - it’s the demands of the buyer and the availability of alternatives that contribute to market equilibrium and not the needs/demands of the seller.  All the seller can offer is premium services to achieve premium pricing IF that market is deep enough (no pun intended)

You have mentioned that 'even nice young and good looking' clients are paying your rates, which suggests that people who do not fit into that category will not get the same price or service from you - which is a sure sign of a bad provider, and I would assume that many clients do NOT fit in that category who read this will be disinclined to hire you. so great job there! 
 Just state your price and if it doesn't fit the clients budget, wish them well in their search.  Arguing here like this is not making you, or us, look good.  

Sounds like a failure to understand economics. If the economy goes bad, fewer will be able to afford services. Current providers would have to either be ok with fewer bookings, or lower the price. If the economy is bad enough that many others go into this line of work, competition for fewer dollars might drop the prices more.
Conversely, if there are fewer providers, those still working can raise their rates. 
It's not an insult or an accusation.  It's simple economics. Not sure why everyone is so angry about it.

That being said, this thread is going off the rails again. Just because you "need" more money to live while escorting doesn't equal higher rates. Just because you "can't afford" higher rates doesn't mean they fall. Supply and demand is all that matters, and it doesn't care if you need to pay more in rent.
I think the biggest market shift I've seen is the lack of major pricing shifts since around 2019, with slight falls and rises during and after the pandemic. 300 to 350 (and 500 for two hours, my standard) hasn't changed much despite massive inflation.

Even in LA I'm seeing a trend toward yes. What was once a typically high range of $400 - $550 , is now being more replaced by $250 - $400 ranges. But of course just sporadic anecdotal sample sizes.

I don't know about prices yet, but the supply is definitely increasing on the provider side from new guys, which you have to be cautious with.

I cannot emphasize this enough. Certainly there are some clients who are superficial and beguiled by physical beauty or are into muscle worship. But a provider’s ability to build rapport, find something attractive about a client, hold a decent conversation, and perform well sexually are all as important or moreso than perfect abs or 15 percent body fat.
