Does anyone know his rates? They seem to be a mystery.  

Is he a masseur? what is the 'art of connection' I wonder? 

there's no correct answer......client and provider presumably have already met for a much shorter meet to assess compatibility.......communication beforehand is key!.......exchange ideas and hopes, sleeping habits and food preferences.......typically, the provider does get three or four hours "off" each day to attend to personal emails/texts, gym, shopping - things the client may not be interested in......"walking around" money for the provider is sometimes part of the compensation

I'm definitely still a big fan of hotels because i can't host due to having a roommate whom i don't want to know i do this/know how often i hookup. Apartment walls are paper thin so it'd be impossible to do this without him knowing i had someone over and what we were doing. Even for just Grindr/Sniffies hookups i always go out for those currently.
So i either go to the provider's hotel or sometimes i stay at a hotel locally for a weekend as a local getaway and have guys over there. It's very much not the ideal way to do it both for scheduling and financially. I really need to start making use of DayUse as some have mentioned here. Since that'd be much more flexible and also cheaper.
If i had my own place though, i probably would be totally fine having the guys come to my place after one or two sessions to make sure they were cool though.

1st visit
Most of the men I hire come to my house, even on the first meeting.  I may go to his hotel room if he is visiting and it is easier for him to host than travel.
When traveling, I usually ask the men to come directly to my hotel. 
I give all my hires my real telephone number and my real name.  

No house calls for me. It may be a bit inconvenient at times but I'd much prefer to go out. Like others have mentioned I also love hotel sex. It add an element of excitement for me. And thanks to a fellow provider I am now a fan of DayUse.

I’m a fan of overnights but, I would first ensure compatibility. One of my sponsors years ago, first came to my city for vacation and to see me for a couple hours. After that I would go to his area for overnights. 
 
Sometimes instead of an overnight, you can start off with a couple hours and perhaps provide a hotel room for the guy. I did that in one city couple months ago. I went there, client had hotel ready, reserved a couple hours and then he went home and let me keep the room for the night (And being he procured the room, I didn’t need to bring other clients to “make back” hotel money). 

I live in a quasi provider desert as well. I've always had to travel to providers and host from hotel rooms. I'd never thought about inviting one to travel to me for an overnight. Sounds like something I should consider. Keep in mind they'll want usual overnight rate + travel costs. One thing I've recently learned is to find forum members who contribute content you find valuable and ask if they have any recommendations/referrals. 

Just pick a city where you like the selection of escorts and take a little vacation there and enjoy yourself.

Also increases the likelihood that you get a dessert you will thoroughly enjoy and want seconds.  More please!

@SecretProvider makes a good point. Get a provider to travel to you and book an overnight. That could work. 

Not to be trite, nor am I trying to be flip or fresh, but one makes do. Or one waits until a provider that one likes visits your area. It helps if you have friends or acquaintances who also hire as they might be able to refer you to men who do not post on RM or RMass. (I had a friend who was a wiz at procuring providers and he regularly sent these guys my way. Alas, he moved.) I’m curious as to what others have to say.

The reason I meet only at home or at my hotel when I am on a business trip, is that I like to sleep after sex. I can't bother getting the metro or a taxi to get home.

I never host, and only once have I met with a provider at a hotel which was because I was traveling. I'm way more likely to hire hosting locals in my home city. It always involves massage,  so table, etc. 

I'm shocked at how many guys on here never have a provider over at their home. I don't mind my place, their place, or a hotel. Never had any issues except for one time. I did have money stolen once during an overnight with a regular hookup so I always take care to keep all my valuables hidden when hosting. I never let the other guy out of my sight except for when they are using the bathroom. I don't do overnights ever for partly this reason as well. Just an hour or two.

Well, since the start of my hiring career, I have always hosted providers at my home, whether in NYC then or in HK now. I have never had a problem in those 30+ years.
However, for non-commercial hookups, I go to hotels (DayUse is fantastic) or to their place. First, because you pay providers to leave and, more importantly, because that is the basic rule I have developed with my husband: we can fool around all we want, but we don’t bring dates to our home. Diff’rent strokes….

only one provider knows my home address (and my passport #, SS #, personal phone number, birthday, etc.)......this is after many years of meetings and after he demonstrated his honesty and trustworthiness.....
but I've never hosted him in my house, though he dropped by for coffee and chat one day on his way to a meeting with somebody else....
I always prefer a hotel for the neutrality, the cleanliness, the unlimited number of towels, the privacy, and the sleaziness......I'll get a room if they aren't hosting in one.....I don't like cleaning my own place...... 
many clients here happily host in their own place and report zero problems.....I just sorta want to separate (compartmentalize is the trendy word, I guess) this hobby from home

For a first meeting, I always choose either an incall (preferred) or a hotel. If things go well and they become a regular, then I'm comfortable inviting them to my home.

I have one (1) regular provider whom I see at my home. I had one (1) provider whom I saw at my home but I won’t be asking him back anytime soon. (Sexy SOB, though.) Otherwise it’s always at a hotel. Most of the providers I see, I see on the road.
 
@nomad said it best about simplicity and the fact that you don’t have to clean up afterwards when using a hotel. (I always leave at least five bucks for housekeeping.)
