  1. With gay places like these dwindling, it's a little surprising to see prices so high for meh quality.

Key West now has the same issue.  Two gay B&Bs left.  They routinely run $400+ a night.  Not worth the premium (imo).

These places also are dealing with a dying audience.  Young gays aren't wanting to stay at places like these and their customer base is aging out.

The next decade is going to be interesting to see what happens to them.

    I have so many questions.

Is there a Red Lobster crustacean lounge somewhere for you high elites?

Are you invited to see them catch, process and freeze their stone crab?

During the Darden days, would you look down on Olive Garden diners who didn't have an elite program?

Do you get the least-sad looking live lobster in the tank?

    I kid, I kid.

But seriously, Midwesterners love seafood, but often have spotty access to it which is why RL does well in middle America.  It's not great fish, but it's often times all a city/town has.

RL was very, very savvy in where they built their locations.

Just to be fair, the actual posted question was about "What have you done in instances...", which I even clarified by saying "I'm asking to those who actually experienced this scenario or similar. (Not asking those who have yet to be in this situation.) ". This is probably why @muscmtl was asking for proof.

    I can read.  I understand.

    I just provided my opinion.

And btw, asking for proof on something like this is absurd.

U got proof of this? Where u actually kicked an escort out without paying!!!

This NOTHING like grndr hookup. Your chances of getting beat up when saying no is a 1000 to 1: escort vs grndr.

You d be floored to learn the number of men who show up annuallt to the ED with fx ribs or skull because they said "I ain't paying" to an escort

Re-read, slowly, what I wrote.  I said what I WOULD do based on what I currently do with Grindr trade.

And yes, I would if I hired.  I'm 6'4", 220 and built like a fucking brick wall.  No one is going to beat me up...  Not easily, at least.

I'm sure guys who are smaller need to make concessions when this happens.  I'm just stating what I would personally do.

    Everything is life is AYOR.

this intrigued me.......googled Diane Steele and got some "recruiter's recruiter"......hmmm.......further scrolling revealed a romance novelist named Danielle Steel.......ahh, that must be the reference.......I barely had heard of this writer, but the book covers nudged me a bit........she's well-known, evidently, but me and romance novels?.......yeah, no....

You may have not heard of her, but she's one of the most successful and wealthy authors in the world.  Schmaltz sells.

Her 'Spreckles family' mansion in the middle of San Francisco is legendary.

The casual xenophobia of people in the US will never cease to amaze me.

Sure, being new to the area and having no reviews is an issue. But the comments about gang membership, jeez.

In the words of the musical Avenue Q, 'everyone's a little bit racist...'

However, the United States just tends to wear it on its sleeve.

Like you, it still never not shocks me to see people say such ignorant fucking things.

  7. I saw him do it in London.  He was fine, but the production didn't bring anything new or above what the Mendes version did several years before.

1998 and 2014 were the last major NYC productions.  Like Gypsy, audiences seem to like seeing this show.

The shtick in this new production is 'immersion' into the actual Kit Kat Klub.

I saw this last night, and there are some great things about it. It's very faithful to the book. (Didn't see the movie.) The score is stronger in the first act...but pretty deadly for a chunk of the second act. None of the ballads are very good. Jakob (Grant Gustin - TV's The Flash) has a song about stars that comes near the end of Act 1, that is too long and his singing is fine for the bigger numbers, but I don't think he was able to pull off the ballad, or the love duet in the second act. (However, he is pretty spectacular to look at.) Marlena (Isabelle MacCalla) has a ballad in the second act, which felt endless. The score is by "Pigpen Theatre Co." which according to the program consists of 7 fellows who have written and performed some off-Broadway and regional works. This collective didn't to my mind provide enough of a connective spirit for the score, but some of the bigger numbers were very strong, and there's some stunning choral arrangements for the cast. The ensemble is strong. Paul Alexander Nolan is truly a menacing villain, August. He is dangerous and mercurial, and not entirely two-dimensional, (...which he is in the book.) The show is pretty impressive viewing...there are some good circus acts, one in particular: a wounded horse imagining his younger days. The second act is muddled, and could be trimmed quite a lot...my companion didn't follow what happened in the big climax. (And there must have been some incident at the end of Act 1, because the intermission was longer than 25 minutes with a lot of folks running up and down the side aisle to the stage access door.)
Part Lion King, part recent circus-themed revival of Pippin, part The Notebook (the reminiscent framing device seems to be very popular now), it's an engaging, if predictable story. It was worth the terrific discounted $100 seats we had, but I am glad we didn't pay more.

Thank you for this detailed review.  Much appreciated.

I had a nice chat with him on RM Messenger (despite him saying in his ad that he doesn't use it). I remember him coming up to NYC a couple of times in the past but it didn't work out to meet, so when I ran across his ad back in June I messaged him asking if and when he might be coming back to NYC and he said never. He explained why, and I could understand his reasons, though I won't share them, because I don't want to start up any political vitriole. Use your imagination. He's from Texas, as am I originally. We agreed that if I ever go to the home state we'll hook up. I'd really like that.

Did you tell him you were going to share this vaguely political, private conversation with a public audience?

the New York Philharmonic performs in David Geffen Hall, which used to be called Avery Fisher Hall. Lincoln Center sold naming rights to the highest bidder.

The circle I hang with in Manhattan won't call it Geffen.  It'll always be Avery Fisher.

He can write a massive check for whatever he wants, but it still won't gain him entrance into old NYC.

Am I understanding correctly that for those beyond a certain age, the vaccine remains available but is not covered?  Does anyone know what the general cost of the vaccine might be in Canada?  I like to protect myself against pretty much everything even though there isn't much chance of any romantic encounters for me - I've recently turned 50 but have never been exposed, unless it can be passed non-sexually.

It is a skin-to-skin contact transmission.

You can google what it would cost.  The info is all there.

You've likely been exposed to HPV at some point.  Most people have.  Most healthy immune systems clear it without ever showing symptoms.

However, there are those who don't and develop anal/genital warts and cancer.
