and last night too - Sunday. Was much less busy late afternoon/early evening compared to Friday & Saturday. I’d say the crowd was about 50% less than the other nights. Still had fun & totally different energy, much more relaxed and seemed like a lot more people at the bar and socializing vs going off to rooms. You can still find what you’re looking for on a Sunday. While there were much fewer working guys, the quality was still A+.

and again last night (Saturday). I’ve been going to Thermas for at least 15 years and this is the best I’ve ever seen it - in terms of the men. It has definitely changed for the better imo. The guys who owns Thermas is relatively hands-on and he is visible. Very handsome man in his 40s. Whatever he is doing works because the men there are consistently friendly, there is no pressure and they are honest. And they do what they say they will do & more. I recognized a couple guys from RM and other apps, yet at Thermas they all charge 50euro. I think it’s a great setting to meet someone & go elsewhere if you want more time. For me, 4 hours at Thermas is enough and back to hotel. If you haven’t been, add Barcelona & Thermas to your list. If you indulge in this hobby, it’s a must.

I was at Thermas last night. They had one of the private parties last night so they had a soft closing at 11p, meaning nobody was asking people to leave, but almost all working guys were gone by 10:30p and major clean-up had begun. They advertise the parties start at 11p and go until 3p the next day. I don’t think there is much overlap between the two crowds that go the the night parties and regular sauna hours. The guys really had no complaints about the parties, they just adjusted and seem used to it. I arrived yesterday about 3;30p and it was very active - more so than I remember at same time on previous visits. It seems like the guys have almost completely changed with many of the regulars either have gone back to home countries for a bit or have just moved on. Only a few familar faces compared to last visit a couple months ago. And the guys there now seem to be consistently a bit older, more masculine/macho types. I didn’t see any early 20s, it was more like most were early 30s or appeared that way. There seems to be confusion among staff when parties are being held - a few weren’tsure there was one happening last night. After a few minutes back & forth they got it straight. it seems more clean than before too - the parties seem to have forced a more thorough cleaning protocol. the men were friendly as usual, all quoted 50euros for their time and it was great. Still the best sauna imo in terms of quality & quality of men, costs, safety/security and ease of access. The parties don’t really change much for vast majority of clients although I always liked the late mornings & afternoons there. Mainly Brazilians yesterday with a Venezuelans, Colombians and a few Dominicans in the mix.

incorrect logic - you can sell it. you’re choosing not to sell it because you don’t like the options. sounds like you want to stay put exactly where you are, same city/same type home - that’s a choice. there’s always a less expensive option than what you have now & lower property taxes too. choices have consequences- make them wisely

this is the best summary of the situation nyc is one of the best niche business incubators in the country - if there is market demand for a product or service, it will likely exist in New York. the very fact that there is no spa specializing in older masseurs tells you there is no demand & probably no ready supply of older masseurs either, who willing to work in walk-in situations and face constant rejection bc vast majority want younger. It’s really that simple. the older guys have migrated to apps where they know when being contacted, the client is looking for older & no rejection. we live in a youth based society for all almost things - like it or not

if this is a recurring issue for you - just make it clear you expect a full 60 minutes when booking & ask for acknowledgment you will get that time….before you finalize the time, place & payment.

I never try to book with short notice. usually it’s a day or two in advance & then it’s trying to see who is really going to be available. That presents another problem tho because some providers only want to be contacted when the client is ready to go, at that moment or same day. So, there will always be some disconnect when contacting & trying to schedule. Some RM profiles have specific instructions re: required lead time & that is always appreciated. it really doesn’t work tho when trying to make contact & several hours go by with no acknowledgment. At the very least there should be some text auto-reply with basic information. The basic information would be rate incall/outcall, a general description of incall facility (neighborhood only) and general hours they work. And super helpful if they say they return all inquiries within 1-2 hours. There’s no reason for for several hours delay when everyone has a phone at all times. And while there may be extended appointments at times that prevent returned texts, that is not the norm.

it’s all about context I don’t think there is anything wrong with negotiating rates with providers. Although most providers on this forum have expressed they don’t like clients that engage in haggling for a lower rate. I don’t ever try to negotiate - either I pay the requested rate or move on to a different provider. I think it’s insulting to the provider to haggle. But the discussion here is specifically about “migrant men” which implies some sort of temporary or undocumented status and using that as justification/leverage to pay a lower rate, then I think that’s wrong, morally distasteful, crass & exploitive. The OP did not frame the discussion this way, but it went there. obviously, we all come from different backgrounds & treat people in different ways. I just choose to treat the men I meet as real human beings & my equal in every situation, no matter the place or circumstances. I don’t examine their immigration or economic status and somehow think I can use that to pay less. In fact, I usually always pay more via tips in those situations because for me, it’s the right thing to do. as I’ve said a few times here - there is a way to navigate this hobby with dignity, grace & kindness for all involved. I know this makes a difference because the guys I hire tell me exactly that.
