I understand your frustration but just think that for someone who does massage for a living, losing his luggage means he doesn’t have any clothing, linens, perhaps also valuable items as he’s traveling all over the country. If he travels with a massage table, that means he doesn’t have it either. Imagine how frustrating that must be for him and how much money he’s losing after making it all the way there. The real culprit here is the airline.

For me, the most challenging part was filtering through the time wasters and flakes.  Some cities have a higher concentration of that than other cities. It's not rude to see and pay whatever escort you please.

I had several massages in 2022 but I regret that I cannot say any of those masseurs merits a “best of the year” award. Some of them were good enough but nothing that would make me want to become a regular client, to my own chagrin. I have been looking for a masseur that would check all the boxes for me since before the pandemic but no luck yet. Granted, I have high standards 😉. My go to masseur was El (Eldred) who moved from NYC to LA a while ago. I haven’t found anyone that lives up to his preternatural skills both as therapeutic and sensual masseur. FWIW, I don’t think you were being an asshole in this situation. Texting, messaging on apps tends to be such a flat medium, I have found that some have inferred tone, intent, offense, etc. that was never there. Same with E-mail. 

I think you were right to get some clarity on whether this was a potentially paid encounter or not. I probably would have asked in a different manner, as I can see him thinking your inquiry about him being a sex worker could be viewed by him as “You’re a sex worker? Ewww! No thanks!”
If he -or anyone else- hitting you up on an app, and was someone you’d want an encounter with, and you had seen their ads on RM previously, maybe something like “I’ve noticed your ad on RM. Just to be clear, are you looking for business or just to play?” Or something along those lines. If he comes back with the former, you can decide with either an inquiry about pricing, services, etc. or with an “Ok, I’m on here just looking for play. Thanks!” Or similar. If he replies the latter - just looking to play - even better! 😉

It's really none of your business how many clients he has and when.  And just because he doesn't have another client doesn't mean that he doesn't have other time commitments.  You can always give the fooling around a shot and he'll let you know whether he has time or not.  Or better yet, book a longer session.
