What does HE (happy ending) really entail when hiring a Masseur?

"Happy Ending" 90% of the time is a hand-job.

But I've had various other erotic techniques applied ( rimming, face fucking ) before I get my hand-job.

Ok. So this means that going beyond a hand-job is at the discretion of the masseur.

Is blowjob common when hiring a masseur for an erotic or sensual massage?

Absolutely at the discretion of the masseur.

A blowjob crosses the line from masseur to prostitution so as Jamie21 mentioned you are crossing into legal matters when you start paying someone for sexual favors.

My advice is to do less planning and go with the flow. Book your happy ending massage.

See how your provider approaches the happy ending on his own, and if you like this person, discuss afterwards if there are other menu options that they might be interested in providing for the next time.

If the masseur crosses the line on his own (eg. gave a blowjob without any prior discussion), is it usually expected that the rate changes? If so, by how much? Trying to find out if there's a song and dance or expected etiquette.

In MY experience I have never gotten a blowjob from a masseur without some negotiation of a "good tip" or a specific quote of a rate change.

But if you get a "you tip me well" comment, he isn't talking about $ 20.

What's a typical "you tip me well" for a $150 massage? I'm not a big fan of the tipping culture where I have to subjectively figure out what number they want, and I'd prefer if they give me a rate straight-up that they're happy with.

And THIS is the problem with tipping culture. EVERYONE will have a different answer to that question.

Overall, this occurs more often at a spa or massage place that has staff. The price is set and the staff works for tips, so are more inclined to quietly offer sexual services. Since they shouldn't be doing this at all....you get the vague "tip me well ?" question thrown at you.

A private provider is more likely to be upfront about additional menu items...but masseurs do have a tendency to wait until you're ready to bust a nut to discuss the pricing structure.

As far as pricing with sexual add-ons ...you need to sort of work backwards. Handsome escorts charge $ 300/ hr min for sex work.  You paid $ 150 for an hour massage.  So you've paid half the price of the sex worker. For a handjob they're looking for a nice tip ( $ 20 to 30 ) for a blowjob they're expecting you to round that up to $ 200 minimum. But that's still less than the sex worker is charging. But of course the sex worker is also spending more time than a two minute blowjob when you're already hard and ready to nut.

Someone needs to make an infographic for people who can’t figure this out… you’re very kind and patient @pubic_assistance!

I concur. I learned how to doosh from an infographic posted on this board. I also learned how to use a Japanese brothel by catalog, strip club etiquette, and bath house protocol thanks to this board. And so much more.

Depends on the masseur. You should ask him (although some might be guarded about how they answer because of legal issues). I include blowjob if my client wants it but other masseurs will just do handjob.

Do you think a client will refuse a blowjob?

I think you're now officially over-thinking this! 😇

There's no typical "song and dance" involved in massage sessions. Almost all of us have learned simply by trial and error and by gaining wide experience with a variety of masseurs.

You'll be able to achieve your own experience after you schedule your first session and then your second, third, fourth, ....

I typically don't negotiate any of that when booking a massage. I kind of like the surprise.  If it's just a massage, that's cool.  If it's more, that's a bonus.  I have had a BJ a couple of times but not to the HE.  I didn't negotiate any rate changes.  I paid the price that was originally agreed plus my 20% tip.   I have found that most of the "masseurs" that offer those services have priced those massages higher than a typical therapeutic massage.

I'm not sure about common but definitely not rare either for an erotic massage.  I had a masseur sit on my cock last week with no prior notice or discussion.  He said that was just part of his erotic massage and included in the rate.  Some of my best experiences were with providers from the massage site and not the escort site.

What crosses the line between massage and “prostitution” to me is not the fact of a blowjob being performed on either party, rather booking  a massage with the provider who is not trained and/or qualified to perform the massage as advertised and if I would still knowingly book the service  with such a provider first and foremost for sexual gratification.  The line is pretty thin and shifting, but if I book a massage then I expect to feel like I’m getting one rather than just a handjob or negotiations of a tip for sexual “extras”.

Yes some do. For example if they’re anxious about the risk of catching something (that’s an unfounded concern in my view since I test regularly), but it’s understandable if you’re wanting to be 100% safe, which some discreet married clients are requiring. I respect that even though it’s tempting to suck him!

newdad, are you familiar with the term YMMV (your mileage may very) Any non-negotiated extras, agreed rate could be a matter of how much the provider is into you. My usual guy sat on my dick once, and loves being blown, but doesn't do that.

I have found any further play usually happens not on a first visit but if you book again, establishing a trust / rapport.
