i will NOT be called creepy or judged for enjoying the company of young MEN without responding strongly.

If you're in your 60s, running around P Town with a 20-year-old, you are absolutely being judged by many people who see you, and many will find it unseemly. Regardless of whether or not you're paying for his company, most people will assume you are.  That's not a personal attack or judgment from me; that's just reality. And the same would be true for most straight men in their 60s dating a 20-year-old woman.

I’m suspicious of men who are interested in boys.   But 18 - 25 is a young MAN…a completely different dynamic.

We all know where the legal line is, no one's saying you're committing a crime, but i think Kensington is more so getting at the societal line. Or the relative maturity gap.

Many people my age (30s) joke about how "i still feel like I'm 20, till i hang out with 20 year olds, then i feel like I'm 40". Along the same line is how many people above a certain age will see or hear about something younger people do or engage in and go "kids these days", even though they're referring to fully grown adults in their 20s or even 30s. Because relative to their older age, the younger person may as well be a kid to them because they are so far removed from them in experiences and maturity, they simply can't relate. But when it comes to physical/sexual interaction, the goal post is conveniently moved and now they're young men who are conveniently so mature and intelligent for their age. So it's interesting to say the least when people pick and choose to infantilize others and when to see them as adults. This is what Kensington is getting at and what is triggering him. He's not seeing how someone that young compared to you doesn't, just by the sheer distance of the age gap, effectively seem like a boy to you. Regardless of their in progress college degree or what ever it may be. What subject they're studying doesn't define their maturity. Their decision making, impulsivity, and other things like that do, and being still so close to their teenage years, there's generally not substantial progress made there yet in most people in their early 20s.

What you're doing is obviously legally fine, not really siding with either of you, but what Kensington is saying is very much going over your head or you're ignoring because you're stuck on him perceiving you as creepy.

An 18 yo acquaintance , decided to start escorting. I asked him if he has the stomach for it and he replied, I go only with rich and good looking people. Probably many others think the same and this is a segment of escorting this forum is neglecting.

For his sake I hope he has alternative sources of income otherwise he’ll starve.

I guess this would be true if you cared about those things.  I don't. I had a date with a 23 yo who is younger than my own son by a decade.  Did I care what people thought?  Who gives an crying F.  We sat in the middle of Le Bernardin (a 3 Michelin star restaurant in NYC) together having a wonderful time.  Talked about the state of the world, AI, immigration, eàst vs west coast, what makes a great service experience when dining, wine culture in upper state NY, etc.  It was a 3 hour menu tasting so we had lots of time to talk about lots of things of shared interests.  We were dressed better than most of the other tables.  None of the other tables cared. If anyone stared at us, I didn't notice and frankly I didn't care.  The serving team treated us like all their other guests.  Attentive but stayed the hell out of our personal business between courses.  We were one of the last tables to leave.  Walked back down to Park Avenue to the hotel.  The hotel staff couldn't care less. Doorman held the door open and welcomed us back just after 1am.  All this wasted energy on what others might think.  Do what brings you personal joy.  Everyone else can bugger off.

I agree. I had many similar experiences. Nobody cares, nobody stares, except the gay bartenders and waiters 🤣

Is that where he is staying or the clients? There are other great hotels in Paris as good or better than those two. And who would want to be in Paris this summer where the temperatures are hitting 40c!

No, he is not staying there, at least yet 😅. By the way, Paris is packed. Americans, Chinese, Russians, even some French.

Give him some time. He’s 18, young, and still naive. He hasn’t seen much of the world yet. With time, he’ll realize that not everything will go the way he sees.

It took me a long way to even attract young and attractive clients. In 2024/2025, my clientele was mostly older guys when I weighed 155lbs.

In 2026, after I gained 20lbs(175lbs) and got very muscular/buff, that is when young clients came pouring in like crazy(on Grindr and RM) and repeats around age 20s-30s increased drastically. Now my young clients outnumbers older ones by a huge margin.

Based on my experience, I do believe only muscular guys can attract attractive clients more easily. Attractive clients are obviously good looking and they know it. They are picky and have higher standards when it comes to hiring.

Attracting good looking client is not impossible, you gotta work your way up to attract attractive clients. He is only 18, he has a long way to go and still has time to put in work.

Then shame on them for even paying attention.   But my first comment about judgment had nothing to do with them or a trip to PTown.   It had to do with what you said and how - in my opinion - this should be a judgment free place (unless someone asks for opinions).    Would you like me to go unsolicited down the list of what I’ve gleaned about your preferences and how I might generically judge those preferences based on my own life experiences or opinions?

Frankly, I don’t need you telling me that people judge me when I’m  with a younger man….they judge me for a million things other things too…and I’m at a point in life where I’ve earned the ability to not care and the right to confidently push back on the pettiness of being falsely accused based on superficial assessments!

And I’ll also note that, despite attacking older guys (including many here) who like younger guys, you also accused younger guys of essentially being immature and dumb.   That’s a judgmental stereotype or assertion not based in fact and easily disproved.  Please don’t double down on a myopic assertion that’s easily refuted by fact or others’ comments and observations.

I think it’s time for the gay community to stop using gay as an excuse for pettiness.   But until that happens, I say more power to this young man who knows what he wants, is milking what he has, and to all the good looking rich guys who have what it takes. @ACluelessGent, please PM me his info….I’m confident I’ll make the cut

Why do people keep making this false assumption to make their point. For an hour, or even an evening, the goal isn't an intellectual match made in heaven. Sure, it's great if you connect, and if the escort is mature, intelligent and can quote famous literature. But as long as they are kind and agreeable to your arrangement, the physical attraction is why they were hired.

When you watch porn, is it always older guys, because the young ones must be so immature when they're sucking cock? If not, it would be pretty hypocritical.

+1 except to note that mine are generally travel companions so it’s a minimum of a weekend or in some cases 10 days.     I rarely have mere hookups

I agree with you 100%. I'm not capable of caring what people think of me. But we also cannot control what other people think. If someone chooses to date someone young enough to be their grandchild, some people will think their date is their grandchild, and others may sense it's not and have their judgments.

Exactly. And I'm not convinced that many on here would like their 18-year-old child to be in a similar relationship, nor would they approve of a straight man in his 60s dating an 18-year-old young woman.

If you check my record here, you'll notice I'm rarely defensive about my own choices because I'm completely comfortable with them.

Sure. Other people do it all the time. But I'm not "judging" you based on my "life experiences or opinions." I am speaking to the well-established difference in intellectual and emotional development of someone who is 18 versus someone who is in their 60s.

I haven't "attacked" anyone. You're choosing to take my observation of scientifically proven developmental distinctions as a personal attack. Saying an 18-year-old hasn't finished their full intellectual and emotional development isn't saying they're immature or dumb. Quite the opposite. It is noting what the science says. They are exactly where they should be developmentally and intellectually. If I said a 30-year-old was acting like an 18-year-old, that would be saying the former was immature and possibly dumb.

This isn't about pettiness. You want to be lauded for dating someone who could be your grandchild. Some people will be uncomfortable with that. To me, you and others are using gayness as an excuse for engaging in relationships that a plurality of adults find to be questionable. I find famous actors in their 40s and 50s dating 19- and 20-year-olds to be creepy.

I don't watch much porn, but when I do, it tends to feature men in their 30s and above, because I don't find people younger than that attractive. Aesthetically, I understand their appeal, but it doesn't do anything for me erotically. Especially if they're hairless or in scenes being portrayed as teenagers or frat bros.

"Creepy" is not an attack.  Judgements are not objectively bad things.  Get thicker skin.

As to the original poster.  Yes, when starting escorting two somewhat contradictory things happen, you open yourself to a lot and also you make rules for yourself so you don't feel like all the other hustlers out there, which for many of us feels important in the beginning, the differentiation. As time goes by, if you stick with it, your rules change.  So, will that "young man" continue to be so limited?  Maybe, but not for long or he will stay a low-earner.  More likely he will quit or expand his parameters.

Sketchy means untrustworthy   Your word not mine 😉 referring to people like me.   Saying it’s not your thing is neutral   Saying it’s sketchy is not   And you’re doubling down

But I’m sure that you harbor not one iota of judgment in your chosen words and observations.   And I’m so glad you have a strong pulse on the attitudes (and aptitudes) of the PTown crowd.

I think this is a generalization.  Part of why I feel comfortable is that when I was in my early 20s, I befriended people that were much older than me.  I always had more in common with them than people my own age.  I was a nerd who collected college degrees from Ivy schools like they were going out of fashion. One of my best friends was 35 years older than me.  I wasn't ever paid to go the opera, museums, dinner, etc.  All of those things are well beyond my personal means at the time.  Yes my friend was gay.  He never made a move on me or had some ulterior motive other than friendship.  I was blessed with his friendship until the last moment when I held his hand and he took his last breathe.  I think the assumption of seeing two people with an age big difference must mean it's an arrangement is shallow.  Yes I pay for the company of some.  It is usually to stay in a bedroom.  It is rarely to go to fine dining restaurants that cost more than their services. You would be surprised how genuinely nice people are when you don't treat them like a piece of meat.  Some become friends that visit to see you; not wanting or expecting anything from you.  Yes it happens in real life.

@Peter Eater If they did, they need to have their eyes checked. 😆 I certainly felt we were the best looking table. Definitely having the most fun.  The attractive solo diner next us even chatted us up a bit since he only had a few dishes and hadn't gone for the full testing menu.

For now, I see the opposite. He becomes more selective and exclusive.

Age-disparate relationships in the range being discussed inevitably get scrutinized through a developmental lens, and a 60-year-old with a 20-year-old can easily be read as minor- or adolescent-coded eroticization even though both are adults. I’m not sure at what point a forty-year age gap sheds the socially constructed “creepy” label: 45 and 85 would still attract judgment, but for rather different reasons.

At 20 and 85, the framing shifts again into something almost textbook Eriksonian: the younger person is still emerging from identity diffusion into identity formation, while the older person is navigating integrity versus despair. The mismatch isn’t merely chronological; they occupy very different developmental eras, approaching psychological collision. That said, sex is sex and needn’t be conceptualized or loaded with meaning any differently than playing chess.

We readily accept developmental asymmetry in other forms of intimacy. A grandparent and an emerging-adult grandchild can have an extraordinarily close, meaningful relationship without anyone supposing that their developmental disparity prevents genuine mutuality. Likewise, an undergrad and seasoned educator, not sexualized.

Introduce sex between two similarly age-disparate but unrelated adults, however, and that disparity suddenly becomes morally salient. Some of that scrutiny is reasonable. Sex can introduce vulnerabilities that sharing conversation, affection or an ice cream does not: power, dependency, money, expectations and susceptibility to influence. Not to mention in our examples socializing a young person into a line of work that was unlikely a recent feature within their career guidance curriculum. Parenthetically, though, perhaps OF 101 was on their senior year radar.

But the age gap alone doesn’t establish any of those liabilities. Nor does consensual physical intimacy become intrinsically exploitative simply because two adults occupy different developmental stages. Additionally, as older men, our erotic templates formed at 20 don’t age out simply due to broader developmental progression. The age range of erotic interest doesn’t necessarily move upwards in lockstep as we age out of developmental peerhood. If at age 20 your erotic template preference happened to be early-middle-age dudes, maintaining such a predilection throughout life doesn’t confer moral or maturational superiority. You would just be less subject to labeling as frozen in a less developed maturational stage because you are not anchoring down in sexual age interest.

The useful distinction here is that developmental disparity is obvious from the math, but arrested development or developmental exploitation requires evidence beyond the gap.

And now I need to break to see about some Socratic plumbing with a 35-year old.
