OP note: they were fully responsible for their sons lifestyle and eating habit.

Bonkers.  Don't know how that is even possible with some sort of thyroid issue.  It takes a huge amount of food to weigh that much.

For those who aren't great at reading or summarizing the news article on their own:

The parents are charged with murder because they:

1. Tied up the child with zip ties.  He lived tied to the bed in his own filth.  The 7-year old child was non-verbal, living in solitude chained to his bed so he never leaned to speak.

2.  Told their other children to beat up the child.

3. Never took any of the children to the doctor, despite having health insurance and the knowledge to seek medical care.   They even called a veterinarian for their sick household pet the very morning that the child died!

The weight is the sensational headline that attracts clicks from those obsessed with weight.   The serious death and murder charges go beyond feeding a kid French Fries.

I do not copy the content of articles that I post. I asked you most people will read the article and possibly Google to verify some information..

Unfortunately the headline (name of this thread) can't be as long as needed

Agree:  they were fully responsible for tying the kid to his bed, where he was beaten and laid to rot in his own shit for 7 years, not even learning to talk.  He had no "lifestyle" or "habit".  He was enslaved, chained,  and tortured for his entire life. 😢

The death penalty should be on the table for these people.

Totally agree about the death penalty.  Capital punishment was designed for monsters like these 2 sub-humans.
If they don't receive death, then, in addition to whatever prison sentence they receive, these monsters should both be sterilized. No plea bargain should be allowed unless it includes sterilization.
They must never be allowed to reproduce.

More than weird...horrific..I see overweight..obese children in grocery stores in Florida...the parents also grossly overweight..thd woman usually wear skimpy shorts with tube tubes...

It's a self-inflicted wound of our society!

Even though I'm not comfortable with some folks effortlessly taking an injection or a pill to solve all their health problems, I would offer free Ozempic and other choices to poor and even uninsured folks. It would certainly save us a lot of money because of all the health-related issues, but it would also be good for other folks who won't have to deal with 300Lbs men and even women seated next to them in the airplane, nurses getting hurt lifting large bodies, etc.
