Urologist Dr. Stefan Buntrock put out this video on how frequently men should ejaculate based on their age.  I don’t exactly follow the advice, but I come pretty close just by my normal habits.

At my age, my healthy refractory time based on his formula is 35 hours or about 4.8 times per week. That’s about right.  Although, I might ejaculate twice in one day and not at all for a handful of days.

When my doctor asked me how often I jerked off, I told him I hardly ever do any longer. He thought I ought to do it more, and he prescribed a medication that he said would make me want to do it more often, called Sildenafil. I didn't find it to be very effective, but I didn't tell him that.

How often do you jerk off?  Daily?  In a week?  Maximum # of times?

Depends on many things specially age... also most folks may not jerk off if they have a hookup or a hire coming, they might want to save it.

Now I do it once or twice a week, but all the way up to my 50's I would do it every night before going to bed.

That's Viagra.  The dosage makes a difference.  20 or 50mg are probably the most common.  100mg is the max daily dosage for a 24h period.

Interesting video..and it linked to others of his and I have never heard of him before or seen his content.

Thanks for sharing

And yes...turns out....as suggested, the frequency I do it and the time in between were spot on

somewhat related, I asked my doctor about the rumor that frequent ejaculation could maintain prostate health......he immediately giggled and said that was talked about back in his medical school days and is entirely baseless......

I choose not to believe him.......😁

Not sure about that but you will go blind and grow hair on your palms.

There is a benefit to more frequent ejaculation when a man has a prostate infection as if help to clear out some of the bacteria.  Masturbation also has a salutory effect on mood and general health.  According to his formula, I would be in the 2 day refractory period which is not the case for me at all.  When I have a willing, or even a reluctant partner, I am usually able to have 2 or three orgasms a day for several days in a row.  Once that partner is gone, I might not have an orgasm again for a week or two but should another partner appear, that shortens that refractory period back to zero.  Granted these are not the encyclopedia raising erections I had as a teen, but the orgasm is in some ways more intense even though it requires a bit more effort.

Visual and physical stimulations at it's best.  👏

Mmmmm! “Encyclopedia raising erections.”  I like that visual.

keep taking it.  it's a (imagined?) cumulative effect, and waking up hard is fun, even alone.  It also lowers bp too, so win win.

I thought Viagra's only use was to help get and maintain an erection when being sexually stimulated and also, perhaps, shorten the refractory period.  I don't think it has any impact on libido itself, so it isn't going to make you want to jack off.

That's what frustrates me about the thinking around ED medication.  It's also something that annoys me about therapist, about how the talk is around how no pill or needle is going to increase your libido, rather you have to address the cause, or FIRST work to find it.  Nope.

ED medication makes it much more likely you'll get an erection if you haven't been recently (it should go without saying, but nothing does anymore, that obviously there are some medical problems even the strongest ED meds can't work against and you'll never know unless you try).

So why might ED medication help with libido itself?  Being able to get hard is it's own turn on.  Knowing you'll likely have difficulty getting hard is its own turn off.  Worry is a turn off.   Remove the focused worry or at least reduce it, boom libido returns.

Also, having a hard on, alone or with others, is its own turn on, absolutely. Hello old friend :-)

Lastly, there are ED medications many doctors aren't familiar with.  See a Urologist.  See a male Urologist.  Or see a male Doctor of any kind who has lots of gay patients.

I am still in my office 3 days a week, and have no interest in jacking off during those office days; however, during my 4-day weekend, my thoughts turn to sex and find that I am extremely horny; usually Thursdays I catch up on photos posted here, and that re-starts the interest in all things sexual
