Do you ever contact RM reviewers for more info on reviews?

I do. But only after I have first searched Company of Men for details on a provider. If I don't find enough detail,  I send two or three recent RM reviewers RM messages asking about the guy they have reviewed and whom I'm thinking of hiring.

I keep my requests simple, saying something like "I see you enjoyed your time with ____ last month and I'm thinking of meeting him. I'd be grateful for any details you're willing to share."

I never ask reviewers about rates.  I only ask providers directly about rates.

And I find that typically 1 out of 3 RM reviewers respond to me, and I think that's a great response rate. Their responses vary in detail, and some are much more helpful to making my hiring decision than others, but nevertheless I always thank responders for taking the time to help me.

About 1 out of 8 RM reviewers open a more expansive discussion with me.

Funny you should ask

I just got such a request this evening.  My username is similar on RM.  So I’m instantly suspicious of someone who contacts me there rather than here.  In this case, the client profile had 61 reviews (all on 1/15/26), 61,000+ profile reviews over 10+ yrs, and a profile age of 28   So, I’m suspicious and I contacted the provider to let him know before I respond.

Like you, I’d never discuss rates but I’d also not discuss other details either since different chemistries lead to different experiences

I did have someone contact me a couple months ago   Asked for info on a provider I’d reviewed in Chicago.  Was way too forthcoming with personal info and even shared his cell #…I looked him up on MrNumber and saw a number of red flags and then warned all the providers he’d asked about

I’ve found RM reviewers who are here and happily contact them here.

I’ve contacted reviewers who appear on expired ads and asked if they happen to have any contact information for the provider with the expired ad. I’ve had pretty good luck with that. I tell the provider that I had saved their contact information from when the ad was current.

Yes, particularly if the person isn't reviewed or discussed on here. And I'm finding fewer and fewer reviews/discussions on the providers that I want additional info on. In that regard, this site unfortunately is becoming less relevant to me.

The review situation on RM is less than worthless. Anyone who contacts a provider through the site and sees them should be able to post a permanent review. And the provider should be allowed to respond. If a reviewer turns out to be illegitimate,  block them from reviewing.

That's it. And there should not be shade throws for a less-than 5 star review. Every provider isn't for everyone. Because all they seem to allow are 5 star reviews by paying members, they all mean zippo. And you can't even read the details. Idiotic.

Probably providers reviewing their friends or themselves through other IDs. Better off eliminating the rating system completely then leaving it as it now stands.

While I generally agree with your comment, I have found comments from certain reviewers- some of whom use their same reviewer name here - descriptive and reliable. I have identified 3 that share my preferences and impressions and I do attach some credibility to their comments which I can access with a European VPN.

I have occasionally reached out to reviewers in the past to validate the provider!
COM is my preferred method now!

I receive a lot of folks that look at my profile and reviews I have written on RM!  If they hit on my profile several times I will send a DM!  This usually breaks the ice for a new person to the hobby to ask questions!

I prefer that other clients reach out to me about my reviews. I'm on the spectrum, so I'm not the best judge of character. However, I can describe things and people objectively. I also find it difficult to convey information through a star rating system and a limited word field.

I generally don’t respond on here anymore to pm requests for more information on sessions I have reviewed on this site. If I made a review here for a provider that’s the only information I will supply. Many guys have private messaged me about getting more details on various providers I have reviewed on here, but I really don’t have more info than what I provided.  So I apologize if I ignored or ghosted anyone’s private messages looking for more information. 😊

I do this- and people reach out to me. I’m the type of person who really won’t leave a negative review if I didn’t have a good experience (sorry about it) but I will give my 2 cents here.

I will leave a review if it was amazing. So when I get a message asking for my experience I’m more than willing to provide my experience with that provider.

i have had some people go on and on and on and ask a ton of questions and I don’t really appreciate that. I’ll tell you my experience but I won’t go back and forth sharing every single detail.

I don't find that particularly helpful. Summaries of bad experiences are more helpful than the good ones.  They don't have to be cruel or detailed, but it would be nice to know if a provider did less than promised or his profile was misleading. I thought that was a main point of this forum. To share and promote the good ones and warn us off the bad ones.

Yep I totally agree. I left one bad review and I felt pretty bad after, especially because the provider was upset 😅. So I just choose not to.

I actually appreciate when a provider responds. Their response to a less than stellar review can make me want to see them even more. Getting snippy, vs explaining what happened vs apologizing for a bad day vs. telling their version of the truth.

I actually met with one provider and he mentioned that he knew this site existed and that he was upset by a review once and responded to it, but eventually the whole conversation got wiped from company of men. My experience of with him was great and I would have loved to have read that exchange.

I'll reach out every so often to a RM client who reviewed a provider if I can't find any information about the provider in question on here. I usually will reach out to the ones who have been RM members the longest and/or have a decent amount of reviews posted so they're more likely to be legit. I also try to not reach out to someone if that review was posted over a year ago as then even if the client says they looked just like their pics for instance it could not be true anymore.

Yes, and if they don’t want to respond or choose not to that’s fine.
Here’s an example of why I’m glad I reached out to one. The client was in Arizona, and the provider lives close to my location whom I wanted to hire. The provider had two recent 5 star reviews, so I reached out to the client from Arizona who left 5 stars. He said they just talked on the phone!

I've reached out to reviewers on RM about providers I was considering picking from, but I also DM'ed members here who have hired the same provider. I've found it's important to compare notes with the clients who reply on RM and the feedback from members here - I've noticed that a providers tend to have a talent or two that stands out, and if multiple people mention this unsolicited it's a very positive sign and gives you an idea of what to expect. about half to a third of clients on RM have gotten back to me when I reached out, with 100% response rate from members here. I also got interesting feedback and some vague warnings on a provider with mixed RM reviews, with a couple seemingly intentionally vague but trying to imply something rather than outright saying it- as if they were trying not to say anything directly bad, but were also trying to give me a warning.
