I have been spoiled with friends and family rates in the past. Now I'm on my own and didn't realize rates in Manhatten have grown.

Anyone have recent experience with a 4️ hotel that was safe,  clean and open enough to have a provider or two visit?

I'd like to be under $400/ night if possible. I'm coming for pride. Last visit over pride was stonewall 50.

Thank you 😊

If you're not picky, you can try hoteltonight app on the day of or day before. Most nyc hotels on there give heavy discounts as they try to unload any available inventory that day.

If he's coming during Pride, the Hotels are going to be filled up.

There are thousands of people who come to visit NYC that week.

So I don't think waiting to the last minute is a good idea during that time.

You run the risk of needing to stay in New Jersey or even worse ...Queens !

Heaven forfend!

Then again, given the detail in which we've canvassed the culinary advantages of Queens, perhaps that isn't a fate worse than death. But what would I know?!

try the Michelangelo Hotel on 51st St.  Rooms are huge for nyc, adjacent to Hells Kitchen (lots of providers in the area) and hotel is big enough that nobody pays attention to coming & going.

I once stayed there. The two beds were so large that you literally could not walk around the room. I brought a Gaiety dancer back with me one night. There was a noticeable age difference. As we got to the crowded elevators he started reviewing the play we had just seen. Except that we had not seen a play.

I was singularly referring to the hassie of luring an escort out of Manhattan during an event with millions of potential clients celebrating IN Manhattan.

Your best luck is not a hotel in NYC....... most hotels that are good that time of year start at 600-700 a night and that is before resort fees. If you want to save money do San Fransisco Pride. Hotels are much cheaper going for 300-400 a night for good rooms in the city. Normally NYC pride for events and hotels alone is like 3000-4000 for 3-4 nights. San Francisco Pride is nicer and cheaper. Also the events are bigger in SF with a more positive vibes crowd, everyone is invited and every age and body type. I am from NYC and I no longer like doing pride in the city anymore because of how overpriced and commercialized to optimize profits it's become post pandemic. Also if you aren't a white muscle gay man between 35 and 40 making 6 figures with a good job, expensive clothing, and connections don't expect NYC to recieve you with open arms.  Back in 2019 I was spending 1000 for the whole weekend. Now I am spending 3 times that to do exactly the same time and people had a more open minded in NYC before we got our rights because we had to work together. the party is honestly tired and negative now... Pride NYC is all about spending money and being seen... Your post and your statue is everything now for most New Yorkers here and people coming to the city. it's super Toxic to be honest. I hope it changes.

if you need any information on SF Pride I am happy to help you out. I work in tech and know alot about it. also gayagenda SF on IG is super helpful.

if you go book NYC good luck with thing

Heya, planning on hiring while I’m in town for a conference, I’ve never been before. I was wondering where’s a good place to stay that’s close to the action, so to speak?

There's some helpful dialogue over in the Travel Desk forum.  Just use the Search 🔍 function to search for "NYC" in the subject titles in Travel Desk forum only.

Search results:

https://www.companyofmen.org/search/?&q=Nyc&type=forums_topic&quick=1&nodes=94&search_and_or=or&search_in=titles&sortby=relevancy

My recommendations:  I like to stay in Chelsea between the 1,2,3 and A,C,E Subway lines.  Most others would recommend Hell's Kitchen (just west of Time Square) or Times Square itself.

In either Chelsea or Hells Kitchen, you can turn on Grindr and the entire screen fills up with men all located within 50 feet.

Mod's Note: We've combined the this new thread with the newest NYC Hotel related thread in the Destinations group of forums and placed the combined thread in the Travel Desk. As y'all can see if you follow @Vegas_Millennial's link, there are other focussed NYC travel topics. Hope all you travellers find hotels decked out with an appropriate level of Christmas (or holiday) cheer!

I'm a fan of The Pod hotels. There are several. I've stayed in Midtown East at 51st. You do share a bath to get the good rate, but that's fine with me. They are tiny but well-designed. I care more about a good lodging price vs. the most primo location possible. I'm there to walk and subway around anyway. Pod 51 isn't far from the United Nations. The location has served me well.

I’ve heard good things about the pod hotel never been in one. Is it ok for hosting?

It's tight quarters but should be good enough for hosting. In my particular cases, I always went to the providers' places. It's definitely much better than a cubicle in a bathhouse!

Depends on what the priority is. If it is business and conference, stay close to that. Providers will come to you; anything within Manhattan is accessible.

If it is holiday and hiring, as others mentioned, Hells Kitchen, Times Square or Chelsea work well.
