Rob Reiner and his wife have been killed

This makes me so sad. I worked on a gala performance honoring his father in 2016 and got a moment backstage to thank him for his Marriage Equality advocacy.  An artist and mensch who will be missed.

People, not exactly the gold standard in journalism, reports that both Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle have been murdered and that the killer is his son.  The murder of two people is tragic.  If the killer is indeed his son, that adds an order of magnitude to the tragedy that’s hard to wrap your head around.

Without being disrespectful to any members, please try and be supportive and kind to everyone who has been affected by the senseless murder of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner. Please let’s celebrate the fact that Rob Reiner was a constant and influential supporter for the LGBTQ community. Truly, my heart and prayers go out to their family and friends at this tragic time.

Son-in-law. Not son.
And lest we forget, it was Archie's home. Mike was living in Archie's house rent free for years while Archie was paying all of the expenses. There were references to Mike paying Archie back at some future time, though that never happened, at least not on screen. It was Mike who should have adapted to Archie, not the other way around.
And Mike's attitude was anything but enlightened sunshine.

Let’s remember that Archie Bunker’s offscreen son was Norman Lear, the show’s executive producer.  Lear publicly acknowledged that the character of Archie Bunker was modeled after his real-life father Herman Lear.  Of course Norman loved his father, but what surprised and deeply touched Lear was that as flawed as Archie was, America ended up loving his father.

Penny Marshall grew up at 3235 Grand Concourse, in a building which was also the childhood home of Neil Simon, Paddy Chayefsky, Calvin Klein , and Ralph Lauren
