MK0329 Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Hello, newbie here. Im looking to book at rentmen for the first time here in New York City. Im a bit scared to run into law. Im kinda paranoid that I might be able to book an undercover or something. Does that happen? Or worse, I get scammed off of my money. Any tips please? + azdr0710 1
jeffla Posted May 29 Posted May 29 This is a great site to vet escorts on. I would never see an escort unless guys on this site with longevity as members vouch for them. This is not just to make sure you’re not walking into a trap, but even more so, to make sure that the escort is trustworthy and a fit for your wants. SoFlGuy and Whippoorwill 1 1
MK0329 Posted May 29 Author Posted May 29 Thanks for the tip. Im gonna figure out this site and how to navigate through. Also what would be the going rate? I don’t know what would be a reasonable rate. jeffla 1
Solution + azdr0710 Posted May 29 Solution Posted May 29 stick with well-reviewed providers (in this forum) for legal safety.....always be respectful and friendly....smile, talk slowly, be professional.....don't text/email too much before the meet....to-the-point and discreet......firm handshake, look them in the eye!....here are some newbie hints: https://www.companyofmen.org/topic/142802-etiquette-for-initial-communication/ https://www.companyofmen.org/topic/130365-caveats-in-hiring-please-contribute/ https://www.companyofmen.org/topic/83821-advice-for-a-newbie-please/ https://www.companyofmen.org/topic/103088-newbie-question/ https://www.companyofmen.org/topic/13389-recommendations-for-newbie/ MK0329, marylander1940, Whippoorwill and 3 others 2 3 1
maninsoma Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Use the search function to see if there's already feedback on guys whose ads interest you on Rentmen. If you don't find any previous discussion, you can start a thread to ask about them. MK0329 and Whippoorwill 1 1
pubic_assistance Posted May 29 Posted May 29 18 hours ago, MK0329 said: Im a bit scared to run into law. My advice (like a broken record). NEVER discuss sex for money. Tell them you are interested in their profile. Tell them you thought they were attractive. Tell them you have several "interests" in common. (If they list sexual interests) ..and tell them you would love to meet. Its NOT illegal to pay people for their company. It IS illegal to pay them to suck your dick or fuck you up the ass. So as long as you don't ask for that business arrangement directly, you cant be arrested. (And even if you are for some bizarre reason... they dont have a valid case. ) + Pensant, MK0329, + Just Chuck and 4 others 4 1 1 1
Whippoorwill Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Public_Assistance’s advice is probably good advice. Each of us has to decide what our risk tolerance is. IMO, in the US, your chance of getting busted by Lilli Law is one in tens of millions. Are you a prominent politician of any stripe? Is it election season? Would your name be found in the gossip columns of newspapers around the world? Does your wife have a dick following you? Etc etc. If not, in fact there is little to worry about. I could walk down the street carrying a sign “I pay to take it in the ass” and no one would care, police or old ladies. I have made out like a bandit leaning against a tree in front of the KGB headquarters in the (former) USSR. I’ve participated in orgies in more than one moslem city in the Middle East. Whatever you decide for yourself is correct. Just don’t overly obsess to the degree you spoil your sexual adventures. You only live once and an adventure now and then will extend the quality and extent of your life. My 2 cents. + Pensant, BrooklynIrish, + Vegas_Millennial and 2 others 2 1 1 1
pubic_assistance Posted May 30 Posted May 30 2 hours ago, Whippoorwill said: Each of us has to decide what our risk tolerance is. Exactly. Mine is low. So I dont discuss paying for sex with someone I haven't yet fucked. MY usual repertoire is to hire for "erotic massage". Explain what "interests" we have in common and let them do their thing. If I feel there's a nice vibe and the guy has some skill...THEN I ask about S*E*X for hire. At that point if you're sitting there with a cop who just jerked you off and licked your ass..hes got some serious 'splainin to do back at the precinct. marylander1940, thomas, AtticusBK and 5 others 4 1 3
maninsoma Posted May 30 Posted May 30 I think the risk of running into law enforcement while hiring off Rentmen is far, far lower than the risk of simply hiring someone who fails to deliver on what he advertises. That's the real reason to vet the men whose ads interest you. Sadly, I think this is far more necessary now than 25+ years ago. I think in the earlier days of hiring off the internet, the scam artists hadn't yet figured out it was an avenue they could easily exploit. Whippoorwill, mike carey, + JamesB and 2 others 5

BuffaloKyle Posted May 31 Posted May 31 As has been mentioned in this thread do a search of the forum for whoever you're interested in to see what first hand knowledge has been shared. If you can't find anything you could post a reply on here letting us know who fancies your eye and we can check for you if there's a thread and/or provide any insight we can as you said you're still learning how to navigate the site. Archangel Posted May 31 Posted May 31 I was nervous as hell about “the law” my first hire off Rentmen years ago. I googled the shit out of stuff and actually managed to locate the guy’s real name and day job etc. It was paranoia bordering on stalker level. I understand your trepidation from a personal historical perspective but I can also say unless the ad for the guy you’re considering looks markedly different than the others there, it’s highly unlikely going to be problematic. My working assumption now is that if law enforcement is invested enough to create an ad on RM to lure guys into committing a crime, it’s going to be targeted at things that are overtly illegal like pedophilia, for instance. The level of prep that law enforcement would need to do in order to catch someone through a RM ad wouldn’t pay out unless they were targeting someone in particular – and even then it’s going to be hard for them to pull off well given RM isn’t US based precisely to avoid legality issues. + Just Chuck Posted May 31 Posted May 31 I think law enforcement won't (generally) go out of their way to catch people for sex-for-money crimes as long as: It's clearly between consenting adults. Be cautious of someone who looks fifteen and tells you they're nineteen. It happens discretely and not in public. Use discreet contact methods. A burner email account and a burner VOIP telephone account that aren't attached to your real identity help make it more work to tie a transaction back to you. It's not wrapped up in some other kind of criminal activity that they're actively investigating. If the person you're hiring seems like a criminal aside from being a sex-worker, they (and their phone, computer, etc.) may end up in the hands of law enforcement with a search warrant. I was referring about sting operations, I know several escorts who got caught in Vegas. Of course, scams can happen everywhere... even at your own home you can be scammed out of money.

I think the raid on the high-end brothel outside of Boston might be a good example of the dynamic that you just described. Heidi Fleiss operated a high-end call girl ring in California. I see what they do to 'break the ice' and it's usually a nice embrace / hug with a kiss on the lips and a squeeze of my ass. That always guarantees a great time. It's better than a handshake ! italianboyph Posted June 3 Posted June 3 This forum is also good place to see which and get the 411 on providers, so you know who you're meeting.
