Wouldn’t making sex work legal and regulated contribute to quality of life? It seems that regulation could reduce sex trafficking, spread of STD’s, and underworld influence as well as adding a few dollars to the tax coffers.

I’ve seen a lot of hot cops in NYC.  Firefighters too.

How does this all go down? I’m unclear - did the undercover cops actually get a massage and then get an upgrade offer? Did they pay, which I assume would come from Police Department funds? Did they tip? They came back a few times? Were they naked? Did they have guns with them and while they were on a massage table, were the guns safely stored? 
 

I’m intrigued. My fantasy needs details.

Undercover cops in NYC do not look like typical cops. They look like ordinary folks. Some are actually very attractive, like actors. I'm sure they prefer that.

The ancillary cops that are part of the bust have guns, for sure, but the cops getting the service do not, and they look like ordinary customers at all times. That is how a sting works. It is very difficult to know when one is happening, because undercover cops are well trained in how to appear normal.

I just thank God NYC isn’t wasting precious taxpayer resources on patrolling subways or filling pot holes or picking up trash and instead is now focused on ending handjobs given to people I don’t know by people I’ve never met in places I’ve never been. What a relief! I feel safer already.

You’re so right. But then again, less than six months ago, it was trans athletes who were the problem. So we shouldn’t be surprised they’re targeting the gay community within the LGBTQ umbrella now. It’s all full circle moment for them. We’re the threat? Fuck that! But the homophobes will eat it all up.

I dream of a day where sex work is legal, where our communities are treated with kindness, respect and compassion. Where we work on mental health and stopping true crime over who gets sucked and fucked. That’s a true happy ending.

Unfortunately the predominant narrative is that sex is a power dynamic and anyone related to sex work must either be abused or an abuser.  Until we stop the nonsense that someone can sue claiming a sex act for money was not consensual years after the fact because she/he was powerless but needed the money, it's not going to be as simple as "let's all be adult about this".
