Constantine Posted March 14 Posted March 14 What's your favourite hotel anywhere in the world to stay at but specifically hotels where it's more discrete to bring escorts to, i.e. no need for elevator keycards?

+ Gar1eth Posted March 14 Posted March 14 I haven't stayed at hotel in years. But if we're talking an average place and not a 5 star deluxe, then I often liked either Hamilton Inn or Embassy Suites.

Having the bedroom separated from the hallway by the small living room makes it feel more private. The big atrium space gives me a place to meet and greet before we go upstairs. If the meeting is in the later afternoon or evening, then the bar and "manager's reception" give us a place to pause a grab a drink before or after the meeting. + Gar1eth 1

I remember when the Amangiri in Utah was $1,800 a night. I thought it was insane then. Now it seems like a steal. Nonetheless, the Amankila in Bali will most likely forever be the most luxurious resort I’ve ever stayed in. I just looked at the Aman Tokyo and the Aman Kyoto for an upcoming trip. Yeah. No. + BenjaminNicholas and + ApexNomad 2

Can't find fault with any experience I've had with them. Most repeat stays: Amangiri. Both with clients and personal visits. Also a big fan of Rosewood Hotels. I'll be at the Rosewood London next month for almost three weeks. 2 hours ago, nycman said: I just looked at the Aman Tokyo and the Aman Kyoto for an upcoming trip. Yeah. + Pensant Posted March 15 Posted March 15 My friends and associates always are puzzled by my hotel choices. While I can afford to stay anywhere, if it’s just me I generally choose Courtyard by Marriott or Hilton Garden Inns for business or “liaison” purposes. When in Europe I usually do really nice Airbnbs or more upscale Marriott properties, like Luc in Berlin. If I’m traveling solo I just don’t see the point in spending $700+ to stay in a luxury resort with all the fawning and amenity fees. I attribute this to some distant Mennonite ancestry! + azdr0710, + Charlie and thomas 2 1
+ Lucky Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Le Meridien in Bangkok. Great location, nice rooms, visitors welcome, super buffet breakfast. Very gay friendly.

I'm just happy with cleanliness and safety. Convenient location is more important to me than luxury. I'd rather spend the money on other experiences like nice restaurants, tours, exhibits, etc. I understand that there are many people who can do that and also stay in luxury accommodations - I'm just not one of them! I would rather do two $5000 trips than one $10,000 trip. That said, I would splurge for something like a safari or a trip to the Maldives. But my needs tend to be pretty simple, overall. No camping or hostels though. I would rather stay home than line up to use a washroom. thomas, Lotus-eater and + Pensant 3
+ Charlie Posted March 15 Posted March 15 I haven't done any vacation travel since before COVID, but over the past holidays I drove to Texas to visit family, and stayed each night at motels along the route. I was stunned at the price increases at motels that offered nothing but a basic room to sleep in--e.g., $269 for one night at a Holiday Inn Express in Casa Grande, AZ!! I remember when I could buy a roundtrip air ticket from NY to Europe for that amount. + Gar1eth, + Pensant and CuriousByNature 1 1 1

I stayed at a Locke aparthotel in London last year. It's an interesting alternative to an airbnb. I paid for a studio apartment but they may also have had 1 bedrooms.
Strosj7 Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Has anyone ever stayed at a high end hotel (eg a W or Le Meridien) with attractive MALE massage therapists?

That Scarfes Bar negroni hits differently after a long day. Hope you get a chance to unwind next month. Are you seeing Abba voyage again? The Aman Tokyo lobby is a masterpiece of minimalist elegance. I didn't do the suspension bridge, but hiked all around it over the visits. I always end up taking one of their house BMWs and have them arrange a boat day on Lake Powell. I'm also a big fan of going into Page and drinking lunch at El Tapatio. + ApexNomad 1

On the contrary. I love nudest beaches. Everyone, even super models, have features they wish to hide. Most do it behind bathing costumes that try to hide/flatter the body as much as possible. Once everyone's clothing is removed, we're all on an equal playing field. Even if most men don't have a Huge White Penis (HWP), everyone can be comfortable at a nude beach or hotel. My favorite used to be Escape hotel in Palm Springs and the Worthington in Ft Lauderdale. Alas, both properties have been sold. At least the Worthington in Ft Lauderdale continues to be men-only and clothing optional. I've always been able to bring a guest to my room at every clothing optional hotel I've stayed. marylander1940 1
