The YouTube channel "Mythical Kitchen" has a video series called "Last Meals" where celebrities discuss what they want if they can name anything for their last meal.  The incredibly sexy, hot, smart and funny host: Josh Scherer, always ends with a series of questions.  My favorite is "at your funeral what person, alive or dead, do you want to deliver your eulogy?"

I am having a hard time coming up with one.  But here's my top three:

  1. Billy Connelly
  2. David Attenborough
  3. Andre Braugher

Who are yours?

1. Shohreh Aghdashloo (love her voice; great actress)

2. Morgan Freeman (same as above; great actor)

3. Jennifer Tilly (she has great stories and makes me laugh when she tells them)

4. My brother

Morgan Freeman was almost on my top three.
I am going to have to listen to some Shohreh Aghdashloo and Jennifer Tilly clips.

I love your list.

Check out old clips on YouTube with Craig Ferguson for both actresses on Late Show. You’ll get a laugh. (Craig is another good choice too.)

I remember Barbara Stanwyck’s eulogy of William Holden at the Academy Awards when she won her Oscar life time achievement award. They had appeared together at the Oscars a few years earlier as presenters and he had died in the interim.
They had worked together decades earlier when Holden was a sex symbol but apparently had problems with the Hollywood establishment. Barbara made a very moving tribute to all the people who worked behind the scenes to make actors like her look good on film.
She said Holden would always be her “golden boy” at the conclusion of her remarks in a very emotional moment.

Yes! I remember that fondly. I adored her—an amazing and gracious actress. I recall when she won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for The Thorn Birds. After graciously thanking the behind-the-scenes crew, as she always did, she dedicated the award to Ann-Margret, calling her a “wonderful entertainer” who delivered one of the finest, most beautiful performances she’d ever seen in Who Will Love My Children?.

We don’t see the likes of her anymore.

Maybe I'm taking the question too seriously, but I would want someone who actually knew me.

But if we're just being silly, I'll stick with the living and name Roy Haylock (aka Bianca Del Rio).  She can insult me and all of the mourners equally.  If I can bring someone back from the dead, then Joan Rivers.

Bozo would want his funeral to be a celebratory occasion, to celebrate the life and times of Bozo.
Since we can include people who are deceased, Bozo would want Paul Lynde and Joan Rivers to deliver eulogies at his funeral.

You wouldn't want Cookie to do the honors?

You heartless clown.

I think I’d go for Jennifer Coolidge. Her wacky personality is pretty opposite to mine, but I appreciate the off-kilter approach. It hints at the absurdity of life, and that seems perfect for a funeral.

I thought you might choose Ronald McDonald

WSC would be a great choice.

I assume you mean the real WSC, one of the greatest English language orators of all time.

I do.
‘We shall go on and fight it out, here or elsewhere, and if this long island story of ours is to end at last, let it end when each of us lies choking in his own blood upon the ground’.

A less well-known quote from the great man...

"Success consists of going from massage to massage without loss of enthusiasm."

Another way of thinking about this is have you ever been asked to give a eulogy and do you think you did the departed justice with what you said?

I’ve done several including for my father. What  provoked this thought was that I was asked earlier today by a minister in a local church to give a eulogy at a celebration of life of one of his parishioners when it takes place, probably in March. I of course agreed since I am the woman’s executor and knew her very well.

I hope I can rise to the occasion.
