Why do NO-SHOWS happen?

It is just a case of bad manners.  With texting so easy, there is almost no  excuse short of an accident or sudden death!

I suspect there's also some of the me, me thing, and maybe some just don't know what to say or feel some elaborate excuse has to be given.

I can't imagine that if you can make an appointment, you can't at least nofity someone you won't be able to keep the appointmen - for whatever reason.

I agree with what you said 100%! If you have the ability to make an appointment, then you have the ability and should have the courtesy to cancel the appointment……even if you lie and say “I’ve been in a wreck”, which I’ve heard before!

+1 on the effort to book =same effort to cancel.

Or someone can also just be honest and offer to reschedule or send a cancellation courtesy. Otherwise it’s going to be hard for that client to keep up with his fibs lol.

Did your client show up?

He did! In the end it worked out ok and he apologised. We had a good session and he left happy (minus two loads 😂). In his case it was genuinely because he got caught out by demonstrations in London. I’m glad I gave him a chance.

I think it’s impossible to work in a customer facing industry and completely avoid either inconsiderate clients or scheduling foul ups. For the many good clients who are great to see you’ll get a few who are trouble, and a fair share of time waste enquiries. That’s the way of life and whilst you do all you can to minimise the incidence of bad ones they only serve to put in contrast the majority who are great.

Well that’s good to know. And in cases like that, at least the person communicated with you and was making the effort.

It’s when it comes down to the other stuff I have an issue with. Like the ones who contact like two years later out the blue expecting to meet right here, right now…and can’t seem to have a slightest patience to actually plan a time. Well if they waited two years, how is 2 hours going to do much harm? (reminds me of when you said, “makes you wonder if they seen a dick somewhere and suddenly got in the mood”) lol.

I may even start implementing a rule: if it’s been more than a year since a client has reached out, and they couldn’t manage to meet the last time they contacted: I may just not respond. Or just send an auto reply along those lines and say, “The first inquiry was free, but it’s $25 if you wish to request a booking again.”

I suspect that a lot of the no-show clients were really just fantasizing about the meetup and to extend the fantasy a little further, they message the escort of masseur.   Then, before they actually go to meet up, they masturbate to the fantasy . . . and then it's over.

My thoughts exactly!!!!

This is exactly why I don’t think it’s asinine in any shape or fashion to ask a consultation payment before communicating with prospective clients.

$25 to talk to the man of your…wet dreams? That’s a BARGAIN! Try contacting any of these guys for sex talk and see how much they’ll charge: more like $2,500 🤨 per minute. And $50,000,000 just to fuck them 🤔

I no showed today.

I managed to leave the house without my wallet and didn't realize for half an hour (and I gather more than showing, the masseur really likes it when I pay) and I didn't take his phone number with me so I couldn't call or text.  Traffic conspired to utterly destroy my efforts to get money in a timely fashion (I had to go the bank with my digital bank card and it takes some time to convince a bank to work along those lines) and then traffic further conspired to utterly destroy my efforts to move more than about half a block per fives minutes.

Sometimes, the gods just don't give a fuck.

So I messaged and apology when I got home and we rebooked.

is not technically a no show if you call after, apologize, reschedule and show up in the next appointment.

I’m just curious about this line: is that something you’d normally do? Or was it something all planned by email only?

I always ask to keep phone contact in the process of the arrival. Mainly because I’m not big on just having a knock at the door even if it’s at the specified time. I prefer a client let me know when he’s arrived.

Case in point: years ago when I had a full time incall, I had a doorbell ring. I opened the door and it was a cop 👮🏻‍♂️ I was like, oh shit. But it wasn’t because I was in trouble, it was just a nosey neighbor concerned about what they thought was a dead cat 🐈‍⬛ in a crate. I chuckled 🤭 and explained: my cat ran away, I was simply trying to see if it could be coaxed back, with its favorite Davy Crockett raccoon tail hat like it did the other night it ran away. Problem solved, but cat never came back the 2nd time 🤷🏾‍♂️

Now imagine if hypothetically at the same time, I was waiting on a client who said he would “knock when he’s arrived”, and I opened the door with perhaps…nothing on? Nope. Best to phone upon arrival.

We'd only corresponded through his site listing and his place was a buzzer for admission.   Typically I don't give practitioners my number and if they aren't good with that we don't do business.  Doesn't matter to me.

I'm amazed some escorts would make plans by email or Rentmen IM only, specially knowing most hotels and apartment buildings require a key to go up in the elevator. Folks nowadays don't even knock on doors, they just text.

They happen in all human activities commercial, personal, etc. but they're highly annoying when they happen to providers because they are the product.

  1. Regret
  2. Cold feet.
  3. Got someone closer, better, cheaper?
  4. Prank
  5. The guy is a loser and can't afford hiring...

I was on my way to a massage once and got into a car accident. I called. I’m sure he thought I was lying. I saw him months later and said yeah I really was.

Yeah I would never. Majority of “I don’t give my number” types don’t show up. Or won’t answer the door upon arrival.

And tonight is another proven reason why I only see clients who do deposits. Too many people can’t be trusted. Granted, tonight I went to meet a friend (non-client, just a FB), and texted him I was on my way. I get there, still texting no response. Call, phone just rings.  Pretty sure he’ll text me at some point in the next few hours like, “omg I’m so sorry I blah blah blah” like he’s done once, maybe twice before. 3rd time is taking advantage of grace.

No fuck that. If I can’t trust someone to pick up the phone when I arrive, the most basic courtesy of things: it’s over. He won’t be getting another visit from me ever, unless he can reimburse the hour I spent going there and back.

And that’s another reason too I don’t do too much free hookups either. Taking someone like me who’s used to people sending deposits before I meet them, only to go see someone for free and not get paid after: that’s foreign to me. They have to really have something out of this world for me to want to do that on a regular basis, and even then I ask most my hookups to either come to me when I can host, be prepared to leave something for coming unless they are a really good host.

No-shows happen in every profession where scheduled appointments are the norm.  It’s just life.  The issue arises for any professional when no-shows become a pattern and disrupt the business.  If some professionals in same type business experience significantly more no-shows that others, then it’s time to look at how the professional screens clients and the booking process.

I can see where providers may experience more no-shows than doctors/lawyers - yet, some providers do not seem to have the same no-show issues described here.  It’s always helpful to look at the things the professional can be change & adjust accordingly vs just blame the clients.

I’ll bet no-show clients in provider context are much more frequent in small cities vs large urban centers where hiring is less frequent & clients may have less experience.  If a provider is operating in those type market areas and no-shows are more prevalent - then that’s a cost of doing business because it is a choice.

I can’t ever remember being a no-show to a provider because those appointments stand-out to me.  I can remember being a no-show to a dentist once or twice where the appointments are booked 6-months in advance with no reminders.  Humans are imperfect - sometimes we just forget even with the best intentions.  And things happen that just prevent a client from arriving at appointment on-time.  Either way, a call to the professional is appropriate with an explanation & apology.

Well, mine did.  We talked about no shows and he seemed entirely unstressed about it, that it wasn't something that happened to him a lot and he believed most times there was a good reason.  Now he's a masseur and a pretty zen character, just goes with the flow.  Conversely, I'm amazed at people sending deposits.  Way too much information if you are unlucky enough to wind up in the hands of a dishonest operator, which the board tells us from time to time can happen.  I'm kinda like my masseur in that respect, I like things uncomplicated.  And if that doesn't work for one guy, it's bound to work for somebody else.  Uncomplicated.

Old walk up building.  He just gave me the particulars.  Very easy to work with.

Considering so many guys get lost I'm amazed someone would make plans without a way to communicate.

before mobile phones - people managed just fine without the need for constant communication.  they even traveled the world without maps, texting, translation apps, etc.  Not so difficult to make it across town for an appointment.
I think there is way too much reliance on phones when a little common sense will do.  Schedule a time & show up - not complicated.

In fairness we both thought I would have it if need be, I just forget.  But he happily provided all the particulars anyway, which is fairly old school and low maintenance about it all.

My favorite excuses from providers who stood me up over the years (yes it happens that way too) -

1. was delayed on set for my only fans Channel, was naked and didn’t have my phone nearby

2. was high and lost track of time but thinking about you the whole time

3. got intimidated by the thought of meeting you because you sounded so awesome on the phone ..,

4. I had a chat with my bf right before you were supposed to come and we agreed to be exclusive

One time I scheduled an overnight with a provider at his hotel room, and I could go right up to the room. I texted an hour before to confirm, he said all good. I arrive and text from the lobby, no response. I wait another ten minutes and text, no response. After that, I left assuming he flaked or booked another client… no worries from me. About an hour later the provider finally responded back saying he had fallen asleep and hoped me knocking on the door would have woken him up!

While I certainly have clients who cancel or reschedule  (one of them do it quite frequently),    I don't have a lot of just "no shows".    One that did apologized later,  explaining that something came up and he didn't have time to contact me.    I didn't blow up,  but apology or not,  I just reminded him that I expect to be notified in advance if a client can't be at a booking.    I tend not to take them seriously afterward.
