Stalking

Recommended Posts

Have you ever been stalked by a provider ?
Something like after the meeting, they go looking for personal information about the client.  Once they have a real phone number, they can find out almost anything.  And if they’ve been to your home, then even worse.

I’ve definitely had a couple guys let me know they knew more information about me.  Nothing ever happened, but a general feeling that someone is up to no good and trying to leverage something.

In todays world of course, that doesn’t just happen with providers.  Anyone can do it if they think they have some valuable information.  Kind of twisted & creepy for sure.  Then factor in all the information available online and it’s a breeding ground for the mentally unwell.

Never have had that experience,   but I think this post is a reminder that "professionalism"  includes a defensive stance with your own personal information.    It is very easy to become comfortable with someone who seems sincere and friendly, but who can turn on a dime.

Thanks for the reminder and I hope you have no issues from those who seemed too nosy.

agree.
some providers won’t answer alternate phone numbers - evidently, there is way to determine if it’s a “burner number” vs your real phone number

as mentioned, I’ve never had anything actually happen.  just not a good feeling when someone has made an effort to investigate.

tbh - in the provider world, there are many guys with lots of problems.  It’s a numbers game - eventually you’re going to run into someone who has bad intentions.  Lots of legit guys too who are professional.  but it’s not like we’re dealing with a regulated & licensed profession- buyer beware

Is this true? I’ve never had a problem using a burner number (that I’m aware of). I’ve tested burner numbers by using them to call and text my real number, and I don’t see how they could be identified as such. I’d appreciate more on this, if anyone knows.

I did have a scary situation with an A4A contact last year where the person tried to blackmail me

this brings back a memory - not blackmailed, but definitely stalked by an online hookup many years ago.
At the time, I was living alone in a single family home.  This guy would show up unannounced at my front door and didn’t live anywhere close by.  It didn’t seem dangerous, but did seem very strange & creepy.  Months & weeks would go by before it would happen again.  It only stopped when I got a boyfriend that moved in that same house and answered the door when the creeper was there.  That was the end of it.

I think IRL and online stalking are way more common than people realize.

I was stalked online on this very forum long ago by a provider that was going to out my precense and messages here. My original username here is @SoCal it's still there with a very old original join date! Switched to current username to continue participation until "stalker" went away and never went back to @SoCal!

I had a really pissed provider who kept finding ways to text me after I blocked him, but I just blocked each new one. I believe he's sober now.

I had escorts place fake warnings about me that I had to get removed. At least one faker is on this forum - they used a few words that were only used here.

It doesn't bother me and never has. If you saw the cluster I put into the target at my last practice, you'd see why.

Not a problem with the Burner app for iPhone. Search for much discussion elsewhere here on the forum.

I think it’s safe to say that “burner numbers” cannot be traced to a specific person - thus, providing some additional privacy protection.  Law enforcement & the cell phone carriers can trace burners as they are routed through the real cell phone number.

However, saying a burner number is not traceable is not the same as saying that the burner number can be verified as a fake number.  Real phone numbers will yield a treasure trove of information with reverse lookups, etc.  When no information comes up searching a burner number, then a provider could determine that’s a burner number they won’t reply to.

I had the app Hushed for quite some time (same as Burner - both ranked best 2 apps for second numbers) and my provider call back ratio was a fraction compared to my real phone number.  A provider who became a friend told he routinely checks searches phone number data and won’t return calls to numbers he thinks are burners.

Also - there are many apps that will recognize burner numbers and those numbers cannot be used to authenticate certain online services.  Perhaps the technology is getting better and this is becoming less of an issue.

And to be fair to the providers - there are many “clients” that stalk & harass them.  Or, at the very least they are bombarded with calls, texts, inquiries and the vast majority do not hire.  So, of course there has to be a screening process to weed out the time-wasters & fakes.  Thus, my preference to stick with a few trusted providers to avoid the inevitable time-consuming screening process.

there’s more than one here. and some operate under various names.  it’s been discussed here before & of course, this is a prime environment if someone is looking to mine personal information from others.  I think most of this goes on by private messaging.

It’s not unique to this forum, the same things happen in every online community.  This just tends to attract a few more people on the margins given the subject matter.  It is to be expected.

I’ve had warnings from some providers - not triggered by anything, perhaps more them acting in pre emptive self defense - kind of like “here are the rules, if you don’t follow them I can and will take action …”

easy to forget providers have concerns re the law, their personal safety generally especially if always hosting etc

For those who have not yet tried it, Session Messenger is what I use for private comms since its release.  You can download it, create a Session ID and send it to whomever you're looking to communicate with and then either keep it or delete it and create a new one.

For example, Bob the client doesn't want to use his number nor burner apps, he creates a Session ID, sends it via RM messenger or on here to the provider, the provider adds the ID and you can text, send voice memos (I use this often) or a voice call (still in Beta, currently exposes IP). If the (in-person) session goes well, you can keep the ID, if the session was a dud and you don't want to ever talk to the provider again, you can delete your ID, create a new one and you're g2g. Costs nothing, highly decentralized/private and can be re-used (n))x

I use this in my business to maintain client privacy while giving open comms channels for everyone to chat in a group setting, and also for 1-on-1 chats. No phone number/area code, etc considerations required for this service. Global compatibility.

AMA in my DM's.  Happy to walk you through the tech/setup.

Session is a private messenger that aims to remove any chance of metadata collection by routing all messages through an onion routing network.

Ironically many providers use burner apps/phones as well.

Absolutely - and I would have no problem with that.

not to mention if you wanted to keep a low profile with law enforcement or protect your privacy / safety why put out info such as your number that can be used to extract your name … that you don’t even have to have a conversation to obtain (like dollar amounts or addresses)

What do you suggest an escort should do if  say ...

They meet a client (at clients hotel) for an overnight [$2,000 rate], the client pays up front $1,000, but the next morning when the client attempts to transfer the remaining balance via cash app, apple pay etc the client claims to be "maxed out" and they make a promise to pay the next business day.

Then, two days later on Monday, theyve ghosted / blocked the escort from reaching them? [and they used a burner number to make the appt]

This is a fairly typical scam that a novice escort will fall victim to when first starting out. Thats why experienced, professional escorts tend to never agree to meet someone using a fake phone number.

And vice versa, a client should not feel comfortable meeting with a stranger in their home / hotel  with someone whos using a fake phone number.

Escorts / Clients = who use a fake number are attempting to hide their identity and information from being known = major red flag.

Ironically, when Ive been hired by movie actors, billionaire business titans, fashion designers etc = None has ever attempted to use a fake phone number.

The most famous user of burner numbers to date; Rex Heuermann "Long Island Murderer"

thats the type of slime who enjoys the "comfort and privacy" afforded by a fake burner number.

"Fake warnings" ... lmfao ...

EXTREMELY INACCURATE to claim that an escort will post "fake negative comments" unless they were actually provoked to do so.

If those escorts (which posted about you) had a pleasant experience, they would not have needed to post a warning to others.
