Number of Escorts

Honestly, I wonder that there's not more, considering the attraction of easy money potentially getting a few hundred dollars a pop.    RM in NYC only lists 870 which seems paltry for a city of 8.4 M.  The discouraging factors push down the numbers considerably.

RM's near monopoly in the US for escort listings is an interesting factor.  The downtier sites like mintboys have a much different mix of guys and there doesn't seem to be much overlap with RM.  I'm guessing mintboys got most of the guys looking to make a quick buck after the demise of Backpage and Craigslist.

Does anyone else know other websites besides RM that have listings?  Others mentioned escort hookups on apps like Grindr?  I recall there is also a UK website but cannot remember the name of it (SleepyBoy, perhaps?).

Yes it’s Sleepyboy. That’s the main site here. There’s also Adultwork.com. Plus others. If you try to work from Grindr you’ll get banned by them.

Please, excuse my naivete.  I've been scrolling through RM and am absolutely gobsmacked at the number of male escorts, just in his country alone.  I never thought there were this many men out there willing to offer themselves as escorts.  Am I really this naive or has this always been the norm?

Isn't it great? My guess is that social networking was a game changer and ushered in the new normal about 25 years ago. I was late to the party but doing my best to catch up now. 😉

I can’t give you a percentage, but consider discounting that number at least to some extent. Some are using those listings solely to drive people to their OF/JFF sites. Others are dipping a toe (or other appendage) into the pool to see what it’s all about because social media/internet and somewhat less social stigma makes it a lot easier to slap up an ad and see what happens. The number of people truly escorting and taking it seriously likely hasn’t changed much.

And they’re still heavily concentrated in a few urban centers.

IMHO. It’s my observation, others may see it differently and I respect that.

You make more in an hour than the suckers on minimum wage make working 8 hours.

I would not refer to workers who receive a paltry minimum wage as "suckers."  They're every day folk who do what's best for them at the time.  The minimum wage should be increased country-wide, for folks can't live on it and it alone.

Last evening I reflected on my "go-to-guy" who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and who I have been seeing off and on for almost five years now.  I think he's in his mid 30s although he lists his age as 28.  He's held up reasonably well and still looks damn good, but currently  my two faults with him are his smoking and his change of sexuality in his ad.

For years he classified himself as "Bisexual;" today it's "Straight," and I've seen a change in his behavior when we've recently played.  Before he super-passionately kissed, allowed and desired his ass to be probed by my fingers allowing me "to tap that hot spot," and the last time that we were together, he used "straight porn" on his cell in order to get hard.  That was a complete turn off for me and have given me cause to my seeing him in the future.

Currently his fee is $300 per hour--up from the $250 that I've given him up until last month.

My thoughts were in the range of how long does he intend to escort.  This has never been discussed between the two of us and might never be if I intend to part the way.
