Twice I've paid 375, which I thought was high, but I'm now feeling better after reading some of these threads . Seems to be normal.

My recent experience has been that you can certainly find good escorts in Montreal who charge less than $300Cdn per hour. Not by too much tho so above $250. In that range.

Or Mexico…

But then again, 100-200 likely goes further than here. Like hotels in even mediocre cities are running in that range.

I know a fellow who has been traveling to Columbia more frequently because he says he can find attractive rent-boys for as little as $ 100.

The cost of hotel, sex and dinner is less than an hour with any of the fine young gentlemen who work in the US.  Your US dollar goes further, the further you go.

What I would want to know is: how are the rent boys faring?

It’s one thing to say somebody can get ‘em cheaper in another country, but what’s the situation like for them?

Remember here in America: clients expect us to host, and have nobody else in the house/hotel, etc etc. All that costs money. On top of that: clients want to be protected from stds, this and that virus, etc. I can do clients for $100: but I’ll need to be setting 3-6 times the amount to make up for it. Do I really want to be seeing 3-6 times the amount of clients? Do YOU want to see someone who has to see 3-6 times the amount of clients?

And let’s just face it: people out here probably aren’t really buying s*x like they may do in some other countries. many profiles on Grindr and Adam are about how such and such doesn’t pay and that said person should go and get a “job” (when reality it’s more of a projection of how much of a cheap ass and tight wad they actually are even if money wasn’t involved).

That’s why I said awhile back: I rather ask $250-500/hr-couple hrs and be okay, than to do half that and still not be able to fill in enough clients to make it worthwhile.

This whole reply is spot-on.

A lot of guys go the cheap sex tourism route.  I don't personally support it when it's at bargain basement pricing and you know the escorts still aren't making the money they need/want to make.

Added, it's got to be a mental drag for a client to know they're in this position.

If he’s too expensive for you you’re shopping in the wrong shop. Client “That’s expensive, my regular guy charges £100” Me : “go to your regular guy then”.

No one is forcing you to pay the rate that your prospective provider is asking. It’s not like he’s the only guy in town and you’re buying a life essential is it?  You can decide to go elsewhere or just not buy. However the reason he does what he does for payment is precisely because he has qualities and skills you can’t get elsewhere. So pay his rate if you value what he does.

Some people seem to think doing this kind of work is easy. Almost like it’s so easy and fun it should be done for free. Those people should try it for a while and see just how ‘easy’ it is. Set yourself up in the business, charge the kind of rates you think you’d be happy to pay. See how long you last….

From a client's perspective, I've increasingly gone the route of paying for more time with better escorts than less money for less time with more escorts.

At this point, I'd rather meet once a month  or so for a few hours or an overnight with a guy I know who is great than spend $200-$250 a few times a month on some random guys who I have no idea if we'll connect.

And in the end it's actually the same if I spend $1000 for a great time with a guy than $250 four times with "meh" guys.

One thing that’s worth noting: over the past few years in the states, RentMen has pretty much become the monopoly site to be on. The only other sites to “shop” are either A4A, hookup apps or some of the very underground sites like “escort alligator”.

I will have to say, fortunately I get far less “my other guy for $100” stories. Most of that though, tends to be from the A4A brigade. I think I’m going to take the step and remove myself from that platform, because it’s simply not making me hardly any money nowadays. I get the hits and exposure, but over the last couple years it’s really gone downhill. Not to mention they won’t allow rates and their mobile version barely allows any advertising or suggestion of being a professional.
