  1. are you also applying that logic to the transphobic, misogynistic and homophobic language in bdsm roleplay or only raceplay because it makes you personally uncomfortable and offended? Reenacting rape and sexual violence in CNC A-okay too? Seems pretty inconsistent and hypocritical of you in addition to being pretty obnoxious telling people what they should and should not do in the privacy of their own bedrooms with other consenting adults.
  2. It has been my experience that the state of public health and the response to pandemics have greater effect on business than inflation. Fear of catching the omicron virus last winter or something as painful as monkey pox were more of a deterrent in hiring providers than paying an extra couple bucks for a gallon of gas. When public health is good, business tends to be good.
  3. Unemployment is low and wages are up. There's a labor shortage. Employers are providing more competitive offers to get hires. The world of escorting hasn't been untouched by such dynamics. Despite inflation, the effect has been opposite. People have been able to raise their rates with ease and little loss if any. There was a short-lived dip when monkey pox rates were looking bad and as there was a struggle to get vaccines out, but that subsided by mid to late August. Other than that business is at pre-covid levels or better. I don't see why providers would lower their rates.
  4. It may enable clients to ask questions, but such does not fully enable providers to freely give answers that certain clients may not find comforting to certain preconceived notions. May I gently and lightly suggest that "learning" and over enforcement of "no arguments allowed" is quite a difficult balance to strike? My apologies if this is not the place for me to pose such propositions. If this, indeed, is not the appropriate place then by all means... carry on as you were.
  5. I'm not telling people what to do. I posed a question and I'm expressing my opinion which I have just as much right to do as you. Tough shit buddy. It's absurd that clients provide an avalanche of responses to posts like this before one provider gets even one word in. The forum should be titled something else if we think that ought to be the norm. My opinion, my right to express it...in a forum titled "Ask a Provider". Tough shit. Deal with it.
  6. No, I don't wonder at all why so few providers come on here or why many leave the business after 1-2 years or why some clients on here get less-than-optimal experiences. That is not a wonder to me whatsoever. Incorrect, try again.
  7. No when clients think a provider should act like it's a one-sided arrangement of servitude, rather than a completely two-sided mutually autonomous deal, in an industry that doesn't have a 1-2 year turnover rate while not being in the middle of a labor shortage while not alongside daily complaints as to why clients continue to receive less than optimal experiences for years and years on end as they aimlessly continue to wonder "Why, oh why me". Good clients are more likely to get good providers. That's just how it works. Sorry to bear that inconvenient news.
  8. Then let's not cluelessly wonder why so few providers come on here when even a forum titled "Ask a Provider" is inundated with a stream of responses from clients prior to any provider getting so much as a chirp in. While we're at it lets also not wonder why many providers leave the business after 1-2 years or why so many clients complain on here about the less-than-optimal experiences they receive. You sleep in the bed you make for yourselves.
  9. No, hubris would be blaming the rentmen website or the provider for one's inability or unwillingness to pay attention to the most basic of details on an ad... that's listed not once but twice for you. You deserve crappy escorts who show up two hours late or who can't get it up if you're that level of arrogant. It is completely deserved for yes lazy, dumb behavior/attitude. Why? Because other clients who are capable of scheduling appointments with ease and efficiency like a sane minimally competent adult are the ones who get the time of better-quality escorts. That's just how it works buddy. But we can continue to wonder otherwise in our online bubble of circularly enabled aggrievement as to why we continue to get bad experiences with other providers. What. A. Joke.
  10. I think a tutorial video for clients is a fantastic idea. However, I guarantee even that won't eradicate the problem entirely. Some people are still going to continue to be lazy, dumb or both. In the words of Ron White "You can't fix stupid". A questionnaire seems like a hassle but getting that clarification out of the way early on is the only solution I see. But there are clients where getting any kind of information clarified or any plans established is like pulling teeth. Besides the social stigma of the work, clients being so incapable of scheduling an appointment is probably the most annoying aspect of the job. For many, they are able to do it with such ease and efficiency. For others, I have to bang my head against my desk.
  11. I wouldn't change that setting because there are clients competent enough to read the dates next to the cities and who are courteous enough to schedule in advance prior to me coming to that city. All of which makes a smooth planning of things for some of my best encounters. It is overall beneficial for clients to see what cities I'm traveling to prior to me getting there. Unfortunately, not all clients are competent or courteous. Our About Me has a small limit of characters that we can type. There's not enough room to repeat information that is already provided elsewhere on the ad. GPS settings show which city I am in and yet they don't even bother to look at that either and still think I'm in their city. So, this information is already provided twice with travel dates and with my GPS location, yet they don't bother reading either and still get confused. Having such information a third time on my ad probably would have little effect. Many clients don't read the About Me section anyways. I guess the only solution would be to set up an automatic questionnaire as suggested by Jarrod which sounds like a pain in the ass for both parties but less of a pain in the ass than me finding in route or after scheduling to meet that we're not even talking about the right city.
  12. I would agree except most of the time there's more clients than providers responding to a post in this forum. It is titled "ask a provider". Some of them are chomping at the bit to give their overlyconfident answer too. The first string of responses were all from clients, all criticizing the provider. Their input would be fine with more humility and alongside more input by more providers first. Otherwise, we should call this forum something else. At a deeper level it really shows an unwillingness to hear providers' point of view on things and drown it out with their own point of view on what they think is fair and how they think a provider is supposed to act....in a forum titled "Ask a Provider" of all places. Yuck. It defeats the purpose of this forum and many providers are probably like "why even bother with this place". On other corners of this site, I've seen some of the worst sentiments, mentalities and ineptitude being enabled in this industry. Would be nice to have at least one section where providers can have their voices being prioritized.
  13. This has been a continuous persistent problem since the beginning of the ancient era of rentboy. Client requests to meet at a hotel downtown. I find out last minute when I arrive, he meant a hotel downtown at a different city! Oh joy! Argues that my ad pops up when he searches that given city, so its not his fault. Okay, did you look at the ad? Did you look at dates next to the cities? Near travel? Do you know what it means? Home location, is that confusing to understand? Are these really difficult concepts to grasp? Why are you blaming the rentmen website or me for you being lazy and carelessly looking over such details on an ad? Or you not being able to comprehend "near travel" or "home location"? Now you've wasted both our time. This shouldn't be difficult. Scheduling an appointment with an escort shouldn't be difficult! For the love of god, why is this hard? It seems like every day I have to explain what "near travel" and "home location" mean. Is it also really that difficult to read the dates next to travel cities? Is there any solution to this besides having to remind every client which city you are in at a given moment prior to meeting? It's quite a hassle.
  14. why are clients always answering in a forum titled ask a provider? it helps to be as specific as possible when contacting a provider. that's been said ad nauseum on here. he was probably tired of dealing with other flakey vague time-wasting nonsense. doesn't completely justify his response, but if you want better responses then just get to the point at answering questions and be specific about meeting. time date location. it isn't complicated. scheduling an appointment with a provider shouldn't be such an insurmountable challenge.
  15. The simplest matters are made unnecessarily extraordinarily complicated in this work. Date, time, location. Why must that be an insurmountable challenge for so many? Every day I'm continuously amazed. When a client communicates clearly, lays everything out about what they want, gets to the point on the details of location time and books an appointment in advance, it is like reading pure poetry.
