Wether it's conscious, or unconscious, virtue signaling, or if some are in fact offended by the OP's use of the word "Imported", the implication was clearly tongue-in-cheek, a sly reference to how different from, not similar to, his situation is to bringing in, say, foreign cigars.

You all remind me of the students in that Netflix Sandra Oh show about professors, wherein one, hot in a nebbish way (but the actor is not Jewish), professor lost everything  after making a small, sarcastic, Nazi Salute that was, in the context of what he was explaining in lecture, completely useful.

Eh? I’m very surprised @xyz48B. First, you consider a thread started only 8 weeks ago as “oooold”. But secondly, you then express your distaste.

Reading between the lines, I felt the OP was lonely and seeking a more fulfilled sexual and social life.

I thought it said 2020, not 2021.

By “icky” I meant problematic, not disgusting. Like…this has the potential to go in a bad direction.

Thanks for providing folks a chance to pile on though by responding to my comment. I’m sure they enjoyed the chance to react negatively to something I’ve said yet again.

Really @xyz48B it’s not all about you.

I think the posters here were genuinely trying to help the OP with their advice and comment on the possible pitfalls of his plan.

I understand that…

I was saying it isn’t something I think wise by saying icky.

Geez.

Others have said the same. And also commented on the genuine ickiness of using the word “import.” Which I do agree, sarcasm or snark or not, is an icky way of speaking of it – icky in the sense of distasteful.

I am in a similar situation. If I do anything at all I will probably end up using the fiance visa just to get the guy here and spend time with him. In the US I am told it takes at least 8 months to get that visa then if he got the visa we would have to marry within 90 days of his arrival. (I am told that that period can be extended in certain cases.) We could use those 90+ days to see how things went. He has strong family ties in his country and might decide to go home. He also has a decent job where he lives and I hate to uproot him. It's a challenging situation.

This reminds me of the show “90 Day Fiancé.” There have been some good success stories there. The legal part of it is always complicated, though. Things rarely go as planned on that front. But I suppose that makes for good television too…

Based on my own experience decades ago, admittedly when laws were more restrictive and gay marriage was not an option, I would still say, proceed with caution.

Still, life only comes by once and if you don't follow your heart at times, you miss out on a lot, including heartbreak, of course.

there's also tourist visas for 6 months and student visas for much longer.

i stick with attraction to ESTA guys so I can shuffle every 3 months.

the worst situation is when you end up with someone who has overstayed their visa or is otherwise "illegal". harder not to marry so they can stay. But you must think of yourself first.

@tassojunior– That’s right. There are ways to come into the country without it being about the prospect of marriage. That isn’t to say you can’t get married on, say, a student visa. It’s probably safer for all parties involved if the immigrating party comes in some other way than the K1.

A few brazilian strippers/ escorts I've seen in new york come in as "students"... They have hot bodies but have been perpetually students for the past 10 years. They cycle through new york  then to spain then brazil to avoid overstaying.

With no real intention of being permanently here? Don’t student visas require you stay in the home country for a duration after return before your eligible to come again as a student? It’s been over a decade since I was a study abroad student so I don’t actually remember…

I think they're really overstaying their student visa in the US and then starting the Brazil/Spain rotation many do so they can see their families in Brazil. I know several South Americans in that student-overstay situation and their main problem is not getting to see their families or visit home as a US overstay.

For a while there were a lot of Brazilians from Spain working Paragonya in Zurich. Other escorts started complaining they were working without Swiss permits.

It surprises me how they boast about how easy it is to get a “student” visa. There are a myriad of american languages schools in midtown that provide this service. The surprising thing is that no one questions it…lol.  Once they get here, they charge 350 a session… or 2K overnight and make a lot of cash.  The one I know even charges me for MTA metrofare so he makes his full ask. I‘ve stopped seeing him when he said his new rate is 400.  Work a few months and travel to another city.

I like your idea with the ESTA shuffle :) I get bored easily.

That the OP hasn't been back to keep spreading around his black cloud should be looked at as a welcome thing.

He embodied his screen name.  He was lonely because he had the personality of dryer lint.

This is about as personal an attack as I have ever seen here. It really should be deleted.

Guys need to have thick skin to post on here. I was nearly assaulted when I called a new provider “fresh meat”

Plenty of times folks have been "assaulted" because of you using that term @MikeBiDude objected the use of that word several times.

South American escort are happy of all the possibilities this country gives them and unlike others they wisely save and invest as much as possible.

I know an Uruguayan escort overstaying his visa for 15 years who's worth over 2,000,000 in real estate back home.

I wish @lonely_johnwell and hope that he returns soon.

He'll be back, don't worry! Many people have said they were done and later came back... to the best of my knowledge @franklyrich was the only one who kept his word. Others even started threads about them leaving asking for their membership to be deleted and also came back.

I believe the OP is a Canadian and probably should have mentioned that as each country has different immigration regimes.

I know two Latin American providers in Toronto who are both gay and married compatriots to get them into the country. Their spouses were female but the process would have been similar if they had been males since marriage between males is now treated the same way as between male and female or 2 females.

I treat their info with the greatest discretion and wouldn't divulge their names since we trust each other with our private life info. But just to say it can be done. And now these women are living their own lives in Canada separate from their "sponsors".

Back to subject and I'm no expert on anything Canadian but learning English and specially French would improve his chances of being accepted.

Have you thought about marriage @lonely_john ?

pot. kettle. black.

If one of the mods doesn't like it, they can ask me to delete it or take it down themselves.

Sometimes people don't like hearing the truth.  But it's still the truth.
