I have personal experience from several cities, including one you mention, and know of several more. I was introduced in person over thirty years ago. Last visit was right before Covid in a city in Western Europe, 1500 euros for three hours, very high end accommodations and outstanding selection.

There is a sauna with working boys in Madrid, called Sauna Adan.

I have never been, but was told it is not the best sauna (the quality of the premises is not great, the choice is not like Barcelona...)

But if you can't go to Barcelona, still better than nothing.

According to some of the travel sites, Sauna Adan in Madrid is now closed.  Best to call ahead.

Yes, I think Sauna Adan is closed... I was in Madrid back in September and walked by and I didn't see it.  I have been there before a few times... definitely not as good as Sauna Thermas in Barcelona

I lived in Iran in the 1960s when I was in my '20s. There was lots of consensual gay sex going on with high school - '20s - '30s young men, as girls were pretty much kept under lock and key. And then there were the bathhouses, where most everyone went on a weekly basis for cleanliness...and where a massage in a private room was 25¢, and another 25¢ to get fucked by the masseur. Let's just say I got a lot of massages. Illegal, immoral, whatever...they don't pay any more attention to their mullahs than we do to our ministers and priests when it comes to cock. 

This was during the Viet Nam war, when the US military put out a guide to brothels in the Far East, for G.I's on R & R. Both Taiwan and Bangkok were notorious for sex tourism, so I returned to the States via Asia. In the cab from the Bangkok airport to my hotel, the cabbie handed me brochure after brochure for brothels with women. Seeing I had no interest, he reached into his glove compartment and pulled out half a dozen brochures for the brothels with young men. I picked out a brothel, went there, and had a choice of maybe ten sexily-dressed boys vying for my attention. I payed the "madam" the fee to take him for the night. When I returned to my first class hotel with him, the doorman and other hotel workers smiled ear to ear. My boy told me they would have been very disappointed if a client ever came back to bed alone. We spent three days and nights together, even went to his house and met his mother, whom he was undoubtedly supporting. All so terribly civilized. 

Bangkok is still a great place to hire. Taiwan less so, perhaps because gays are so open and accepted there you don't have to pay.

I went to Bangkok in 2016, didn't hire anyone, at that time that wasn't my thing, but I saw the many opportunities. Great to know about this.

I read most of this thread and the discussion is quite interesting, but sadly mostly historical. I only know of a place I went recently in Barcelona, Sauna Thermas, that is the facilities of a bathhouse, but with men for hire.

Bangkok to me, is the most civilized destination for a combination experience of spa + massage + sex.

I stayed at a spa some years ago with luxurious hotel rooms where you could pick out the boys of your choice and bring them to your room for a wide variety of services. 😉

Every large city in Brasil has something equivalent to Sauna Thermas. Rio has 3 of them. It’s heaven at a very low price.

If you are in Europe then Zurich’s Paragonia wellness club is where you can always find several guys available every day.

they seem to exist - whether or not they all welcome foreigners is another question entirely.  
trying to connect with any paid provider services in Japan was a waste of time, imo.  between the very busy schedules days in advance, lack of returned inquires & language barrier - I just gave up after a couple days considering it felt like it would be underwhelming anyway.  very strange - never had that difficulty anywhere else in the world.  

I loved Japan, but would never consider it a destination if seeking provider services on vacation. Way too much work.

Adan is long gone & it was a dump -  but had the basics.  I hear there are occasionally providers at some of the other Madrid saunas that cater to more mature crowd, but it’s not the business model and more like they are tolerated at certain times.  It would be hit & miss if you happen to be there when some discreet men are working - no schedule & impossible to predict.

Thermas BCN is still the sauna by which I compare all the others.  I think it’s way better than the Rio & SP saunas - the men are reliable & something for everyone, no overcharging by the house & it’s totally safe and in a safe neighborhood .  They do a decent job of keeping it clean.  Almost open 24/7 and there are typically 1-2 guys there even at off hours.  The attendant at front desk will give you an idea of how many guys are inside if any doubts - before you pay & enter.

I loved Japan, but would never consider it a destination if seeking provider services on vacation. Way too much work.

I don’t speak Japanese and I just turned up at their location (i went to the one called king of college)  in the evening and chose one of the boys among the 15 available on that day. Very easy and very enjoyable. No communication issue. Prices for overnight are really affordable, compared to the US.

 YMMV - as in all things.  I just think it’s important to provide somewhat accurate expectations to those seeking provider services.  And Japan, in general is complicated & not an easy setup like cities NYC, London, São Paulo or Madrid as comparable.

Just be prepared to work for it.  You might get lucky - but the odds are not in your favor. 
Otherwise, Tokyo would be a major draw for those seeking providers services - which it is not.

It wasn’t a one-off. I went back to king of college 3 times after that and always had the easy experience. 
Just walk in, don’t try to arrange on the phone. Explaining in person who you want and for how long is very easy, there is no confusion possible, and you can literally talk to the guy before paying or before anything happens, the managers are only involved in making sure the money is paid.

There are 2 gay brothels in Tokyo, and these are actually brothels: you pay the manager, not the guy (this is also fully legal).

I just happen to have read about the saunas in Brazil at ilikepinga.com.  The moderator did a superb job in describing the saunas as they exist in the cities of Brazil.  I've been to the ones in Rio and São Paulo and Curitiba.  ...adapted and liked very much and yearn to return.
