I met one guy a few years ago and through google search I found his real name on social media platforms. Should I tell him the next time I meet him? Will it have negative impact? I truly don’t know.

First of all how long have you met him and how often do you see him? Are you his regular client?

I would assume any guy I hire regularly would tell me his own name but maybe that's just me. In some cases for Venmo/PayPal* payments and specially for trips he must tell you us his real name.

*Some guys use an alias without their real name for that but I haven't met anybody yet.

Two of my regulars have told me their names and in both cases I was flattered that they did so. I wouldn’t tell an escort that I discovered his real name through research. It makes me sound creepy (although I’ve researched before ?). I have asked for one name in situations where an escort has many. I don’t want to be faced with, “Oh God, give it to me Luciano? Arthur? BigdickXXL?” ?

My main source of providers is Brazil. I had myself only signed up to Facebook and Instagram a few years ago. I was surprised when I realized the link between their (and I assume my own) Whatsapp number and the “people you may know, discover people, etc” aspects of social media.

Over time, more and more of them seem to be ‘privatizing’ their accounts, omitting their number (like I do) from their account registration, or I suspect if they have a high yield business they may use an exclusive number for clients.

I myself have omitted my mobile number ... I only have the one ... and I get annoying reminders to enter that data.

At first, I found it awkward to use their pseudonym in conversation with them if I knew it was manufactured, or sometimes I thought their real name suited them better (LOL, I want to be a bossy nom de plume consultant). I have written off many an ad based on a lame name, that is, a first and/or surname that can theoretically exist in the real world.

Parenthetically, It bugged me a little when a provider up here in North America, likely due to his own shortsightedness, for many years used the wrong Romance language spelling version of a name that he intended to pair with the particular Mediterranean country that he identified as his roots. I teased him by using a dramatic accent associated with the country from which he devised the spelling he chose but that was not his background. He did not speak any Med language. Ironically, his true given name in my view did not suit his actual ethnic background.

You know what I mean about saying a name ... it is personable to use someone’s name when conversing with them. But then I noticed with the Brasileiro fellows that I only got called “baby”, “bb”, etc in conversation or text, so I started doing the same. Mind you, they have to deal with countless of the generic “baby” punters, and an error for them may be costlier, while I tend to be selectively obsessed and cannot for the life of me forget any of their particulars!

Doesn’t facebook do this with people you may know? Sometimes they use the same phone number you have in your address book and identify the individual that way. I don’t think it‘s snooping, but I don’t think it‘s right either to call them by their civilian name unless they tell you to do so.

or if he's open to having multiple names, im sure he wouldn't mind being called another..."Oh God, give it to me BigDaddy!"

I’ve never asked for their real names but have found out some when they wanted e transfers for travel expenses and in one case a deposit. I have always respected their wishes as to which name to call them when we are together.

I only found out one real name of a provider I saw a few times several years ago and that was when someone here posted a site which gives bio info on hundreds of porn actors, some who also escort. I have since tried to reach him on RM but his listing is suspended but I used the name I called him and which is his screen name on Cockyboys.

One escort had a RM name Tom but the first time he came to see me at my house, after about half an hour he gave me his real name, since he was talking about his career as a child actor on television. He even showed me a picture of himself when he was 6 and cute as a button. I have used his real name since then.

To admit to someone you were basically internet stalking them is usually socially frowned upon.

I've actually figured out the real names of three people on hook-up sites, but haven't mentioned it to any of them for exactly that reason.

Long ago, there was a porn star who listed his phone # in an ad, and I reverse-directory-ed it and found that he was listed in the phone book with his address. Shortly after that I had some work doing surveys a block away and even though he wasn't actually in the area I was supposed to be covering, I took the opportunity to ring his bell (literally, unfortunately) and ask him the survey questions.

That's interesting. It'll be more interesting if you had hired him before you asked him the survey questions.

Former provider here...i had one client tell me that he had found out my real name by researching. It creeped me out and with a few choice words, I threw him out of the apartment that I had at the time. That was the end of that.

If he wanted you to know his real name, he would tell you voluntarily.
