Only once have I found a providers real name, and that was more by accident, and I never did tell him that I found it. I am more interested in the service they provide and also allowing them to preserve their privacy.

I did once, however, let a provider know that I saw him in a porn video. He was not a porn star, and so, I wasn't looking for him in a video, but found him nonetheless. He seemed a bit embarrassed, but he was better when I told him that I that it was really hot!

Sort of related - I had seen a masseur a few times, but something just didn’t seem right - just a weird vibe. So I researched his phone number and found his real name and the address matched. The vibe then told me to check court records (which is possible in many states) and voila, the dude had quite a criminal history. It was the somewhat recent charge of “bodily assault with intent to harm” that ended my patronage. Oh yeah, a few restraining orders, too.

I've scrolled through the “people you may know” suggestions on Facebook and saw the profile of one provider I've hired and two with whom I've texted to ask their availability but didn't meet. If it’s someone you’ve only contacted or met with once or twice, I’d say don't tell them. If it’s a regular and you have a good relationship with him, I may pull out my phone and show him next time we're together just so he knows he's appearing in these friend suggestions. It also shows him you're not actively searching for him but the info was pushed to you by a mutually used social media platform.

Former provider here...i had one client tell me that he had found out my real name by researching. It creeped me out and with a few choice words, I threw him out of the apartment that I had at the time. That was the end of that.

If he wanted you to know his real name, he would tell you voluntarily.

So I suppose that you wouldn’t mind your clients following your social media accounts if you voluntarily tell them your real name?

A fairly well known provider was already in my city when I hired him for an overnight. I was short $40 to pay him. His response, "send it to me in Texas.". He gave me all his information including name, address and phone number.

I was quite surprised

I think it has a lot to do with how much of a creep you are. I find being normal goes a long way...

One guy I hired by coincidence worked in the same organization I did (at another building) and I knew him instantly from being at a few events together and having several mutual colleagues/friends. Just to make it less awkward I told him right away that I knew him and that I would keep his identity secret even if he didn't want to continue the session and would appreciate the same. We ended up continuing to meet anyway and actually he ended up going to another organization anyway so it didn't matter too much. I never facebook stalked much but we do have several mutual social media friends and I have even seen him comment on the same posts of my friends. But we have kept each other's business secret so it's fine.

In general, I am fine either way if an escort wants to tell me their real name or keep a nom de boom-boom. Several have told me their real names and others have kept it to themselves. In many cases I have done the same. Keep each other's privacy private even if you do know the person's details.

I was disposing condoms and wrappers in the escort’s room when I saw his real name in the boarding pass he had thrown in the trash. I feel so guilty knowing his name, I don’t know if I’ll hire him again. I feel like I violated something.

I wouldn't worry about it since it was accidental. Similar things have happened to me. One escort who I visited his hotel had his computer on the log-in screen with his name showing. It happens. I just pretended I didn't see it.

I would not assume that if I were you. Unless he uses his personal social media accounts to promote his business, he may want to keep his work life separate. Some have work social media accounts under their alias, and personal social media accounts under their real name. If the social media accounts are under his real name, he may not want you following them. These are called boundaries.

It is not difficult to not be creepy or obsessive. Imagine if providers started being nosy and snooping for the real names of clients and their social media accounts and other info. This is called cyber stalking by the way....Providers deserve the same respect and privacy that clients deserve. I don’t mean to sound indelicate but this should be very easy to understand.

I met one guy a few years ago and through google search I found his real name on social media platforms. Should I tell him the next time I meet him? Will it have negative impact? I truly don’t know.

Did you plan to chat about it over the phone, discuss it perhaps immediately after the happy ending, or or just spring it on him while you are paying?

several years ago during a first meet with a popular provider, I asked if he'd been tested lately because he'd done some bareback video work a couple years earlier (and there'd been some chatter around).....despite it being a first meet, he instantly pulled out a recent testing results sheet with his real full name on it and showed it to me......

as discussed upthread, a level of trust is established at some point......I much prefer chatty, kick-back, good-buddy meets and, once a provider realizes I'm a nice guy and not an ax-murderer, I presume they're more comfortable with opening up a bit and I'm grateful that we can hang out and chat using real names......

I've known a guy for several years and have known him by the name he told me and advertises as. I've called the name out in the heat of passion on many occasions. Well with the advancement of technology, I recently paid him via CashApp instead of in cash and there was his real name. Mind you I am talking atleast 5 or more years under his pseudo name and even though I knew in my gut that wasn't his real name, I forgot about that aspect years ago. When his real name came up on the app, I showed him to confirm that I was sending money to the right person. He confirmed and then said, now you know my real name LOL. I still call him by his pseudo name during the heat of the moment cause I like that name better LMAO.

I find all this use of fake names rather silly. I always use my real name. What are the escorts worried about? I'd be curious to hear from an escort who's gotten into trouble because a client knew his real name. And if someone wants me to send him an airplane ticket, I will send him a photo of my driver's license, or passport if it's from abroad, and he will send me his, or it's no go. I guess if I'm just hiring someone once, I don't really care. But if I hire someone 3 times and he still won't tell me his name, I won't hire him a 4th time. We've met 3 times, and you still think I might be some loony dude? And it's so easy to find their real names, I don't consider that stalking. So you like him and have shown interest. It doesn't mean you're going to break into his place in the middle of the night.

It seems that the consensus of this thread is not to bring it up at all. But like others have mentioned, if the provider needs me to book him flights, he'll likely have to share with me his real name and we can go from there.
