I visited to Montreal last week for the first time in 4 years, and I had a great time. I stayed at the Hyatt Place Montreal, formerly the Gouverneur. I thought the renovations made for a huge improvement. It's clean, comfortable, not too expensive (in mid-December, anyway), and the location is as convenient as ever for the strip clubs. I did not plan it this way, but I made it each of the 4 bars twice.
Campus is thriving, as others have noted. There were plenty of dancers circulating with their shirts off (not always the case), and they were all quite attractive (not always the case). They were all good about taking no for an answer (again, not always the case), and I never saw groups of dancers congregating together and ignoring the customers. I did several private dances; the standouts were Zack, Apollo, and Pepe (looks like a lumberjack, huge all over, very generous and interactive).
Stock was a mixed bag for me. I did not have to pay the cover the first time I went (the cashier had wandered off and the security guard eventually just waved me in), and that was good because it was very dead (this was a Wednesday night). There were very few customers, long gaps between stage shows, and most of the dancers did not drop their shorts at all. Most of the dancers kept their shirts on offstage and huddled in groups talking to each other all night, not circulating or talking to customers at all. I tried to flag down a couple of them multiple times, but no luck. Santiago (Cuban, short, great body, really well-endowed) was the only dancer approaching customers, and he did more privates than all the other dancers combined while I was there. There was a tall, slender Black dancer named Piper who did not even take his shirt off during his stage shows, much less his shorts; that seemed odd to me, at a strip club. Stock was much livelier on Friday, but there were still lots of dancers ignoring the customers and talking only to each other; I don't know how they make any money that way.
Taboo was dead on Thursday night. In fact, I was the only customer there when I arrived (which I did not realize because all the dancers were sitting at the bar, fully clothed, so I thought they were customers). One dancer talked to me for the whole time I was there (<30 minutes); I did not want to do a private with him, but I could not think of a way to get him to move on ("I would prefer to sit all by myself staring into space rather than talk to you" seems a little unkind). I left as soon as I could. It was busier on Friday, and there were 2 dancers I would have done privates with; but they were both occupied with other customers the whole time I was there.
Red Diamond (formerly Expose, formerly Luxe, formerly...) was very quiet both times I stopped in. I have always liked this club - in all its many incarnations - more than most forum members. The staff has always been very friendly, the private dance area is really private, and I have had lots of interesting private dances there. Damian (tall, swimmer's build, friendly and low-key) was the only dancer working both nights. He was very approachable and chatty, and I had fun private dances with him twice. Friday was busier than Thursday, and Damian said he expected it to pick up later in the evening (I was there pretty early).
This was my first real vacation trip since before the pandemic, but I hope to get back to Montreal this Spring.

Leaving a voice message when someone can't answer their telephone is an obstacle course?  Sounds like an overaction, especially from someone who relies on a landline and would therefore rely on voice messages when he leaves the house or is occupied.
Every friend group has one of these obnoxious people.  If someone doesn't know any... Then statistically it is probably them 😉

Back to the subject at hand....
Over the course of 15+ years and 100s of masseurs hired, I have had a 99.8% success rate of providers showing, and I never had a verbal conversation before hand.  I do research on these forums and I never pay up front.  Those two tips alone have served me well in having quality experiences when I hire.

Unfortunately it has happened to me several times.  I've had guys no-show who were supposed to come to my place, and typically when someone doesn't show up they just don't bother to respond to texts asking where they are.  One guy had the nerve, however, of replying that he was on his way to visit his family for the holidays and questioning why I would think it was okay to make an appointment right before Christmas.  Uh, because you agreed to said appointment?  Seemed obvious to me that if the guy didn't want to schedule something on December 24th he could have just said so.  The funny/awkward thing is that I frequently saw him at my gym after that.  Hot looking guy but because of his rudeness I always just ignored him.  Another time I traveled to the hotel where some guy said he would be staying because we had an agreed-upon appointment time and he said he would give me his room number after he checked in.  Didn't hear back from him before I traveled to his hotel, didn't hear back from him when I was outside his hotel; in fact, he never responded.
It's bad enough to stand someone up, but one would think that at least a simple acknowledgement/apology would be in order.

I think "the block" has become a cultural norm. Primarily through its common usage on Grindr. It avoids the uncomfortable -which is the explanation of rejection. Although being blocked may feel rude...I question whether you really want the alternative: "Thanks but you're too old". "Thanks but you're too fat". Do you REALLY want to hear WHY you've been rejected ?

Ask yourself why you're asking this question. I sincerely doubt that any trans men on RM are trying to trick cis guys into hiring them. That would be potentially quite dangerous as cis people use transphobia to explain away their violence against trans people.
This reads as a fear-mongering hypothetical to me, which is in particularly poor taste as trans people are facing unprecedented violence and political attacks across the country.

I finally made my second trip to Montreal since 2016 and after the pandemic. I arrived on the 1st of April when Canada no longer require a pre-departure covid test.
Still jetlagged from my 21-hour flight, I unpacked at my AirBnB, I showered and I headed straight to Campus. I paid $2 to check in my coat plus $6 to get in. It was busy with about 30% female in the audience. I counted 8 very sexy dancers on stage, who did two sets of dance. First, when they come out wearing jeans and partially removing them to show either their arses or top of their undies. Second, when they come out with a raging hard on. I had my eyes on a very muscly guy about 6'4 who reminded me of the porn star Ricky Sinz. He didn't seem to be interested in getting any business from men as he was mostly flirting with the female audience. Then the audience gasp when this guy Gabriel did his second set. I said to myself, 'Imma get this guy in the backroom'...but he was snatched by someone else as soon as he got off the stage. Not my lucky night, I thought, so I went to the bar and bought another beer. By the way, I felt that the Mexican-looking bartender didn't like me. I've waved and waved at him but he was deliberately ignoring me. I got his attention eventually and got my second beer. Gave him $20 and told him to keep the change, you silly bitch! I sat on a stool near where the pool table is, not hoping to get a lap dance that night. I intended to finish my drink then call it a night. Then I felt a tap on my back. I turned and it is, Gabriel!. We said our 'how-do-you-dos' and then headed in the back. He did not disappoint. My hands were all over his body while he was dry-kissing me on my neck, forehead and face. I asked if I can suck his dick but he said no because he's straight and then showed me pics of his gf on his phone as proof, I guess.
The following night I went to Stockbar paying $4 entrance + $2 to check in my coat. The guy complimented my scarf so I gave him $2 tip. The club is not as busy as Campus with only 4 dancers and about 20 patrons. I immediately noticed Ronnie when I entered the club. I got my drink and sat down and have observed him going from one patron to another. They all must have said no to him because he would leave and go to the next person. My heart was beating fast when he approached the guy on the table next to me. I was hoping that the guy would say no too so I would be next. The guy did say no but Ronnie skipped me and went to the room where the dancers stay when they're not dancing instead.
Another guy, Adam, approached me, who's friendly and also handsome like Ronnie. But you know that feeling when you had your eyes on someone/something that you're trying to get but could not get? I told Adam that I'm interested but I will get back to him later. He said 'ok, cool' and then he left.
A second guy (Jay) approached me. Nice looking but rude and arrogant. When I gave him the same reply I gave to Adam, he left abruptly. (Later in the evening he would approach me again and when I said no, he rudely told me, 'what else are you doing here?'. I've had my lap dance already and bought 4 beers at $9 each plus tips, so I told him matter-of-factly that I am not interested in him. That must have hurt his feelings but I won't let anyone talk to me like that).
Then I saw Ronnie again fresh from giving someone a good time in the back. I stared at him trying to get his attention but another guy grabbed him and they both disappeared in the back. I decided to play the poker machine while waiting for him. I put in $20 and lost; I put in another $20 and won $200!. I collected it and Adam saw it, and he joked that my winning would pay for 10 songs in the back. I liked his care-free attitude and I think he's really cute so I said okay.
As we were choosing which room to use, I caught a glimpse of Ronnie's jeans on the floor next to his tennis shoes under the closed curtain. I can only imagine what was going on behind it and it made me jealous. Thankfully Adam was very sexy and gave me an excellent session. I didn't give him all my winnings though as I'm saving it for Ronnie next time.
But the next time didn't happen because I left that night when Jay annoyed me. Also the club was closed Mondays and Tuesdays and I left Montreal for New York on Wednesday so I was really saddened that I didn't meet Ronnie. BTW Ronnie on the Stockbar website is different from today. He is hunkier and has a better hair-do.
I was hoping to meet Frank or Ryan in Stockbar but I didn't see any of them. I must have gone the wrong night (Saturday).
The Village and the rest of Montreal look like they're still recovering from the pandemic. I found The Village a bit rough and dirty compared to six years ago. There's a lot of junkies along Ste-Catherine. Most businesses are either closed permanently or partially open. The Underground City is dead. Masks are required on buses and trains and inside the train station. I remember being very excited the first time I visited in 2016 but I didn't have the same feeling this time.
Anyway, the rest of the city may still be trying to get back on its feet but at least the strip clubs are back in full swing to give us joy and happiness we craved after two years!

I can understand your concern for this type of scenario, but like  @RadioRob stated…there’s so much more aspects to the equation.
I can attest I’ve been in that situation (actually still am). My client list in my 2 home markets of KC (home of the unstoppable Kansas City chiefs, but just a tragic City for single gay men and escorts) and Saint Louis have dried up significantly. I’m also in my mid 30s
However, I have a game plan to change the situation. The 1st thing to do in that type of situation, is relocate or travel. Sometimes a base can dry up not just due to the escort, but changes within the city market itself. In my case, traveling isn’t enough. A full on relocation is going to be the ONLY way to alleviate the circumstances.
Also 30 isn’t a “declining” age by any means. Unless a person isn’t working on themselves/exercising or doing drugs. I’m actually in better shape now than I was in my 20s. I struggled to gain ”mass” in my 20s, and now I’m at 215 pounds. I’m also a bit older and wiser, even though my tolerance level probably isn’t where it used to be. I don’t like to schedule things without deposits and I’m more quicker to burn bridges with problem clients than I used to. But that’s just a by product of dealing with the same shitty type of clients over and over, and the stress of being in a shitty market: which like I said, it’s URGENT that I fix this.

There’s no reason to “fade into the sunset”. There’s so many things out there to do revolving around sex work, you don’t have to JUST be an escort. I recently did a nude calendar and majority of the guys were 30-40+. It opened doors to 2 subsequent events where I was able to get more exposure.

So basically, there’s nothing to worry about. You can retire at 25 or 55. It’s all a matter of personal drive and decision making.
