It feels like gossip to do that. That's how I feel when people message me about my take on other providers. Just my view.

Hello all,
First off, apologize for this rant, so bear with me please.
When I am thinking about seeing a new masseur, my first place to check around is here to get more info.  However, if there is no posts here, I will reach out to those who posted reviews.  I have found that some reviews are not totally accurate or missing details, so I reach out to the person on RM with a very friendly message.
All I'm trying to do is find out more to see if it's a good match. After all the new "normal" price seems to be $200+   I don't want to waste their time or mine if it's not a good fit (nor my money).  Also we all know here there are some masseurs whose pic is lets say not very accurate
I just got one back that said: "I'm always surprised when people reach out to other people on RM for information. My suggestion is reach out to him and ask him your questions".
I do reach out to the masseur for questions.  I find I often get vague responses to my questions
I also had a masseur reach out to me blasting me for asking questions about him followed by blocking me
I do not understand why doing your homework is a bad thing???    Let's help each other out here !!!!!

To be honest, I tend to pay more attention to selfies than to professional photos. In my experience, they’re usually closer to what someone actually looks like and are often more up to date than polished shots. That said, I don’t see anything wrong with having both types of photos in a profile.

This has definitely been my experience. I've been in this hobby for nearly 11 years now... My overwhelming experience has been that providers don't seem to remember or know what they themselves put on their profile. I once was texting a provider to book him as for sex that included anal (he listed himself versatile for anal on his professional profile), in reply he told me he doesn't offer anal sex of any kind as part of his services. If I hadn't (double) checked and booked on the assumption his profile information was correct, it would have been quite a disappointing session. This has happened a number of times.
So the reason I ask things that are already on a provider's profile is because I've had enough experiences where there was either conflicting info or what is mentioned in the profile ended up not being accurate after talking to the provider or being in the room with him.

I’ve never blocked anyone on any platform. It just feels kind of dramatic when I have the option to not engage. If I see someone has viewed my profile dozens of times I may think “that’s a bit obsessive”, but it doesn’t bother me. That said, I have a much higher threshold for tolerating bullshit than the average person. As far as Client A talking to Client B… good! I know the type of experience I provide consistently, and I want people talking—tell everybody!

The provider made a decision to block you, I'd respect that decision. Move on and hire someone else.

There is such a thing as professional jealousy.  In my professional career, when a client of mine decided to hire a different professional for work that I thought I could do just as well, I got pissed off.  Even if I admitted to myself that his new hire was better suited to that particular assignment, I still got pissed off.  His decision affected my feelings toward the client and, at least as far as I was concerned, permanently altered the relationship.  

Oh, puh-leeze. “Highly religious”? That means nothing. For context, I am 61 years old. I’ve lost count of the number of men who put on a clean shirt and go pray to their God on Sunday morning, who later divest themselves of their tighty-whiteys and are crying, “Oh, God! OH, GOD!” in my bed Sunday afternoons and evenings. Continuing … my parents used to boast of my involvement with the youth ministry at their Church. Little did they know I was taking it up the ass from the youth minister in the boys bathroom at fellowship hall after Sunday services. I suppose one could say that I was “highly religious”, too. (Before anyone gets their Calvins in a wad, I was 17 and he was 19.) Dude still looks good (me less so), and  his parents live in the same retirement community as my parents. So I see him and his wife from time to time. And sometimes I see him in the men’s room for old time’s sake. 
I’m not trying to divert or derail the subject (Ty Simpson). “Highly religious” Southern men are a whole helluva lotta fun when they crack that closet door open. Not to be tacky but I’ve taken enough Southern seed to know. 

My friend and I have talked about gay athletes before, as a topic of general interest. But he's not "interested" in the way that I might be.

Stopped by on a random Tuesday for their towel  night.  Not a bad crowd for a Tuesday.  Something for everyone. Bartenders good eye candy as well.  All goes in cycles.  Hoping the dancer lineup for the weekend is a bit more polished and less trade.  However like I said, something for everyone.

There has been some useful and thoughtful commentary in this thread, but as others have alluded to, not all of it is encouraging. People will always see a variety of things in what's presented when asked about an uncomfortable experience. Almost everyone here has been there, reflected on what went well and what did not, and drawn conclusions of their own and the other party's actions. Some of those conclusions can be uncomfortable or even challenging.
When anyone poses the question here, not everyone will see it the same way, but when someone offers a raw or pained description of how they felt I think we owe them understanding and a serious explanation of how that experience could be seen, maybe differently than they did, for better or worse, not simply an endorsement of  the questioner's opinions about it. We certainly don't need to denigrate anyone's opinion of how their session went down, even if we see it in ways they might not agree with. And definitely not to offer them a gratuitous character assessment over what they asked.

I’m really sorry you had such a difficult experience. No one should walk away from an encounter feeling unsafe or unsettled.
At the same time, threads like this often reveal that both sides made decisions under stress or uncertainty. That doesn’t minimize what happened to you — it just means that now, with some space and hindsight, you can take steps that give you more control and peace of mind going forward.
Here are a few thoughts that might help next time:
- Since anxiety is part of this for you, you may want to choose the location — whether it’s your home or a hotel where you feel comfortable and there aren’t distractions.
- You’re buying time, not a guaranteed emotional outcome. When nerves kick in, sticking to what was agreed upon can help keep everything grounded.
- For the next few encounters, consider seeing only well-reviewed, established providers until you feel steadier. It can make a huge difference in easing the anxiety you described.
What happened to you clearly shook you. I hope your next experiences are much smoother and actually enjoyable — they absolutely can be with the right structure around them.

No I don’t agree. Some guys are really anxious to go to a bath house (sauna) alone. They want someone to go with who will show them how to behave there and who they can walk around with to get comfortable.
If you’re exploring your sexuality or if you’re not conventionally good looking (or you think you aren’t attractive) then bath houses can be intimidating. It’s therefore helpful to have someone who will accompany you and spend time with you there to build your confidence. I’ve arranged quite a lot of sessions at bath houses with my clients. It’s sometimes to take someone who’s never been, sometimes it’s to help guys who want to have sex in public but who want to do it with someone they are attracted to, sometimes it’s to pretend I’m their boyfriend. 
I think in @ThrowawayAccount’s situation he didn’t get a very empathetic provider. He was clearly too anxious and it seems like there wasn’t much communication between the two of them about expectations. Someone with more patience and understanding would probably have behaved differently to him. It’s a lesson for guys hiring: choose carefully. I’ve had a few clients who seem to be far too anxious to relax despite me trying to help. I think some of these guys are still trying to work out things and they have misguided ideas about sex. They don’t need an encounter with a sex worker at that point, they need a counsellor or someone to help them get over the issues they have about their sexuality.

Wanted to provide an update as I just had a session with Finn.  Would tend to agree with @newatthis comment, but I guess YMMV.  We had messaged back and forth on expectations, but unfortunately he did not deliver.  He was great in communication and scheduling, but I showed up on time, and we had a late start and early ending.  Really nice guy, and was very connected with the session, but for the price based on what he offers, I would probably recommend going to someone else.  Again, YMMV, and he was a great guy, just not really the massage session I was expecting.
