At least locally (Chicago), there's been an influx of new providers during the last 2 months or so. Even better, not all of them are flakes. So there won't be any shortage for awhile.

I was asking for providers' perspective. And yours was useful.

How are Texas guys handling the latest draconian law?
+ DrownedBoy replied to TallMuscl37's topic in Questions About Hiring
This. Certain politicians think they can bash gays to victory, like they did back in the 1990s. Texas and Florida are the worst offenders, here, in the entire republic. -
@Jamie21 yes, he ended up doing something embarrassing when he got to my place. He was still embarrassed about it at the end of the session, even as I kept reassuring him and promising I would hire him again. The price issue is something I need to talk with him about. At our first meeting, I just rounded up the bills so he was near a newbie's price, but I need to talk with him since everyone's not that honest. The least I can give him is the usual rates I've paid for newbies and regular (for me, that's 250-300 for 1 hours, and 400-500 for 2 hours; he'd be at the low end). If you take gross advantage of a newbie and he later finds out the regular market rates, they will hold a grudge. Nonetheless, remember that these are newbies and aren't at porn-star-status yet. And once again - having a Premium membership is very useful. For the new providers I met, the move from 0 to 1 reviews was the hardest, then quickly became easier.

Kindness can never be overrated - who is the kindest?
+ DrownedBoy replied to CuriousByNature's topic in The Lounge
Beware of asking this question. I had a regular that I considered one of the "kindest" people I knew. Then he started on drugs. Remember - it's all an act. Both providers and client are just acting. -
We should really start a "ghost alert" thread for escorts who do this. There's nothing wrong with hiring a new guy - everyone starts somewhere - but new guys who don't learn the rules need to be filtered out quickly. Example: I just set up something with new talent. At the time he was supposed to call, there was no response, so I told him I'd have to cancel within 15 minutes, which I ended up doing. He finally got back an hour later, at which point I informed him I had already hired his replacement and he needed to be more professional. One thing I noticed - Latinos tend to be the worst offenders when it comes to being late. I know Mexico has a far more laid-back approach to punctuality than the U.S., but when in Rome....

You missed the first warning sign: His RM ad has only 1 photo, he's been on RM for less than a month, and he has no reviews. Inexperienced RM flake a lot. It's just a crapshoot with them. Some are completely and utterly clueless.

Do you discuss hiring guys with friends?
+ DrownedBoy replied to muslnicknj's topic in Questions About Hiring
I've been starting to keep a detailed journal of my sessions(at least a page single-spaced per meeting). If I wasn't worried about being arrested or letting my identity become widely known, I'd start a blog 😄 -
Why Do Some Providers Avoid RM Messages?
+ DrownedBoy replied to Philly50's topic in Questions About Hiring
I've also started using RM messenger to set up the basics with escorts. However, if an escort doesn't respond to my RM messages, I don't filter them out, especially as many escorts make clear in their ad that they need a text. -
How are Texas guys handling the latest draconian law?
+ DrownedBoy replied to TallMuscl37's topic in Questions About Hiring
How long ago? And yes - technically Texas has no "Nordic model" cities like most other large U.S. cities. This means the provider can be arrested, not just the client. A few months ago, a sting arrested one of their own (straight) detectives. Sexual hypocrisy and stupid cops don't mix. -

Dude, Texas has been on my refuse-to-travel-to list since June of last year, when the Republicans (who control the whole state) added this to their official political platform: "Homosexuality is an abnormal lifestyle choice" Too bad there's a friend there I can't visit anymore; last saw him last May. -
As a client, I need to ask: If you end up hiring a provider who never had any experiences before, how should you proceed?
-
I was wondering if anyone had any experience or advice here. I've been having trouble getting "turned on." This isn't the same as getting an erection - I still do that, and my doctor ruled that out. He did suggest, though, therapy. I'm at a point where Viagra can give me a massive hard-on, but I don't feel any desire at all. Has anyone had experience with "sex therapy?"

Burial, Cremation, or Compost? Which will it be for you?
+ DrownedBoy replied to + pitman's topic in The Lounge
Cremation followed by burial of ashes next to my ancestors. My family has funeral plots, where it's traditional to be buried next to others in the family. Since I'll be dead and won't care either way, I made my mother happy by agreeing to that and making the necessary arrangements. I think it's just creepy as hell to be embalmed, then have people standing over your waxed-over body (especially when it doesn't look like them). Luckily, my parents' generation already made that switch (and lots more family members can fit now 😄 ). (Originally I wanted to just donate my body to science. It's a pain to do that and get into a specific burial plot, even when it's an option) -
Providers that aren't into kissing nor giving oral
+ DrownedBoy replied to MeatHead's topic in Questions About Hiring
And here I learned that on my own when I was like 13 😁 -
Nope. Let's put it this way. I once asked a RM in my area to unlock his private photos. It's common to be ignored, but he outright answered "no." Instant block.
-
It depends. It was twice a month before the pandemic. If I have a bf I obviously hire less, but still sneak a visit in when possible. I'm slowing down due to a combination of health problems and a bit of boredom. New providers are asking for too-high fees, so I'm kind of waiting for the recession to make the newbies a little more hungry.

Nope. I don't receive oral - I only perform it - but without kissing the whole session would be a waste to me. -
Providers who are not into "kissing"
+ DrownedBoy replied to Marc in Calif's topic in Questions About Hiring
Oral (and bodily) hygiene is essential for kissing. Personally, I make sure I've flossed after my last meal (but several hours before the session), then brush my teeth beforehand, then always leave mouthwash sitting around to refresh during the session. I always supply my guest with a complementary bottle of mouthwash to be careful. An ex once kissed me right after a meal without brushing his teeth, and my reaction wasn't very good 🤢 -
Yup. The last time random escorts started contacting me (with discounts) was when everyone got desperate at the start of the pandemic. I expect we'll see the same during this year's recession.

Too expensive in Chicago, but forgot his price tag.

Do you discuss hiring guys with friends?
+ DrownedBoy replied to muslnicknj's topic in Questions About Hiring
Pretty much. You should only discuss hiring with friends who also hire (as I and several others here do). All the reasons here come into play. America's rather hypocritical attitudes towards sex work fuel people's jealousy. And with whole "woke" corporate attitudes nowadays, if your hiring becomes public, you'll probably be fired for PR reasons.... even as one of my former CEOs (married with kids) hires Latino boys whenever he can. -

+ DrownedBoy replied to muslnicknj's topic in Questions About Hiring
T I only have one friend I ever discussed it with. He's straight and hired women a lot in the past (and slept around in general, even while engaged), so it was pretty easy to talk about. The hardest part was that every so often, one of us would give the other TMI. However, he's since been married and had a kid, and he's been rather clear that talking about such things now would probably end our friendship. I can't blame him. So I appreciate this site and encourage others to join, as it's currently the only place I can talk about this hobby. -
@Kevin Slater are the amounts in this chart adjusted for inflation?
