Since (in the U.S.) the escort market isn't policed, we have to police ourselves. If a provider does something that would warrant a bad review on Yelp, they warrant a bad review here and RM. It's just business.

That's never changed. When I came out of the closet at 19, my first boyfriend called getting fat the "gay sin." Once, after made an appointment with a provider, I went on RM to read his interview questions. He shot me an angry RM message asking me if I was going to book him or not (he didn't know my RM name). I should have cancelled there and then, but didn't. I had to wait until he came, took my money, and walked out 15 minutes later.

Good idea - sounds like the hallway-to-door dialog I hear regularly from couples in my condo building who get into arguments.

I've seen a rise and fall where I live (Chicago/Midwest) between 2019 and now. The baseline then was 300 standard, a little less for newbies. After and during the late pandemic period, escorts were asking a lot. Established ones tried for 350 and 400, and even newbies with no reviews wanted 300 (and sometimes more!). Since late 2022, the standard seems to have returned to 300, with new escorts charging less. I found a really good new regular that way. I can only speak from observation and casual conversation (which is no doubt guarded for financial reasons), but it appears - in my area at least - a lot fewer people are hiring, but a lot more escorts are on RM. And many escorts - even established ones - have become a _lot_ more grateful to find regular clients to provide steady income. In my social circle (mainly Chicagoland technical and financial professionals), the current economy has meant layoffs (several friends from different companies just lost 10% of their coworkers), wage and hiring freezes, reduced benefits, and longer hours, not to mention indefinite delays for many projects and planned improvements. I've been hit by all those things, and it hasn't been fun. Clients have less money and financial stability right now. You don't need a PhD in economics to understand what that means.

No, but thanks for pointing LustNoir out to me.

I did something similar when the escort acted weird and demanded money to leave (was on drugs). Instead of running away, the moron ran into the hotel lobby and made a scene and started telling random people he was an escort. Security kicked him out and told him not to return. I stayed and had a nice meal at their restaurant. Moral: when an escort acts like a criminal, he will be treated as one, and it's very unlikely anything will come of it for the client.

And for obvious reasons the under-40 clients disappear eventually (I used to be one).

And that's when you should have dropped him.

I wouldn't.... although I'd let Justin Timberlake fuck me...

I can second this. Bobby's as muscular as he is kind. And he has no problem with kissing.

The RM market doesn't care if your rents are skyrocketing. It only cares about what clients are willing to pay. We need constant reminders that this is an economic situation, not a moral one.

If you can't find Loboa, I'll let you "instruct" me

Yes. There's been a sharp uptick in new providers in my area. At the same time, fewer and fewer guys are asking for more than 300 (or 350 if they're in high demand). (even better - some of the new providers are actually professional enough to work with!) This economy defies general understanding. Some economists say that it looks like we'll get out of this without a recession. But what I see in reality (including my workspace) shows the exact opposite.

I just hired Axhel last night. Didn't know he was travelling with a friend. Oh well.

What others said. Success breeds attitude. What others might jump at, another doesn't pay much attention to.

Why do escorts not list their health status?
+ DrownedBoy replied to justanoldguy's topic in The Deli
Why don't we give an answer to this thread: "You can't trust anybody - including escorts and providers - on their health status. Always be safe." -
Why do escorts not list their health status?
+ DrownedBoy replied to justanoldguy's topic in The Deli
Undetectable people often leave their HIV status blank. Technically, they are negative, but if they forget to take their pills, they could spread again. -
Sounds right. The problem is when the overpriced NYC escorts come to places like Chicago and expect the same reception.

MOST AFFECTIONATE MUSCLE/BODYBUILDERS IN NYC
+ DrownedBoy replied to Whatsupandstuff's topic in The Deli
I found this guy to be very nice and affectionate. He lists as "bisexual," but he definitely leans towards our team. BobbyBiceps - Gay Escort - New York City | Rent.Men -
These SA stories are great to read, but I wouldn't want to experience them. To be fair, though, you do see some same problems among younger RM as you do with SA (being late, having personality problems). SA is just 100x worse.

Ditto to many others. The MB ads are usually pretty old. Since it's free, you get a lot of fakes. MB lacks the data an RM ad contains about what providers are willing to do. Likewise, there's no way for a provider to list themselves as "available." Since the ads are so old, it's a crap shoot if they even still exist. I've hired guys who were on MB, but only because they were already on RM or Friendboys.

Why Do Some Providers Avoid RM Messages?
+ DrownedBoy replied to Philly50's topic in Questions About Hiring
The frequency with which visiting and new providers have just ghosted or ignored me, even if they're marked as "Available" on RM and I make sure to text them my profile, is appalling. Some escorts have enough customers or sessions to not need new ones. That's fine...as long as you don't act otherwise. -
How to find a regular provider in LA
+ DrownedBoy replied to ArbyLA's topic in Questions About Hiring
I have 2-3 providers at any one time. I prefer local ones who have good availability. I try to keep it simple: I look for providers who act professionally. This means they're honest, generally on time (and letting me know if they can't be), and are able to satisfy one or more of my physical needs without adding an emotional component. I am likewise honest and punctual for them. We have a honest but respectful mutual understanding that this is a regular business relationship, and treat it as such. I don't tip very often, but they can expect extra monetary gifts at the holidays. Likewise, providers usually have a plan to "retire" after a few years, and I make sure I respect both their current work and future plans. I treat such providers as "guests" when they visit, granting them a lot of social prerogatives when we're together. I act like a good host, and they don't abuse the status (not all escorts are that scrupulous). I make sure to see a regular, at the very least, once every 2 months. I'm afraid many escorts are very unprofessional, especially younger ones, and demonstrate entitlement, rudeness, and carelessness. When a regular has done this to me, I've dropped them on the spot. -
Another bucket list item of mine - Bangkok, the city with the most accurate double entendre name.

I thought the same. That and the Rembrandt museum are on my bucket list.
