In addition to being a smart marketing move by providers, I think daddies are having a bit of a moment. I’m in my early 50s and get far more attention from guys in their 20s than I did when I was in my 20s.

I just got back from my trip and checked out the hotel and sauna for a night. The hotel had a huge number of straight people at the rooftop bar, including couples with strollers and small children. Not the vibe I was expecting. I’m curious to know if they realized there were 100 guys a few floors beneath them fucking each other bareback in the sauna.
The hotel itself is a pretty basic, three star European hotel. Serviceable and in a great location, but not someplace I want to stay on an extended trip.
The sauna is enormous. I think it has around 500 lockers. I was there on a Friday night during Oktoberfest, and while there were a lot of guys, it didn’t feel especially crowded. It’s so vast that if I had gone at a less busy time, it might’ve been hard to find people. The crowd was pretty mixed from 20 somethings up to 60 somethings. I’d say the average age was around 40. There was a lot of action in the private cabins and in the dark room areas, but not a lot of people playing in the light. I have a husband so I was mainly just looking to watch. I saw a few guys getting fucked over the five hours that I was there, but not as many as I was expecting.
I’ve tried the food in the bistro and it was pretty decent. Much better than a typical sauna.
As I was not hooking up, I decided to get a massage. The providers are not particularly attractive. My guy was a definite bear with a dad bod, and the only European working at that time. His technique was only so-so and he didn’t go anywhere near my dick or offer any extras. This made sense as there was so much sex going on on the other side of the door that offering it for a fee would’ve been superfluous. The massage room was scrupulously clean, however.
I travel a lot and enjoy checking out bath houses in different cities. It’s not bad for an evening if you’re already in Munich, but it’s not someplace I choose to go back to in its own right.

I spent a week in Manila and driving around Luzon for work. I stayed in Bonifacio Global City (also known as BGC), which is a new and organized part of the city. It feels more like Singapore than Manila. The rest of the city is a sprawling and chaotic mess with horrendous traffic. It can take an hour just to go a few miles. I agree the the other that Grab is cheap and efficient if you need to get around
The high-end providers on RM are all around 10,000 pesos ($175) for full service. They are very responsive and I met with a couple that were quite good. The legit massage provider that came to my hotel was 3,000 pesos ($50) and double if you want him to be naked with mutual touching.
There are second-tier Grindr providers in Manila that offer full service for 3,000 to 5,000 pesos, but not as hot or professional as the RM boys. In the provinces you can get an amateur massage for as little as 700 pesos ($13). You get what you pay for, but there are not a lot of options once you get outside on Manila.
I didn’t go to the massage parlors or the bathhouses, partly because of the traffic and it was so easy to order in.
I didn’t enjoy the country all that much and I’d be unlikely to go back for a vacation. The guys a very sweet and eager to please. It’s a personal preference, but I didn’t find them as attractive as the guys in other parts of Asia. PM me if you want more info.

I think there’s a risk in mentioning that you hire to someone you meet on a “dating” site, especially if you don’t know his views on monogamy. Many guys might assume that someone accustomed to hiring would be likely to continue doing so in the future. Some guys might find this exciting and an activity you could do together, but others might be turned off.

My first visit to the then-Soviet Union was during Perestroika, when the country was beginning to open up. I was on a month-long cultural exchange, and the first quick stop was one night in Moscow. I was bunking with a gay (platonic) friend from the U.S., and during our training had met several other gay guys in the group. Having grown up during the Cold War, I/we imagined all kinds of terrible things about the country, including a dangerous homophobia. (Even my mother had warned me about picking up tricks there!) Imagine our surprise when we arrived at Sheremetyevo Airport and up walks our tour manager Dimitri, who was blasting out gay vibes in all directions. Could this really be? (Indeed he was a screaming queen, and later followed me back to the States, but that is another story). We got signed into our hotel, giving up our passports, and several of us went to check out the Bolshoi Ballet. We were in luck...Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake was playing that night and there were tickets available. We got seats in one of the mid-level balconies, where the whole stage was in full view, if a bit far away. It was magnificent. During the intermission, we wandered to the lobby and were amazed to find not only a bar serving champagne and other alcoholic delights, but an elaborate dessert buffet laid out...and...all free (or I should say, included in the admission ticket price). I imbibed a couple of coupes of champagne and a sampling of beautiful petits fours. Before heading back to my seat, I thought it prudent to stop in the Gent's, and what a surprise awaited! There were all kinds of fun and games going on at the urinals. As a new face in town/American, a bevy of young gentlemen descended on me. I couldn't believe it, but even visions of my exile to Siberia didn't stop me from grabbing a luscious uncut cock in each hand as another guy went down on me. It was either so crowded in there, or straights were just obliviously going about their business, or this particular mens' room was the designated orgy zone, but no one batted an eye. Eventually two guys, a gay couple, invited be back to their dacha for the night. This was too much for even me...would I be murdered in bed, or arrested by the KGB, sent to Siberia, or kidnapped and never make it back to my hotel in time for the next day's flight to the provinces? In one of the few times I ever exhibited such good judgement, I declined, despite continuing advances. If it hadn't been during my first few hours in the country, I would have gone for it...the USSR turned out to be filled with gay guys ignoring their government just as much as we ignore ours when it comes to dick. But alas, it took a few days of getting the lay of the land, and confiding with Dimitri, to be my usual slut, there in the land of the hammer and sickle.

On the other hand, dogs are a great icebreaker, especially among gay men. Hookup culture is so pervasive in the gay community that many guys feel nervous about striking up a casual conversation with other gay guys. Having a dog is a way a connecting with other people.

I’ve read that men bond through activities while women bond through talking. That certainly aligns with my experience. It’s hard for guys to keep up friendships just by talking on the phone. As the other guys have suggested, it’s best to join in person groups.

You can also make Chicken au Poivre by substituting chicken for steak, and there are recipes for it, but it doesn’t really work because the flavor profile is out of balance. I suspect Chicken Stroganoff is the same.

I’ve made all of these except for Chicken Stroganoff, which I’m not sure is a thing. I made Coronation Chicken as an experiment around King Charles’s coronation. It’s actually quite good, although I did it as whole breasts and not a salad.

Andy is amazing and highly recommended. I had a sore back and needed a therapeutic massage. The receptionist showed me to the room so I was already on the table when he entered and he didn’t ask me about my problem areas. Nonetheless he found them all and used very firm pressure. I was grunting and moaning so that much anyone in the next room would have had the wrong idea as to what was going on. It wasn’t relaxing, but I felt 100 times better afterwards.

I prefer legit massages from attractive (but not drop dead gorgeous) gay men with good technique and training. I usually look for these guys on gay sites. I don’t care about happy endings as can take care of that myself if necessary. However, the best massages feel like an embrace from a friend. It’s useful to have a gay therapist (and to out myself to him) so he can dispense with the draping and not feel he has to avoid passing contact with sensitive areas that might make a straight man uncomfortable. Also, I’ve had some of these experiences turn into mutual and uncompensated hookups, which are far better than anything that could be arranged through an erotic provider.
