It is sad, and feels so odd.  It consumed so many of us for so long, and now it's portrayed as historic.

One scene before the ending involves David telling his lover Sean to "let go." I've always thought that to be a hard thing to do while being very loving. You've been with this guy for years, and now the only right thing to is let him go. Hard for both parties. A very moving scene.

The sad scenario today is that the generations after the AIDS epidemic have shunted it into the deep recesses of gay history.

Neil Diamond has Parkinson’s and can no longer tour. I didn’t know this till after I saw the show and read it in the Playbill.  During the show I was wondering why the actor playing “old” Neil, Mark Jacoby,  kept shaking his fingers as if he were nervous.
If you like Neil’s music you’re going to love this show. Has anyone else seen it? I’d appreciate hearing from you.
Some 30 years ago I saw Neil in concert at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island. It was a remarkable show! The actor playing young Neil, Nick Fradiani, is amazing! The show deals with Neil’s life, the ups & downs, something you can’t get just listening to his music.

I have received multiple DM's asking information like this from people I have never interacted with. They don't bother to introduce themselves and usually greet me, if they even do, as Hey There.

I watched this tonight on YouTube. The quality of the video was bad, but the feelings of the AIDS epidemic were real. I lived through it. Oddly, I wasn't as moved tonight as I was when I first saw the movie.

Critics loved that movie but disparaged the final scene. I say, that scene was the catharsis that we survivors needed, and I don’t give a fk if it was manipulative. I found it profound and heart breaking.

I thought the movie was pretty bad. I had to watch it twice to be sure. It's a rip-off version of Talented Mr. Ripley, and Ripley is a masterpiece of gay sociopath/psychopath by comparison. There are so many things wrong with Saltburn, it's hard to know where to begin. Someone said it's trying too hard, and that is an understatement. All show and no substance. I hated that Keoghan and Elordi barely had an on-screen relationship. They are hardly seen together. Any obsession made no sense. The house exterior is the star, and it seems that's all that is required post-Downton. Rosamond Pike and Richard Grant were fun. So is a surprising Carey Mulligan. The sex scenes with Alison Oliver grossed me out. Archie was a fun gay to hate. But the story? Preposterous. Not sure if this has been mentioned, but Emerald Fennell, director of Saltburn, played Camilla Parker Bowles in Season 3 and 4 of The Crown. IMO, she should stick to acting. I did enjoy the ending nude scene. Who hasn't danced naked in his home? Not sure what to say about Barry's uncut cock. Sort of looks like his face at times. When I was younger, I had a problem with too much extended foreskin. Now, I guess, it just depends on the scent. 😄

I really liked the film. Yes, very much like Ridley but I loved how it all unfolded with some very disturbing scenes that really pushed the boundaries of what is in movies today. Great soundtrack. Been listening to the playlist on Spotify all weekend!

My thought was that Oliver is a sociopath. He deliberately befriends the handsome boy, scion of a rich family, because he is dazzled by wealth. He loves and wants to be that handsome rich boy.
Thats why I compared it to the Ripley movie. He’s another charming sociopath. Patricia Highsmith’s novels that feature Ripley are splendid and I recommend them.
