Nothing you can do.   Count your blessings, pay your taxes and enjoy life.

I’ve been subject to IRMAA (income related monthly adjustment amount) for several years now.  No big deal.  There are many people who would love to be in our shoes.

If you’d been smart you should have been doing incremental Roth conversions annually to lower your RMDs once you hit 73.

Helpful is to mitigate the problem before it happens.  There's no good advice here.  It's all going to suck.
Police can't likely trace it and it's not a big fish of a case.
If it were me and I felt the threat was real, I'd come clean with my loved ones.  Rip the band-aid off, shed light on the problem.  Get ahead of it.

Omar has been pouring drinks for me for years. Totally HOT. And one of the biggest sweethearts you will ever meet. His smile totally puts me away. I can't believe that Matt persuaded him to leave Ft. Lauderdale for Tampa. But selfishly I am glad to know he's closer to where I live.

I tend to agree with this statement. Since he was in a coma, I'm going to assume he wasn't aware anything was wrong.
But for his wife...to suddenly have your life partner slip into a coma is surely a terrifying event with no script for a guaranteed outcome.  You don't know if it's going to be two days or two years, or you may never speak to your husband again.
My mother has been caring for my father for years. He suffers from advanced emphysema (ex pack-a-day smoker). She's been tasked with his care for years, mostly alone and is the one who needs to discover him when he falls down, has (another) stroke, and shits himself. While most people ask about my father, who's the one who's terminally ill. I always make a point to ask my mother how SHE'S holding up and what can I do for HER.

    Correcto.
Escorting in the truest sense of the word is highly skilled job.  Far too many people think it's just fuck-money-go-repeat.
Sure, it can be that, but that's the kind of grind that quickly takes a toll.
You can be the sexiest guy with the best body and biggest dick out there, but if you can't figure out how to verbalize and connect with someone for time you're not in the bedroom, you've painted yourself into a corner and are really only good for one thing.
That one thing doesn't always keep people coming back again and again.

I have a couple advanced degrees and spend my days with people who are similarly educated. Some are interesting and some are not. I don’t think providers need to provide a lot of details about their education but it may help to know if they have a bachelors or a graduate degree. More important to me is whether they have some curiosity as opposed to paper credentials. I have hired providers who did not seem well educated but did seem interested in the world around them and other people—they were much better company than many highly educated people I know.

Eh. The NYC subway is a right of passage and a part of life in the city.
It ain't fancy, but it gets the job done and almost universally faster than trying to get an Uber from the LES to midtown in less than a half hour.
    I've never felt unsafe riding.

He is basically there to cut your hair.  He does not have to supply a floor show with the cut.  It was weird but he did explain with his note and perhaps he is just plain tired of people coming to the barber shop and expecting scintillating conversation so he took a drastic turn.  If you like the way he cuts your hair, then that should be your priority.  If you want meaningless chit chat, ask him to put on the View while you are there.

It's hard to parse what your post is trying to say, but it sounds like you have multiple instances of cancelling with short notice.  So why even book in advance, rather than waiting til you know you're actually free?  If you want to reply "because my time is limited and I want to be sure that he'll be available when I might be" I'd ask why the provider isn't afforded the same consideration.

If you're really a Good Samaritan, you do the right thing without seeking a reward because doing the right thing is its own reward.  If he really called them hoping for a reward, and called back again looking for a better payoff, he's no longer a Good Samaritan.
The check was uncashable by anyone but the recipient and Haribo could easily have stopped payment. It's nice that he called, but he isn't exactly saving the galaxy here.  Still, they sent something.  That was a nice gesture.  Then he got greedy.  Boo.

Not a scratch-off, but......  back when I worked up in Washington State, I would get a Lotto ticket on Fridays after work on my way home, at the Quik Stop station across the road. One of the cashiers there was the twin sister of a high school buddy, who became a former buddy after a misinterpretation on my part of a camping invitation one weekend- nothing ventured nothing gained, but "S", I would have rocked your seventeen-year-old world! In any case, female "S" managed to be friendly enough to me at the store, so maybe male "S" kept the indiscretion to himself, who knows.
One Friday, I gassed up and bought my ticket. Got up on Sunday morning, made brekky and read the paper- pulled out that ticket and checked it. #1 match, #2 match, # 3 match, # 4 match, # 5 match, aaaaannnnnddd #6 is one number off! I think that it's as close as you can get to the win- but instead of 8 million, the ticket was worth $1200. Not a bad prize, but so close to the big money- Still don't know if that was the fates telling me that was as close as I'd get to winning, or to keep trying! In any case, I cashed out the ticket at the lottery office the next day - $950, after taxes. When I deposited the check, I took $100 back in cash.
A few days later, I stopped at the Quik Stop, and she was working- I grabbed a cup of coffee and a KitKat and went up to the counter to get rung up. Opened my wallet to grab a fiver, slipped the hundred into my palm, and as we chatted after she cashed me out, I said, "By the way, S, you sold me a winner last week, and this is for you" and handed her the $100 bill. She gasped, turned away and started quietly sobbing. Turns out, she needed $75 dollars for the next day, to pay for her kid's school pictures, and she was ready to go without them this year, as her ex-husband was behind on support payments.
So, at least the fates made it clear that day, ya gotta share the wealth!
