I have found that a decent percentage do not provide the full hour (one was rude enough to state on his profile that a client taking a shower at his place will reduce massage time but he was the one who took a shower beforehand and cut my massage short), especially the ones that have little massage ability and are really selling an escort type experience.

My clients get the full time they paid for. You’re probably not hiring masseurs because they’re not interested in giving you a great massage. 

totally unreasonable given known exposure to Covid in same household - that alone is reason not to hire him.

Is this a thing? The only masseur I've booked who looked nothing like his pictures (not just using old pictures) was an Asian guy.

If you ever texted to an guy who is one of that ever-changing and ever-expanding group of Asian guys who post pictures and are not necessarily the one who shows up at the door when you meet, then, yes, the group shares your number with other prospects.
 

Weird/Flaky - didn't get a massage but texted with him for a few days. We set up a time for a massage, finally agreed on a price after a lot of back and forth - then he texts me asking for more info about me and to send a pict - told him I don't send pics... he says okay, then I tell him are we still on, says yes to the agreed time.... I'm getting ready to leave and he says I'm not home and I'm running late, but I'll be there soon, not sure when and btw I'm doing the massage on my bed... I cancelled with him.

Only review says he paid $350 for a 1 hour sensual massage. That's very expensive.

All other things being near equal in 2 or more profiles, I am typically going to go to the profile that doesn't have exclusively 5 star reviews.  Because I believe you can't please all of the people all of the time, I see no red flags in a providers with some 3 or 4 star reviews. Hell, even the occasional 1 or 2 star review just makes me realize that some people are never happy. 
Overall, it gives me some semblance of faith that the 5 star reviews are genuine,  versus made up or altered after some quid pro quo like a free session.
I have had some of my best experiences with providers who weren't on page 1 or 2, and who didn't have unending 5 star reviews.

I have always given five star reviews even when the massage was more like a 4 or 3.5. Only once did I give a 3 star review based on very factual events, not personal attacks. The massage was simply lackluster, the masseur was late/overslept ( I was going to his location and had to wait outside for approximately 15 minutes), the room was very small (not much bigger than the mattress which was on the floor), the room was also a mess which negatively impacted the atmosphere and the masseur seemed extremely bored and kept checking his phone constantly. I provided an honest review so others were aware. As a result I was contacted multiple times to take down the review because all of his other reviews were five star. He even offered me another massage for free which I thanked him but said I was not interested. That made him even more upset, not understanding why I would not want another free massage. As a result he blocked me and now has multiple ads/profiles running with different names and pictures.  
Now I'm hesitant to give honest reviews for average or less than average service (non five star) and just skip the review entirely.
What are others experience/thoughts?

Only wanting clients who are active and fit would be a match for a sports massage, which he does not appear to be specifically trained in (his certification lists Akasha Healing, which seems to be holistic). Even if I fancied him, I wouldn't hire him.

Reason number billion I’m glad this forum exists: I would have never even considered that I might be expected to tip someone I’m paying directly for a service.

This is the reason I DON'T tip most providers.  They set their own rate.  They work directly for themselves.  If we had an above average time, I usually schedule a 2nd appointment with him before leaving his apartment or my hotel room.  All have been happy to have me as a repeat customer with no tip.
There have been very few times a provider has asked or hinted about gratuity... And those providers were mediocre.
I will leave a big tip if the man works at a spa, since it is the spa that sets the rate.

No, not at all.  The fact that he texted me a few hours later to tell me this leads me to believe that he is just another rip-off artist who is far too self-impressed for his own good.  Had he said something early on in our initial conversation like "we can discuss details in person," I could see that as being cautious.  But the way he handled it, I don't think that it is anything more than a scam artist who would provide subpar service at Rolls Royce prices.

I really wish rentmasseur would do more to usher these men towards rentmen, instead. He's obviously not offering a skilled massage at that price point and with those pics. At this point, I even wonder why the sites are separate?

No, I do not charge differently. Unprofessional providers cherry pick and/or charge differently for each client based on their personal preferences. This is a service with value. It takes the same time and resources regardless of how the client looks. I am making the client my focus. I cum in the way he wants, when he wants, if he wants. Providers who treat this work like paid Grindr will not last long. I have hot clients and hideous ones and everyone else who is mostly in between. Doesn’t matter. I charge the same.
@Balthazar I am sad to hear that some providers would choose to not see you or perform poorly for you because you’re black. That leaves money on the table. It makes no sense. We still live in a world with systemic racism and cultural bias and it’s frustrating. Hiring should not be one of the ways these ongoing problems manifest, but apparently it is.
Some of my black clients have mentioned their race when contacting me and asked if I am ok seeing them. It saddens me because I know they are asking because they have faced discrimination in the past. I ensure them I see everyone and have experience with people of many different races. Their money is all the same to me, whatever color they are. I want their business.
Hiring is about having experiences with people you want to spend time with, not about appealing to someone like it’s a hookup based on personal preferences (which includes racist biases). The true professionals understand this and see everyone. You deserve a true professional when you hire. A true professional would never reject you or treat you differently because of your race. Good on you for testing things to see if you’re engaging a problem provider. You don’t want to waste your time with someone who has hangups. It just makes me sad that you have to ask. It shouldn’t have to be that way, but I get why you do.

I am 100% honest in my stats listed on my client page. If a provider does not want to meet with me due to my age, height, weight, cock size, etc. I'd rather hire someone that wants to. There are plenty of options!

many times it’s a comfort level. But other times, if you’re working in the nude, some clients can take that as an invitation to try to get YOU off for their entire appointment instead of enjoying their massage. 

this makes sense & is professional - but, I think you and a couple of others here are the exceptions. For known providers who are well-reviewed, travel schedules are just fine.  I can see the upside when there is an established client base in certain cities that make the travel worthwhile/profitable.
For the vast majority of providers with travel schedules- I wouldn’t even consider reaching out because they tend to be fishing in the markets, the trips don’t happen, no courtesy to respond and/or the scheduling is too tight.  Zero interest in playing that game. 

I think the best way to navigate this is to just ask what their availability is like when they are in town.  
 
Some just post dates on a particular city just to see if there is any interest and if there is none or very little they may not even bother coming.  Also some are flying stand-by and aren’t certain of which city they will end up in.  Additionally the escorts and masseurs have lives and friends and family and that might be the main reason they are traveling somewhere and if they get a few clients great, but it might not always be the goal.

I am on holiday in Palm Springs this week.  The restaurants and bars are over 3/4 empty, even on a Friday/Saturday night.   I noticed the affordable rates for massages, so today I set up one massage for almost every day this trip.
