Derek Atlas Review

Geez, I know there are two sides to every story, but Derek Atlas’s response to his negative review today is enough to make me steer clear of him. I know he’s an established escort with good reviews, but his response sure makes him sound like a first class jerk. Chin up “CAbigboy”! There are lots of skilled, sensitive escorts out there so don’t give up the search.

I was surprised at how arrogant, dismissive, and full of contempt Derek appeared in his response. It does look like the client may have been overly-sensitive and perhaps expecting a deep, life-affirming experience, which does not always happen when you jump into bed with strangers. You have to be realistic in this sort of interaction. But just from a business-saving perspective, perhaps Derek should have restrained himself a bit, and not gone into his response with both guns blazing.

I disagree with the comment that the client was "over sensitive".......If even 50% of his complaints/criticisms were correct, he received a perfunctory, sub-standard experience from an ordinarily well-reviewed escort. The escort's snarky (and in my opinion, impolite) rebuttal to the original post just added insult to injury.

It may be that I'm compressing my perception of time, but it seems to me that more and more established escorts have recently gone off the rails. I imagine there are a variety of pressures that are unique to that profession.

The client acknowledged that he was a nervous as hell, and that this was his first time hiring an escort. With those factors involved ANYONE would be more sensitive than normal. This is not a criticism, nor is it an excuse for any failure on Derek's part to do his job effectively and respectfully.

All I can say is WOW, Derek Atlas is a conceited douchebag. His arrogance jumps right out of the computer screen. People should steer clear of this guy. His contempt for people is appalling. Does this fool really believe he can earn $300 an hour in the real world?

I think the reviewer should be commended for providing an honest assessment. Some extremely attractive escorts try to cut corners because they can get away with it. I wonder how many times negative reviews aren't posted because the porn star "wow factor" makes the meeting seem better than it actual was.

 

Although Derek has quite an ego, he was friendly when I met him. His response to the review is very disappointing.

While not a porn star, there was one very popular escort here on the Forum that I saw years ago for an overnight. The experience was definitely lacking. I didn't say anything on here because it looked to me as if I would have been savaged for not singing his praises.

For me, the most troubling part of Derek Atlas's response was "I have won the affection of thousands of miserable in my time"--not only because of the absence of a noun but because of the attitude conveyed by the adjective.

It would have been better for Derek as well - it would not have led to this very public showdown.

 

There are always 2 sides to a story. I don't subscribe to the theory that 'the client is always right'. This can be a job with high pressure to perform, and not always under ideal circumstances. That doesn't mean I approve of the tone and content of Derek's response. Maybe someone ought to organize a course 'customer service for escorts' or 'basic sales techniques in the escorting business'. It would benefit many, including Derek.

Hmm, he is just saying "the client needs to loosen up", absolutely not apologizing for the very factual issues like lateness, leaving early, why he couldn't do what was asked etc.

Basically he is saying "fuck you, people, you don't deserve me".

Derek's response is certainly not as nasty as some others have been in the past. There have been others who have been more condescending and mean. He sort of acknowledges his faults about being late, smoking, and having no clue about remembering this client. In essence he said "I can be a fuck up. Deal with it."

In the interest of getting something constructive out of this experience I'd encourage this client, if he reads the Forum, to not be deterred and find a companion with whom he really has some chemistry. There are some really great guys out there who will knock your socks off!

My second-ever hiring experience was a similar disaster and it took me a while to get back up on the horse again but I'm really glad I did - I've met lots of terrific guys
