surcharge for use of shower…?

I am accustomed to profiles on both masseurfinder and rentmasseur typically making some mention of a shower being available.  

 

"A shower is available before or after your session upon request."

 

Masseurfinder is even set up such that “shower” can be included among the list of In-studio amenities.

 

If it is not specifically mentioned in the profile, I always ask because I always want to shower off before getting dressed and heading back into the world.

 

Recently, for the second time, I had a provider quote a $15 surcharge for use of their shower.  Two different providers, same $15 surcharge.

 

I found this off-putting in both instances -- seems like a cash grab -- and decided not to book with either of them.

 

Anyone else have this experience?  How did you react / respond?

Well, this post certainly lacks in details.  Are you saying someone wanted to bill you for using the shower?  Well, I would tell them to go fuck themselves.  Just my 2 coppers....

Is it a “cash grab” if you know about it up front?  lol. 
 

I don’t like using other people’s showers, so I schedule appointments when I can go home after and use my own and I don’t necessarily require a shower beforehand. But if someone asked me to pay $15 for shower use I would just assume their fee is $20 more (who carries a $5?) and decide if the price is acceptable. 
 

That said, is certainly fair to include shower time into the appointment time. The masseur doesn’t need to provide extra shower time for free.

Exactly!  Airlines discovered that people were willing to pay extra to check bags, have a meal, get an aisle seat, etc, so those charges will continue forever.  Why wouldn’t masseurs try to do the same thing?  Extra for shower, water, clean sheets… As far as paying to suck by the inch, that’s a no-go for me.  It’s the whole magilla or nothing.

I don't like being nickel-and-dimed by an airline--I sure as hell don't like being nickel-and-dimed by a masseur. If I saw "$15 surcharge for use of shower" on a masseur's profile, I would quickly click "block."

I mean, what's next--a $5 toilet fee?
