"Lucky" has been a regular poster here since the days of Hooboy and Daddy, both of whom he knew personally. When he moved to Palm Springs 22 years ago, he created the "Palm Springs Weekend," an opportunity for members of this website to get together and socialize. The first weekend consisted of a dinner at a local restaurant, followed by a party the next day; he organized and hosted both days. It became an annual event, as more and more site members who became residents or visitors in Palm Springs got involved in the activities. Now it is a regular part of this website's calendar, and site members come from all over the country and world every year to participate in the activities organized by many members.

Unfortunately, in recent years "Lucky" has suffered an onslaught of medical problems. I am sorry to have to report that I was called to the hospital yesterday, where he died in the late afternoon in the arms of his loving partner and his always supportive family members. Farewell, my longtime dear friend--my life here in Palm Springs will be emptier without you.

@Lucky was an original member of the site with close to 19K posts. He wasn’t only a fine contributor but a personal friend of mine.

I 1st met @Lucky when he lived in NYC. We were regulars at the Gaiety and often took in Broadway 🎭 shows and afternoon lunches. When he moved to California he promised he’d visit and he did, however, each visit I could see he was slowing down. His last visit was November ’25

I want to thank @Charlie for filling us in on his decline and writing that beautiful eulogy. He kept me posted when @Lucky could no longer reply or speak on the phone.

@Lucky had a loving partner and, eventually his husband, for many years.

RIP my old friend, you’ll be missed. 🙏

I am so sorry to hear this news. While I never met Lucky in person, we had many exchanges in this Forum and its previous iterations, going back to HooBoy. He was always gracious and humorous in his posts which made for interesting  dialogue.

We will all miss him greatly. Especially old timers like myself. RIP
