Hi all Kregger52 here! Thanks for the feedback I will put my notes in order asap.

Here are also some thoughts on years of hiring masseurs:

Many of the guys who do massage are simply untrained and inexperienced grifters taking advantage of your dollar.  They advertise on Masseurfinder and Rentmasseur and seem legit with great reviews.   In some cases the only way to find out who these guys are is to experience them yourself.  Even reviews on here can be inaccurate.

The number of guys currently advertising in LA on Rentmasseur who fall into this category is unfortunately rather large.  Buyer beware.

Some tips:

1. Porn stars and professional escorts are often terrible masseurs. The worst.  I hired a big porn star a couple years ago who was visiting LA and assumed he knew what he was doing.  It was the worst massage I'd ever had. Avoid.

2. A surprising number of masseurs are still advertising with old and inaccurate photos of themselves.  I just got burned last week by this.  Ask if their pics are recent, and how recent. If they seem put off by your question, move on.

3. Certification means nothing. I've had licensed masseurs give terrible massages and unlicensed masseurs give great ones.

4.  The younger the masseur, the worse the massage.  I've splurged several times on crazy hot guys who where in their early 20s.  Awful every time.

5. Avoid any foreign masseurs visiting your city or who recently moved to your city. Yes Russian and Brazilian guys can be hot but they are often the worst of the worst.  Ask where they are from and how long they've been doing massage.  If their English is bad, avoid at all costs.

6. Never book a masseur who asks you for your pic "for safety reasons" or other reasons.

7. Any masseur who advertises his use of "luxurious essential oils" must be avoided like the plague.

Ok stay tuned for my reviews!

Agree on these especially in points #2 and #5. It’s a proper question to ask if the photos are recent. If they don’t reply back, then move on.

🙄

I agree with most of your "tips" but this one about "If their English is bad" is a bit xenophobic. English fluency does not make someone a more skilled massuer, and it certainly isn't a prerequisite for learning massage. Some of the best massages I've had have been from non-native English speakers.

I don't think this rule has anything to do with xenophobia or the quality of service.  But 90% of our dissatisfaction, whether it be about services offered, agreed payments, or setting up meetings are directly related to failed communication.

If someone doesn't clearly understand what I'm asking for or what our timing/plans are, it's a recipe for disaster.

I was quoting a portion of what the original poster said ... in his full comment he said foreign massuers were the "worst of the worst" and that sounds pretty xenophobic to me.

I can empathize with anyone who had a bad experience due to misunderstandings in communication, but there's no need to assert that it's best practice to "avoid" anyone who is foreign or non fluent in English.

Also Google Translate is free.

I agree so much.  The way a man talks can be so sexy; and, I find I am not attracted to a man who speaks English poorly (whether native or foreign-born).  Just like most of us on here don't hire women for sexual intimacy, it makes sense for us to hire someone with the physical, mental, and vocal attributes we find attractive.
