Aleve is an NSAID, is it not? NSAIDs are a whole different category with side effects of their own. Especially if you have kidney disease- very dngerous.

Tylenol has a history of doing harm.  Anyone remember the Tylenol Murders back in the early 80’s when they found someone had put cyanide in Tylenol capsules, killing 7 people?  Now we all have to fight our way through 237 non-tampering layers to get to our drugs and other products.  I think Tylenol started it because they knew what would happen and that we’d all need Tylenol to get rid of the headaches the extra packaging causes.

(This was not supposed to be taken seriously, folks!)

All drugs are harmful. But your example of the poisoning is a case of blaming the victim. “She got raped because she was wearing a mini skirt” “Poison was added because Tylenol use bottles”.  And 237 layers? Exaggerate much??

There a medical professional, no matter what you know says, there is nothing inherently wrong with acetaminophin.  In large doses and if used over a long period of time however, it can kill your liver.  Ibuprofen (advil and motrin) will destroy your kidneys, nut none of them cause autism except when the speaker has dementia.

NSAIDs can cause stomach issues too, aggravate or cause ulcers.

Let’s be clear, it’s not acetaminophen that causes autism, it’s Tylenol. Why only Tylenol? Because he has a grudge against the CEO of the manufacturer (and because he can’t pronounce acetaminophen) 😆

The only OTC med I use (very rarely) is Bayer aspirin. I don’t believe I’ve ever used Tylenol.

I don’t know if they’ve changed their recommendation recently, but as of 2017 the manufacturer recommended that pregnant women not take Tylenol.

This is not true; historically, it was recommended, if pregnant, to consult a physician before use. There’s a difference. Tylenol (acetaminophen) has long been considered a safer alternative for use by pregnant women than the alternatives.

As I said in my previous post, in 2017 the manufacturer recommended against pregnant women taking Tylenol.  I don’t know if the manufacturer has since changed their recommendation.

Tylenol is a little unusual in that the toxic dose is a relatively low multiple of the therapeutic dose. Like if you forget that you already took your advil and take a second or even third dose you're not very likely to have a problem, but you could get into trouble with Tylenol. In some coutries they mandate it be sold in blister-packs rather than bottles to reduce the accidental OD risk.

Tylenol’s official label in 2017 did not tell pregnant women “do not use” Tylenol, it said pregnant or breastfeeding women should ask a health professional before use.

The social media post you refer to was not a change to the product label and, per the company, was in fact taken out of context. Their labeling has been consistent. And it remains the safest among alternatives.

You’re free to take medical guidance from social media; I’ll stick with FDA-vetted and approved warning labels pre-dating the current administration.

I take baby aspirin daily for my cardio system. So I don’t take regular aspirin for the odd ache or pain I have. I take Tylenol and have never had any problems with it. 
40 years ago a guy who ran in our circles took excessive amounts of Tylenol before it was known about the effects it had on livers and he went into liver failure and was dead in 2 weeks. Only about 35 yo and we were all shocked.
