Personally...I think the hysterica surrounding the upcoming changes in immigration and asylum seekers is a.lot of rhetoric and posturing. In practice, rounding up thousands of people and deporting them is not easy or even practical.

What everyone seems to leave out of this conversation is that the incoming administration has also promised to streamline immigration making the idea of "illegal" more specific to those who are here, without contributing to society, selling drugs, and/or not paying taxes.

My housekeeper was illegal for many years...but she and her husband paid taxes for a decade in spite of overstaying their visa..This got them preferential treatment when they did finally apply for citizenship, through sponsorship.  That income tax money is a big key to the difference between illegal and legal status.

I'd rather close my mouth.

Please quote me.

I know folks overstaying their visas who fly across country with the passport of their country.

TSA checks your ID (Passport) to make sure it matches the name of the passenger, that's all!

My apologies for not quoting you, I will do that from now on. It's what I think will happen in the future, regardless what they do or don't do today.

I know you don’t want this thread to get political and you didn’t intend to invoke the word “pogrom” by spelling program as “progam” but when I saw what you wrote I couldn’t help but thinking of that word which denotes official or tolerated attacks on any community or group.

Yes that was juts a typo. I meant program.

  • In the US, "program" is used for everything. Americans do not use "programme."
  • In the UK, a TV show or a collection of projects is a "programme," but "program" is used as a verb and for anything related to computers.

My housekeeper's daughter was stopped by ICE inside the Giant supermarket in Springfield, VA this morning at 7 AM when she was buying crayons for her students.

She's a teacher and was just ethnically profiled, she was let go after talking to the agents and showing she doesn't have a foreign accent.

Oh well…..

This is what the nation wanted.

"This is what the Nation wanted" is a politically charged comment that clearly asks for a political discussion to answer to it.  So if we can't discuss, we shouldn't be going there to begin with.

Just because you chose to comprehend something to be “political” doesn’t indicate that the OP of the comment had that intention.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and intentions and please stop discussing politics. It’s against the rules of the forum.

Unfortunately, your comment did not age too well.

This remains to be seen.

There are an estimated 11 Million undocumented people currently living in the United States. Many who have lived here for decades and have jobs.

So far they've deported 500.

There are 22 Million families living on Welfare in the US.  Seems to me somebody from some of those households are able-bodied citizens who could take over a few of those jobs ...The overarching problem of cheap labor is one of taxation. If they would reduce the associated labor costs to American employers, they wouldn't need to exploit undocumented labor from poor countries.

As far as escorts and masseurs, as long as they keep their paperwork in order, and avoid using easily monitored communication methods, they should be fine. Tourist visas are simple enough, as long as they are careful to respect the 6 month limit.

Fuck your way through NYC in the Summer 🌞and sell your ass in Buenos Aires in the Winter. ❄️

Yes, most foreign Strippers and Escorts I meet are successfully managing to survive and thrive with visas

Many Americans of all races but mostly in the Bible Belt and Appalachia just don't want to work!

Immigrants (legal and illegal) simply have better work ethic!

I can't find the video, but that phrase is spot on!

The visa waiver which is the most form of tourist visa is 3 months.

I know some escorts who have overstayed their visa for decades doing a very profitable business while wiring money back home!

It's been talked about on here multiple times about escorts being kicked back home at the airport after their phone was searched and the real reasons for their visit was discovered. That happened to Gabriel Cross!
